Hey again, this is [livejournal.com profile] derekmetaltron and welcome to a second day from me as Guest Host! We had some great prompts and write ups yesterdays so well done to all of you who did!

The theme for today on Tuesday is Seasons! We're a few days into Autumn now and over here in Blighty the Weather can't make it's mind up. But in prompts today we're focusing on the changing seasons which define our year - Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter! So all the prompts today need to have a Season involved, either one or several! Are you super heroes enjoying their annual Summer picnic, or is your homicide detective investigating a body amid the snow of Winter? As long as you can work at least one season into your prompt any fandom or crossover is fine!

As always, remember the rules via the Great Diety of Copy and Paste:
•No more than five prompts in a row.

•No more than three prompts in the same fandom.

•No spoilers in prompts.

•If your fill contains spoilers, warn and leave plenty of space!

Prompts should be formatted as follows:
Fandom, Character+/Character, Prompt

Here are some examples to get the ball rolling...
  • DCU, Any, Crime Fighting on a Hot Summer's Day in Gotham.
  • Doctor Who, Any Doctor and Any Companion(s), The Doctor takes his friend(s) to witness a historic Winter.
  • Marvel, Captain America, Spring Time in Occupied Paris, 1944.

Happy Prompting and readers, be sure to tag them if you've found a prompt you like!

Avengers movieverse, Thor + Loki + any, the Aurora Borealis reminds them of Asgard at Yule

Aurora, Thor + Loki

From: [identity profile] silverfoxflower.livejournal.com
"Brother," Thor stalled him with a hand on his arm, the other pointing beyond Loki's head, to the dark heavens. "Look."

For a moment, Loki contemplated the vulnerability of Thor's bared throat, how a well-placed knife would sever this sudden stalemate Thor had called. They were both wearied and panting after days of battle, surrounded by a field of ice Loki had transported Thor to at the beginning of their fight, believing = mistakenly, bitterly - that the cold would give him an advantage.

"The lights." Thor prompted, and Loki turned in grudging curiosity.

Against the deep ink spill of the night sky, a ribbon of bright color unfurled above their heads. The flickering bands of light reminded Loki of the great hall of Asgard, lit with candles. The memory was so visceral that for a moment, Loki could hear the snap of logs in the fire, feel coal-heated fur under his feet and taste the bittersweet snap of winterberries between his teeth.

"Do you remember the winter we slayed the White Bear?" Thor asked, a rumble of fondness in his voice.

Loki did. Its meat had been dark and rich, its polished claws and teeth fine prizes to hand out to cooing palace women. "Fandral must have told the tale thrice-over around the fire." Loki said before he could help himself, sliding back into the easy, warm banter he had always had with Thor like key to lock. "And by the end one would think that he had slain the beast himself with naught but that toothpick of a sword!"

The brothers glanced at each other, grinning breathlessly, until Loki remembered, with a cold wrench of reality, that there would be no Yule for him ever again, that the only way he was going to return to Asgard would be in chains.

The smile dropped from Thor's face as Loki turned away from him. "Brother." He said, his hand still clasped around Loki's forearm. "It's not too late, you can still come home."

The corner of Loki's mouth curved up in bitter amusement. Without fail, after every battle, Thor would make the same, naive pronouncements, offer Loki mercy and mercy again, as if Loki had want or need of such pity.

As if Loki could be persuaded into believing it was anything he deserved.

"Goodbye, brother." Loki said, stepping out of Thor's reach and disappearing, leaving his brother in the cold, under the fading light.

By his thirteenth year Lómion is used to shadows and starlight, to never-falling leaves and the chill in the air. The small worms in rotting trees give enough light to see by on moonless nights. Mother comes moss- and flower-gathering with him when Father is away, and sometimes picks a few plants of her own and presses them into a little book. "Mother?" he asks once. "Did you have flowers in the other place you came from?"
"Yes, we did. Niphredil, violets, orchids and peaseblossom. They are lovely flowers, though I never cared much for gardens until... I came here."
"Can you show me?"
She shakes her head. "There are none left to grow here; the trees and the dark have choked them, I suppose."
"Where will they grow?" he asks eagerly, scraping growths from a rock. "Can you take me there to see them?"
"They grow in summer and spring. There is only winter in this forsaken place," says Mother, and now her voice is all twisted. Lómion cringes in anticipation of a cold silence or a bark like Father's, but Mother only slams the book shut and turns homeward.

Hawaii Five-O, team, corn maze

"Danny where are we going?"

