Thursday | Low Tech
Sep. 19th, 2013 12:17 amHey, guys~! Here’s another idea for you to ponder on as we approach the final stretch of this week...
Today's theme: low tech. The worlds of modern-day techies and futuristic sci-fi are going back to basics. Alternatively, worlds that already do just fine without silly things like computers or electricity are also welcome today.
A reminder of the rules:
Also, for the sake of our terrific coders, please remember to use the proper format for prompts.
Examples:
If the plot bunnies aren’t eating your brain today, don't forget to check out our archive of Lonely Prompts.
For more recent prompts to write (and fills to read), you can also use LJ’s advanced search options to limit keyword results to only comments in this community.
Okay, let’s get writing~! ^_^

Today's theme: low tech. The worlds of modern-day techies and futuristic sci-fi are going back to basics. Alternatively, worlds that already do just fine without silly things like computers or electricity are also welcome today.
A reminder of the rules:
+ No more than five prompts in a row
+ No more than three prompts per fandom
+ If one or more of your prompts is filled today, then you may prompt again
+ No spoilers within prompts until a week after the airdate/release
+ Warn for spoilers in bold and leave at least three spaces before the text
Also, for the sake of our terrific coders, please remember to use the proper format for prompts.
Examples:
For a single fandom:
The Avengers (MCU), Tony + Clint, "This 'primitive' bow has saved your ass, unlike that pile of scrap metal you’re dragging."
Eureka, Jack (+ or / Nathan) + Zoe, Fargo shuts down S.A.R.A.H. for two days of maintenance and Carter is embarrassed by how dependent on her he’s become
Grimm, author’s choice, the Internet and modern warfare are overrated
For multiple fandoms / crossovers:
Mythology/author’s choice, deities + humans, The gods have discovered a new method of both punishing mortals and entertaining themselves: inflicting major electrical power outages.

She sighs. "Are you 12?"
"You don't need your cellphone to live, Caroline," he says. "Back in the day, we didn't even have them."
"You also didn't have indoor plumbing or cars or, I don't know, printed books back in your day. You seem to enjoy all of those just fine."
He shrugs. "Yes, I do. I also use a cellphone. Was there a point in there somewhere?"
She crosses her arms and glares. "Seriously, give it back. What if Elena calls?"
He laughs. "Was that supposed to be an incentive?"
She speeds toward him, again, and he dodges her, turns the phone off, and sticks it in his jacket pocket. "Take a walk with me. One hour, no technology," he says.
"If I don't, are you going to keep my phone?"
He rolls his eyes, pulls the phone out of his pocket and tosses it to her.
She catches it, glances down at the screen, then slides it into her pocket without turning it on. "This doesn't mean you won."
"Oh, I don't know about that," he says, catching her gaze.
She just looks at him for a moment, then sighs and takes his arm. "You said something about a walk?"
