I am terribly sorry everyone. Between getting ready to leave on Monday for my first trip to England, and this horrific cold and the meds for said cold, plus running two challenge comms that have major milestones this week, I completely forgot it was my weekend to host.
So, because I've only just now realized it, we're going to make Saturday a free for all too, just to make it up to y'all. This post will serve for both Friday and Saturday.
Come on in and pull up a comment or three. Any fandom, any prompt (mindful that there are no spoilers in the prompt itself), any pairing, any anything!
Remember the rules (no more than 5 posts in a row, 3 per fandom, no spoilers in the prompt, if there are spoilers in the fic, please warn and leave space for people to skip over it) and format your prompts properly (and mind the length of the prompts).
For example:
Leverage, Eliot/author's choice, his was a lonely road, and comfort came at a cost
Hawaii 5-0, Danny/Steve, prick me again and watch me bleed
Criminal Minds/White Collar, Spencer Reid/Neal Caffrey, Derek Morgan, jealousy
Have fun!

Date: 2011-12-03 09:29 am (UTC)Rory knows there's something wrong because the Doctor is supposed to be watching Amy. Everyone watches Amy. Amy is everything Rory had ever thought a beautiful woman should be.
Sometimes, in the middle of the night he'll wakeup alone and something will whisper in his mind that this is reality, that Amy wasn't his wife. That she might not even be real.
But then he hears a noise and she steps out from the bathroom or the wardrobe or in from the hallway and crawls back into bed with him.
The Doctor watches Rory because he knows what Rory isn't ready to hear, what he knew from the first moment he saw Amelia Pond; even when his head was spinning from regeneration.
Amy isn't real.
She's a fairytale creature kept alive by the heart, soul and imagination of a lonely little boy.
She's Rory in every way that matters, a not quite parasitic psychic twin and she knows it.
She asks him not to tell.
If he tells than she'll have to go away and who will take care of Rory then?

Date: 2011-12-03 09:52 am (UTC)He stood quickly and shooed the bird away, then rescued the envelope from drowning in cold cereal. Holding it by two fingers, as though worried it might explode, he stomped from the kitchen and into the hall.
"What was that?" Cadmus asked. Petra shrugged. Mother frowned. There was the sound of a phone being dialed, a muffled curse and a redial, and then a muttered, urgent-sounding conversation they couldn't make out.
"--thought I told you not to do that." Father's voice drifted in from the sitting room.
"I got here quick as I could; it was this or Apparate on your front lawn-- oh, hallo." Cousin Harry, covered in soot and sprawled on the floor by the suddenly roaring fireplace, grinned sheepishly at the family clustered curiously in the doorway. "And this is yours, is it, Petra?" As he stood the soot seemed to vanish, and the flames behind him guttered and died as if they'd been left burning untended for hours.
"What? Oh-- yes." Petra nodded as she saw Cousin Harry indicate the letter still held in Father's large hands. "An owl dropped it in my breakfast. Did you send it?"
Cousin Harry laughed. "Petra, let me tell you some things you don't know about the world . . ."
--
According to Louis, ever since he and Domanique started school the sixth compartment on the right side of the third car was traditionally reserved by unwritten law for Weasley cousins and their friends. This year it had gotten so cramped that they had spilled out to commandeer the sixth compartment on the left, and Albus had found himself shunted into the new space with Lucy, Fred, and Roxanne; plus Lorcan and Lycander Scamander-Lovegood, honorary Weasleys; and a small girl called Petra that Albus dimly remembered playing around on Christmas holidays when Dad visited his Muggle cousin. The elder Weasley cousins filled the right compartment, and James had abandoned the familial seating altogether.
Albus sat silently in the seat nearest the door, fiddling anxiously with the hem of his Muggle jumper as the train picked up speed and London disappeared into a small blur behind them. Roxanne and the Scamander-Lovegoods had already started up a game of Exploding Snap by the window, and Lucy and Fred were exchanging rapid-fire Quidditch tips, their hands waving about as they debated the best broomstick for a sloth-grip roll.
Albus took a deep breath and changed seats.
"Hi," he said, and suddenly felt utterly stupid.
Petra looked at him, startled. "Hi."
"Erm, I'm Albus. Potter. I think you're my cousin or something, I don't really . . ."
"Yes. Cousin Harry told me where to sit." She stared at her fidgety hands, silent for one, two, three seconds, and then blurted, "Are you really a wizard?"
He laughs nervously. "I sure hope so. 'Else I don't think I'll be getting very good marks this year."
"It's a prank, isn't it," Petra declares, scowling at the train car as a whole. "Cadmus set it up, or Father, or . . ."
"No, no prank." Glancing nervously at the increasingly volatile card game, he stood. "Maybe we should get out of here before--"
BOOM.
Albus winced. "That."
(( Whoaaa this was just supposed to be a quick intro I swear. I will continue this tomorrow and Scorpius will actually get a part. Promise. ))

