MONDAY: Outsider Point of View

Hi! I'm darkhavens and I'll be your Guest Host this week.

First theme of the week is Third Person Limited Point of View* Outsider Point of View. That means that writers will be writing from the POV of someone who is not one of the primary characters/pairing.

Prompters may include the desired POV character, or leave the choice up to the writer.

Please think about our wonderful codemonkeys and use the correct format (the second is for crossovers).

I don't mean to step on toes, but:

Third person limited is actually a narrative mode; it has nothing to do with whether or not the point of view character is one of the primary characters.

I think you mean outside POV?

(And I wouldn't even bring it up, except that a poor understanding of narrative modes is one of the most common flaws I see in fanfic, and so I try to correct misinformation on the subject wherever I can.)

I did mean outide POV, and someone has already picked me up on it. I wasn't going to edit the post in case it confused people, but it's probably more confusing at it stands.

(In my defense, I'd been awake 24 hours when I posted. I knew what I meant to say, but... *g*)
