Monday: Cowboys
May. 27th, 2013 12:41 amHey, y'all! I'm
langstonlover and I'll be your host for comment_fic this week. Let me just say I'm really excited to be here, and I hope we have a fun week together.
Now Let's get things started shall we? To kick of our week today's theme will be Cowboys. One of my most favorite things in the world! Post some prompts of some of your favorite western hero's or modern day cowboys. You can have someone who isn't normally considered a cowboy pretend to be one. You can even get romantic and have a little cowboy role play ;) Anything goes as long as it involves Cowboys in some way. Happy prompting guys!
Oh and before I forget, here are the rules...
Here are some examples
Crossfire Trail, JT/Rock, "I'm gonna ride you like a buckin' bronc, and put you away wet."
Leverage, Eliot/Hardison, Hardison's fantasy is Eliot wearing nothing but a old cowboy hat
Angel, Lindsey/Angel, Angel likes it when Lindsey uses his cowboy skills in the bedroom
Happy Prompting Everyone!!!

Date: 2013-05-27 05:51 pm (UTC)“Got intel that says AIM is operating out of a dude ranch in Texas,” Fury answered not bothering to hide how amusing he finds the idea of a bunch of evil scientists masquerading as cowboys.
“Send Sitwell,” Phil countered. “He has more experience with horses than I do.”
“That’s the point, Phil.”
Phil sighed in resignation. “Alright, but you’ll owe me big time.”
“Two weeks vacation with Barton anywhere the two of you would like to go,” Fury suggested with a twinkle of mirth in his good eye.
Phil placed the cowboy hat on his head and held out his hand. “We’ve got a deal, partner,” he said with a lazy drawl.
Fury chuckled, shook Phil’s hand and left to let his best agent work on his plan of attack.

Date: 2013-05-29 01:58 pm (UTC)"Damn it, Jim, you can't do that!" McCoy exclaimed in frustration as he watched Kirk press a whiskey-soaked red bandana to Spock's leg wound. After the horse had thrown Spock, McCoy and a ranch hand carried Spock into the barn while Kirk rushed into the house and grabbed the first vaguely medical item he'd seen: a bottle of whiskey. Before McCoy could stop him, Kirk had uncorked it and glugged a liberal amount onto the bandana.
Kirk paid McCoy no attention as he was focused on Spock's pained face. "You fool, Spock. You should know by now that horses don't respond to logic. How many times do I have to tell you, use your human side when you're dealing with them." He put a hand to Spock's face. "I can't lose you."
Spock groaned, lying in the straw on the floor of the barn. "You are correct. I will endeavor to remember that fact. Horses are creatures of emotion alone." He looked Kirk in the eye. "You will not lose me, Captain. I am certain Doctor McCoy will make sure of that."
His gaze locked on Spock's, Kirk murmured, "I keep telling you, I'm not a Captain any more."
"You'll always be my Captain," Spock replied, eyelids drifting downward.
McCoy couldn't take it any more. "All right, enough of the mushy stuff. Get out of here with your idiotic cowboy medicine, Jim." He pushed Kirk out of the way and threw the sodden, smelly bandana to the side so he could examine Spock's crushed shin.
"Hey, that cowboy medicine has saved plenty of cows, Doctor McCoy, and a few men as well, in my time, so stuff it," Kirk said.
After examining the injury and cleaning it properly, McCoy said, "Looks clean, Spock. I think you'll be fine." He gave Spock an encouraging smile. "No thanks to your pal here," he continued, throwing Kirk a grimace. "Cowboy medicine," he grumbled. "It's a miracle you don't kill off all the cowboys on this ranch with your damn cowboy medicine. I can't be around here all the time to save you. I've got patients in town, you know."
Kirk smirked. "You love it out here, Bones. Don't deny it. You'd be bored without us, now that the war's over."
McCoy held back a grin. "Hmph."
"Thank you, Doctor," Spock said, color returning to his face. Kirk had taken his hand and was looking down at his head ranch hand with an expression that could only be described as adoring. McCoy was tempted to roll his eyes but he was used to Kirk and Spock's lovey-dovey ways and pretended he didn't notice. Everyone at the Bar Trek Ranch knew how things were between those two and they paid it no mind. Kirk and Spock had earned their respect a thousand times over, and besides, some even thought it was cute (mostly the gals).
When Kirk leaned in closer as if he were actually going to kiss Spock, McCoy decided it was time to slip out and leave them to their privacy. Kirk and Spock didn't even notice he was gone. As he walked out from the dark of the barn into the brilliant sunshine, McCoy shook his head. Those two might be eccentric, but he'd follow them to the ends of the earth if they asked.
