Friday: Alternate Reality or Universe
Mar. 29th, 2013 12:11 amToday is Friday and the theme is also one of my favorites: AU or AR. Either someone went left instead of the canon right, or that one terrible event you hate in canon never happened, or Arthur&Merlin are penguins instead of a prince and a wizard. Whatever y'all want, dues.
Y'all all know the rules, I'm sure.
Have fun!

FILL: Burn This Floor [Inception, Arthur/Eames, PG]
Date: 2014-12-17 03:52 pm (UTC)Eames' daemon: a very floofy Persian Cat, goes by Lokate)
--
“I don’t think that I’m ever going to stop being slightly alarmed by her,” Lokate offers, raising one delicate paw to her mouth, “she’s just…”
“Unsettling?” He suggests, tickling behind her ears in that way that always makes her arch and purr, “strange? Likely to kill us all in the middle of the night and devour our bodies before anybody can realize that we’re gone?”
“Yes, all of those things,” she shrugs, gives a rumbling chuckle when Aryo glances at them from her place by Arthur’s side – bares her teeth at them like she knows, “and more. Who would’ve thought that such a nice looking man would have such a beast as his daemon? It should, by all accounts, make no sense.”
“That’s assuming that Arthur has ever made any sense,” he purrs, takes her resigned laugh as a sign of victory, “besides, would you have it any other way?”
“Would you?”
“Of course not.”
And, despite everything, he really wouldn’t. A little alarm is good for the soul, and that is most certainly a truth he’s sticking with.

Date: 2013-03-29 08:05 am (UTC)Softer than a piper man
Date: 2013-04-11 08:54 pm (UTC)She knew better than to go on a wild goose chase set up for her by someone so... gone. It was her job though, to risk her life in hopes of capturing the latest and greatest threat to society.
She knew everything there was to know about Harry Potter, and she felt very strongly that though he would kill her one day, he'd draw it out as long as possible. But Ginny wouldn't really let him be the death of her. He could try. He would fail.
At least this way, she had something to do with her case in the mean time. It wasn't a solid lead, but it could give her something. She hoped.
Where are you, Harry...? she asked herself, angling her head toward an alleyway to see if there was anything peculiar, anything worth her attention.
Her head shot to the side when an awful noise started up beside her. She'd seen these booths before. Red, with glass, something she'd learned about in Muggle Studies. A... a phone. A phone was making a racket beside her.
Eyebrows furrowed, Ginny looked around her once more, turning slowly, robes circling about her. If he was near - and he must've been, she thought, grim - he must have been somewhere high. Ginny slid her wand up her sleeve and into her hand, tip sticking out between her thumb and index finger, but still mostly concealed by her sleeve and hand.
A knew seeking charm was still in development; the older version had been deflected far too many times to be considered accurate, or helpful. So Ginny still required a sighting, or a spell to trace. Some tangible resonance from which to go off of.
Shoulders tensed up, Ginny opened the door to the booth, and lifted the phone to her head.
There was a white noise at the end of the line. Silent, but not...
"I know what it's like, Harry," Ginny said, voice calm, almost soft. Soft. But strong. Unwavering. "You feel darkness inside of y-"
"You don't know anything of what it's like!" Harry sounded such a child sometimes... Ginny sometimes thought it affected her ability to truly see the crimes he'd committed. But she couldn't hand the case over. She felt too close to the situation to let it go, even if it would have been the right thing to do. Perhaps Harry would be dead and gone already, if she wasn't the auror over him.
Dead and gone. Ginny almost shook her head. But if he was watching, she would not give him anything.
"-ou. You can't tell where he ends and you begin. But you don't have to run, Harry. He's dead; he's gone. You're the only person who can control you now, Harry. You don't have to be afraid any -"
Ginny heard a loud bang, and then the phone let off a long tone into her ear.
"Shit!" Ginny dropped the phone and ran out of the booth, into the streets. She glared up at the sky hoping to see anything left behind. A mark of energy, a surge of magic marked.
Nothing... Of course, nothing. Ginny shook her head, sad. Sad for Harry. Angry for the people he'd hurt. At a loss of what to do with herself.
Why did she want to protect him so badly...?