Yeah, Tony doens't know how that would happen. Mind control?

Date: 2011-12-03 07:44 am (UTC)Your Arms Feel Like Home
Date: 2011-12-03 09:14 pm (UTC)Instead, she asks "How'd you know?" accepting the beer wearily and sliding onto a barstool. The axis-mundi is a lot longer than she'd ever thought it would be, and a lot lonelier. Of course, that could just be from the realization that the love of her life was never who she thought he was.
The girl grins, leaning over the wooden countertop and giving Jess a bit of an eyeful. "You've got that look to you," She says, like it's some big secret, "that broken resignment that wants to be resentment, but can't quite bring yourself to hate him, can you? Plus," The girl laughs, picking up a rag to wipe some condensation off the bar, "you are dead - no offense."
Jess can't help a grin back. It's infectious. "Nope," She agrees, "every time I try to hate him for getting me killed, all I see are his adorable puppy-dog eyes." Somehow, she's not surprised that they have a bit of a track record. She wonders if this was another girlfriend of Sam's - blonde, and beautiful enough that Jess would have been worried if they'd ever met while thay were alive.
"Ahh, you must be Jess then." The girl replies, "You're even more beautiful than I imagined."
"Were you-?" Jess tries to ask, blushing a bit, not exactly sure what the etiquette is for asking someone if they've slept with your boyfriend once you're both dead. "Did Sam,"
If anything, the blonde seems amused by that. There's no one else in the bar, so she hops up onto the counter, swinging her legs over onto Jess' side without a thought. "Nope," She chuckles, "you should be honored, Sam hasn't even looked at a blonde since you. I had a crush on his brother for the longest time though. Name's Jo."
Jess isn't sure how she feels about Sam getting on with his life without her - and that leads to way too many questions - so she changes the topic, staring down at the glass in her hand. It's petty, but she's glad Jo wasn't her replacement. "Let me guess, they got you killed too?"
"Yep." Jess is honestly detatched enough to find their luck funny at this point, and evidently Jo agrees with her, because they're both laughing a little bit later after trying and failing to hold it back.
Jo slips down onto the barstool next to her, bumping her shoulder gently like they're old friends. "Here's to getting killed by the Winchesters," She proposes as a toast, holding up a bottle of her own. Jess giggles as she seconds it, glasses clinking delicately in the silence of the empty bar.
She doesn't know how much Jo's been through, but she sees a fair bit of it in her smile and in her eyes. The girl was a hunter, just like her Sam. But the road is long, and they're both lost now: together in a bar that Jess has never seen in her life, with a girl who knows more than she ever did.
"He never spoke about you unless he was drunk," Jo tells Jess a minute or two later. She sounds wistful, "I guess it hurt too much otherwise, but I used to look forward to the stories once I got him going." A pause. "I think I started to miss you as much as he did after a while."
She leans in, and Jess doesn't even have to think. It feels right. Their lips meet, soft, hesitant, and for all that it's their first kiss, it feels familiar.
Jo pulls back just enough to smile at her, and that's when it clicks. This is heaven, and this is forever. Jess grins back at her in the dim light, breathing in the smell of beer and sawdust and Jo. Yeah, she could do this forever.
She tugs Jo back to her, arms tangling gently in the other girl's hair. Then they're kissing again, pulling each other closer until there's no distance between them anymore.
Jess' chest is filling up with emotions she can't indentify, but doesn't really feel the need to either. For the first time in a long time, she doesn't feel like she's lost anymore. It feels good, so who is she to question?
It hits her later, when Jo's lying stretched out on top of her up on the bar counter, both of them sated and happy.
It finally feels like coming home.

