Sorry for the late start, everyone. I'm Viernes
Hello, everyone. I’m
analise010 and it's my last day here, so let's end with our favorite things. Prompts can be anything from your favorite fandoms, favorite pairings, hell, even your favorite day of the week. As long as there's a fav involved, go crazy.
The rules still haven't changed:
Prompts should be formatted as follows:
Fandom, Character+/Character, Prompt
Some examples to get the ball rolling...
+ Teen Wolf, Derek/Stiles, He should have known that Stiles would smell like his favorite color.
+ X-Men (movies), Logan/Rogue, She was always his favorite.
+ Xena: Warrior Princess, Xena/Gabrielle, any
Not feeling any of today’s prompts? Visit the lonely prompt archive and brighten someone’s day.
Have fun and happy Friday!

Dean knows it's all kinds of wrong, and he makes sure to put as much sarcasm as possible into it when he says it aloud, but the truth is that he means it. November 2 really is his favorite day of the year.
Which is not to say it isn't painful. He lost his mother for crying out loud! He still has nightmares about it sometimes and lives every day with what it did to his family. That's the thing though--he didn't just lose on November 2, 1983. He gained a purpose.
He's well aware that's a pretty messed up way to look at it. Four-year-olds aren't supposed to have any purpose in life other than being a kid. He gets that, but life isn't always the way it's supposed to be. November 2 taught him that, too.
Back to that purpose. Dean takes care of what family he's got left. There wasn't very much he could do in the beginning, and he sure as hell wasn't very good at it sometimes, but he learned. Maybe he sacrificed most of the "normal" parts of his life that still remained after that first November 2 to do it, but he found a sick kind of comfort in doing his best to hold the pieces of his family together, in making sure, to the best of his ability, that his dad always made it to a relatively soft surface before passing out after a hunt or a drinking binge, in letting Sammy keep as much of his own "normal" as long as he could.
November 2 was always the day they needed him the most. Even if Dad seemed like he was holding himself together on his own better earlier in the year, when fall rolled around, he always took a downturn, and Dean was there to look out for him the night of when he had yet to fail to nearly give himself alcohol poisoning. It didn't help that Sam was always angrier that day, too. There was always a big fight, and Dean made sure he was there to step in between them before it came to blows. He was also there to listen to Sam's ranting afterward, with newly added bits from the past year, to try and cheer him up, and failing that, to let him burn off some of the aggression on a target that wouldn't hold it against him.
It may be wrong, twisted, almost certainly unhealthy, and he could never really admit to it, but it was true.
