First theme of the week is Third Person Limited Point of View. That means that writers will be writing from the POV of someone who is not one of the primary characters/pairing.
Third person limited is actually a narrative mode; it has nothing to do with whether or not the point of view character is one of the primary characters.
I think you mean outside POV?
(And I wouldn't even bring it up, except that a poor understanding of narrative modes is one of the most common flaws I see in fanfic, and so I try to correct misinformation on the subject wherever I can.)