Date: 2011-12-03 08:06 am (UTC)Title: Abomination
Date: 2011-12-10 04:27 pm (UTC)Raphael shakes his head. "The boy is tainted, Gabriel -- an abomination unto God. Fed on demon blood, once the vessel for Lucifer, who he himself released; there is nothing in him worthy of our kind."
Gabriel decks him, hard, across the face. "My mate is a hero! If you remember correctly, he managed to shove Lucifer back into the Cage, too! He stopped the Apocalypse you and Mikey were so ready to have because you're all still hurt and pissed off after Lucifer left us.
"Well, guess what, Raph -- it's been a couple Dad-damned millenia since Lucifer left. Get. Over. It." He gets very close to his brother's face. "And never try and tell me Sam's 'unworthy' ever again. I'll kill you."
He stalks off, leaving a shell-shocked Raphael behind him. Sam, Dean, and Castiel follow in his wake, looking just as dumbstruck.
Castiel and Gabriel zap everyone back to Bobby's place, and Sam leads Gabriel up the stairs and pulls him quietly aside.
"Thanks," he whispers. "I...I really don't like it when they..."
"Shh," Gabriel hushes him. "It doesn't matter. I'm pretty sure I sent a message all of Heaven's gonna recieve. Nobody tells me who's worthy of being mine." He stands up on tiptoe and presses a kiss to Sam's lips.
The way Sam's arms go tight around him means more than any verbal thank you had, and Gabriel is glad, so very glad, that this man is his mate.

- The horrible answer is: God is cruel and hates his children.
Lucifer couldn’t tell anymore whether that ever fleeting dance with good old Nick was meant to be seduction or confession. Probably both. But it gave that damned journey a certain constant that he’d learned to enjoy.
- Also I believe you too lost faith in my father a long time ago.
Nick face darkened and Lucifer caught an echo of memories full of grief and blood that were almost mirror to his own.
- It’s beyond me. I’m sorry.
And with every repeat that sorry that started only as a kind word that didn’t mean anything to Lucifer himself, with every repeat that sorry gained more weight and there were days coming, he knew, when that sorry would break him.
- I’m starting to think that it’s beyond me to correct anything, - he said bitterly, - but I need to try. And I need your help.
- You lost me here, devil. And I think I need a drink for that discussion.
Lucifer felt a strange surge to tell his vessel that he already had enough, but really in mere minutes it won’t matter. Also Lucifer felt like he might need a drink too, because he didn’t know if there ever will be an end to his misery. Logically, there should be - everything has its end, but God was always a bastard with endless patience and particular sadistic sense of Justice.
- Of course, it’s your dream.
- Right.
Last time they had bitter coffee laced with whisky. The time before that Nick was so drank already that he didn’t listen to a word Lucifer had to say and by next evening when Lucifer visited him again, he was dead, body cold in the pool of blood. That time he had to drag his lost soul from Hell and resurrect him. It was a strange experience rising Nick from Pit. It made him feel almost like an angel he once was.
- Want some? – offered Nick holding opened bottle of distilled fermented wheat mash. The same one that Nick drunk the day after the funeral.
- No, I prefer something sweeter.
Devil snapped his fingers, imagining a construct of a latte with wiped cream and sprinkled with chocolate Gabriel introduced him the last time around. A memory surfaced briefly of warm south night, wings brushing together. “What does He want?” “Wrong angel to ask, bro. Skipped that train looonnng time ago.”
- Right. So tell me everything.
Lucifer snorted.
- From the beginning?
