Re: FILL: Contract Law, extra
Date: 2012-11-29 06:16 am (UTC)The Vikings had not thought kindly of homosexuality.
Well, the were HALF ok with it. So long as you weren't the "receiving" partner it was ok. (Kinda like with the Romans.) So ... half ok, still better than most of Europe at the time.
“Certainly a marriage contract can be between two men” Thor answered the first question very slowly and deliberately, as if speaking to someone very uneducated or very stupid. “A marriage contract can be between any two beings capable of agreeing to appropriate terms binding them together. What else is a marriage contract other than an agreement of terms between two families to become one?”
*cannot stop laughing*
“Uh, how would banning gay marriage help Loki?”
I need that as an icon right the hell now.
“Loki could marry as either a man or a woman.”
Oh, right! That's true!
“Loki is my brother because he was raised as my brother, but when he wishes it, he can be a woman. I am an uncle three times over by the children he has born, though none within a marriage contract.”
Can't wait until he mentions one of them is an eight-legged horse his dad rides around on!
