Lundi: New Fandoms
Apr. 29th, 2013 12:52 pmSorry this is a bit late - I totally spaced that I was hosting this week until just now! So, without further ado, today's theme is new fandoms. Fandoms that haven't been around as long tend sometimes to not get as much love, so let's give them some today. It's up to your discretion, but anything that has premiered in the last few years is fair game. :)
Please remember the rules so everyone can have a good time:
No more than five prompts in a row.
No more than three prompts from one fandom at a time.
No spoilers in your prompt until at least one week after the original airing/publication date. If there are spoilers in your fic, warn in bold and leave at least three spaces
Please always use the following format to make it easier on the code monkeys:
Fandom(s), character or pairing, prompt.
And here are a few examples, to get you started.
Smash, Tom & Julia, she was the first person he came out to
Bunheads, Michelle/Truly, drunken kisses
Cabin in the Woods, Dana, she shoots Marty

Date: 2013-04-29 07:45 pm (UTC)Now, it's just a part of their day. They don't schedule it or look for it, it just is. Hungover, they cuddle on the couch while they pep talk each other into getting up and starting the day. After meals, when they're comfortably full and finishing up the topic of discussion that had dominated their meal-time conversation, Jared rests his head on Peter's shoulder or Peter presses his body up alongside Jared's and throws an arm over Jared's shoulders to hold him close. They don't think about it much, but when they do think about it, they think that they would probably be just as comfortable touching one another - just as touch-hungry while they're apart - if they weren't fucking like bunnies nine nights out of ten as they are now.
So they don't consider the leaning, the pressing... the cuddling or the hugging or even this to be a facet of their sexual relationship. It's a facet of their relationship, period, and it isn't one that they take any pains to hide.
"I understand your perspective on that..." Hanna says, sounding so very close to being freaked out - but trying not to be - that it would be adorable (except: headache). "But you have to see our clients' perspective. What do you think they see when they walk past this office and see the two of you... like this?"
"We're fully clothed," Jared points out, wisely. "And it's just until the Tylenol kicks in."
"Yes, but-"
Peter just can't help it - he moans. "It hurts!" Why are there people talking while his head feels like a giant ball of anguish attached to his neck by barbs? Jared is pretty effective at curing what ails Peter through proximity, but even his magical powers have limits - and noise is one of them.
Hanna sighs. Peter knows that Karp has stuck his head in the office because it's Karp's voice that says, "Huh. I always thought Bash would be the big spoon."
But Peter loses all interest in both of them when Jared says, loudly and with offense, "Hey! That is an incredibly baseless stereotype to assign the vertically challenged... Short people can be the big spoon, too, you know! We are all equal when we are horizontal, my friend." Because Jared's words might be, by Peter's estimation, somewhat profound (except: headache). Peter moans again.
"Oh! Sorry, babe," Jared whispers, massaging Peter's scalp with soothing motions of his magnificent fingertips.
"I'm telling," grumbles Hanna (or something equivalent) as she stomps away.
Silence reigns. And then Jared says, "Yeah, I think we're going to have to cut back on the in-office spooning from now on. At least when we forget to lower the blinds on our office windows."
"Later," Peter says. "We'll be appropriate later. I still hurt." And he pushes into Jared's hands to encourage the massaging to continue.
Jared chuckles quietly and says, "Okay, later." And then he brushes a light kiss atop Peter's forehead that does wonders for Peter's migraine. (Not that Peter is going to say as much. If this is their last spooning session on their comfy office couch... then he's going to have to make it last.)

Date: 2013-04-29 06:16 pm (UTC)Once Upon A Time, Mary Margaret Blanchard/Snow White, Identity
Date: 2013-04-30 05:54 pm (UTC)When she met Emma, perfectly organized became a dream of the distant past.
When she met David, her necklines dipped lower than they had even in her adolescence.
When a purple cloud consumed Storybrooke, she stopped being a schoolteacher and started being Snow White.
She wasn't sure if the catalyst for the change was Emma or Henry. It could have been either, really. Both were equally effective.
She wasn't old enough to be a grandmother, barely old enough to be a mother, and the part of her that still clung to Mary Margaret Blanchard still didn't want to call herself Snow White.
She looked into David's - James Charming's - eyes and saw how much easier it was to define herself by love.
She loved James Charming. She loved Emma. She loved Henry.
The rest wasn't supposed to matter. She tried to make it not matter by herself, and tired easily.
She looked into her lover's eyes and saw that she didn't have to do it alone.