"Waimanalo Country Farms (www.waimanalocountryfarms.com)."

"Why?"

"Because they have a corn maze and a pumpkin patch."

"And why is that important?" Steve asked with a confused look on his face.

"Because Steven, It is something I grew up with in Jersey and it's something I want to share with my daughter."

"I love corn mazes," Catherine said from the back seat she shared with Grace.

Danny turned in his seat and declared, "See Catherine agrees with me."

"So getting lost in a maze made of corn rows is fun?"

"Maybe we should have just left him," Danny grumbled.

"No Danny, he needs the experience. Besides you know he'll have fun once he gets over the shock of it."

"As long as he doesn't start planning combat raids in the middle of it."

"Now that would be fun," Steve said with a smile.

"Uncle Steve will you help me pick out the perfect pumpkin?" Grace asked, saving them from her father and Uncle Steve's bickering.

Leverage, Pumpkin Picking 1

Parker dropped the pumpkin and bounded off to the next one. Only Eliot's quick reflexes kept it from plummeting to its death, little seeds and strings of pumpkin-brains all over the ground.

"Whose brilliant idea was this, anyway?" he growled, placing it carefully with the others.

Hardison rubbed a hand over his shorn hair, gaze sliding pointedly across the pumpkin patch to Nate and Sophie, walking arm in arm.

"Right," Eliot muttered. "I'm never getting that attached." It just seemed like a bad idea for a man in his line of work, on so many levels.

"I like this one!" Parker squatted to wrap her arms around a man-sized pumpkin. "It reminds me of Sophie. Hardison, can we get this one?"

Hardison hesitated. Sophie spoke, her back stiffening. "Excuse me? What's that supposed to mean?"

"Maybe a different one, baby," Hardison said hopefully.

"Well, we have to find one that looks just right if we're going to carve it!" She started to leave, whipped back around, and pinned Hardison with a narrow-eyed look. "We are going to carve it, right?"

He nodded swiftly.

Eliot winced. "Because giving her sharp knives sounds like a brilliant idea."

Hardison leaned close, his voice low, and murmured, "I bought a kiddie set."

That was just too much. Eliot blinked twice, realized Parker would LOVE the orange-handled dull knives, and began to shake his head. "I love my freedom."

"I love my sex," Hardison said, trying for smug but coming up slightly worried as he tracked Parker.

"I have that, too," Eliot pointed out.

Parker stopped at a pumpkin, sat on it thoughtfully, rolled it to one side and wrinkled her nose. She let it fall to its base and took off again, bounding over a hay bale and nearly into a child.

The child's mother grabbed him back, glaring at Parker. Parker snatched up the pumpkin the little boy had been looking at and examined it in between giving him the evil eye.

"Baby," Hardison said, sounding a little exasperated. He didn't say anything else, though, and Parker was already off, zipping through the patch. Children turned and watched her go, alarmed.

"I have to get the right one!" Parker sing-songed over one shoulder.

"What did she mean by that?" Sophie muttered, still on about the pumpkin comment. "I might have picked up a few pounds when I was on break, but I'm sure I've lost them now--"

"You're beautiful as you are," Nate soothed.

Sophie pulled away from him, glaring. "And just what are you saying? 'As I am'?"

With one woman vaulting pumpkins and scaring off children, and the other annoyed behind them, Eliot leaned toward Hardison. "Could be worse." He glanced at Nate and Sophie. "Could be that." He thought about it, then added, "I am so glad I'm unattached."

Hardison nodded, big-eyed as he watched his girlfriend plaster herself across another pumpkin. "Hey, Mama? How about we find a reasonable sized one?"

She was on her belly, hanging upside down off a car-sized squash bearing a blue ribbon. Her limbs sprawled out as if she were a limpet, fingers tense as she held herself in place. Her face pressed into the rind. "This one." Her words were muffled. "I want this one."

Eliot snickered. Hardison looked even more alarmed. "Baby, I don't think we can fit that one in the van. How would we even lift it in? Or out?"

Parker made chewing noises.

"Steven you cannot wear that as a costume. It sucks."

"Why not?"

"Because it's not a costume. A costume is something is not part of your everyday dress."

"It's not part of my everyday dress."

"Besides the fact its cargo pants, which unless we're undercover, are your everyday wear."

"It's still a costume."

"On me it would be a costume. On you it's just your uniform."

"It's not an everyday uniform. It's camouflage."

"Steven, it's not a costume. Now you dressing like Tony Stark and sporting a goatee is a costume. A very hot costume. Wearing your uniform is not."
