Archive Mods + A Question About Re-Run Days

Archive Mods
Okay, due to various reasons, I need a few new Archive Mods. At least three, more would be nice, though. I have a different archiving system I'm working on since Delicious is a hot mess and I'm not going to waste time trying to sort that out since it hasn't been updated long before I became mod here.

All you need to be an Archive Mod is to know how to code links and I can teach you that if you wanna help, but don't know how to do that. :)

So leave me a comment here and I'll PM you about the new system and add you as a mod.

Re-Run Days

I do like having re-run days, but I was wondering if you guys still wanted to keep Wednesday as a Re-Run Day, or make it just Sunday for lonely prompts? Or some other day.

Also, does anyone know what happened to the banners that are usually at the top of the layout? They don't show up for me anymore.

Awesome. That kind of fell apart after I tried sorting out the Delicious Archive and just decided to clean it up at a later date and work on a new Archive system. I'll PM you with details about the new one.

Whoops, I meant to send you a PM about volunteering as an archiver a few weeks ago but then I forgot! I'm better at doing intense bursts of work than keeping up with a regular schedule, so I'd probably be more use at doing a blitz on the backlog, but I can code links and other basic HTML already. If you'd like me to pitch in, just let me know.

I'm not sure what coding a link means (is it just writing them in HTML?) but I'd be happy to help! As for rerun days, could we replace them with something new? Maybe webcould make Wed a lonely prompts day, and Sunday a competition or something? I know that takes up a lot of the mods' time, though. What about just a day for finding & filling lonely prompts from a particular theme, like supernatural or TV tropes or gen?

Perhaps a poll on re-run days?

Personally I'd like to see the mod of the week set five weekday challenges instead of the current four, keep Saturday as the free-for-all and just have Sunday be Lonely prompt day as the re-run days never seem to generate a huge amount of response on the com.

I'd like to keep at least one a week, just so they're out there and we don't have a huge backlog of unfilled prompts, but I'll leave it up to the comm. :)

Re: Rerun days -- I like them as-is and I've found some inspiration for quite a few fics that way. Perhaps a poll is in order??

I don't feel especially strongly about the re-run days, unless maybe on guest-host Wednesdays the guest host could pick a Lonely Theme or ask that Loneys be filled from a particular day or month maybe? Just to keep the guest-theme running. Or have Sunday as Anything Goes, be it lonely prompts or new ones?

Why not? Sundays are a great way to keep track of the prompts that have gotten filled. Re-run is a great way of showcasing and promoting old prompts to be filled.

I can't offer to archive for the time being, but I'm glad plenty of others want to help. Are you planning an archive on LJ or a Delicious-alternative site like Pinboard?

I like rerun and lonely prompt days for the same reasons that others have said. Considering the amount of lonely prompts available, they need as many chances as we can give them to get filled. If ppl don't like the mid-week rerun day, then maybe a Friday or Saturday rerun day could work (the other day could still be free for all). I like lonely prompts for Sunday, though.

I haven't been able to see the banners for a long time. At first I thought they weren't loading, but now I think that they've disappeared from wherever they were hosted. I could've sworn there was an old mod post full of them, but I've only been able to find a couple of mod posts of the smaller promo banners.

I believe before you took over, the previous hosts said the banners "would be going away" because they were dissolving whatever site they were previously being hosted, so we'll probably need new banners.

I personally like the 'lonely prompts' days, because I find some really interesting stuff out there that could be filled. I haven't filled any lately, myself, due to personal problems (but I haven't been writing much due to personal problems, at any rate).

I thought I had sent them to someone else and they were hosting them, but I could be wrong. New banners aren't hard though and it's a nice change. :) I'll probably have a post for people that want to make new banners up in the next few days.

I do like to go back through and look every now and then, myself. Hope things smooth out for you in RL.
