Hi! I'm
darkhavens and I'll be your Guest Host this week.
First theme of the week isThird Person Limited Point of View* Outsider Point of View. That means that writers will be writing from the POV of someone who is not one of the primary characters/pairing.
Prompters may include the desired POV character, or leave the choice up to the writer.
Please think about our wonderful codemonkeys and use the correct format (the second is for crossovers).
Fandom, Pairing, Prompt
Fandom1/Fandom2, Pairing, Prompt
DCU (Justice League), Batman/Flash, discovery (POV author's choice of JL characters)
Stargate Atlantis/Eureka, John/Rodney, Rodney and Nathan Stark share a history (POV Jack Carter)
Please remember not to post more than 5 prompts in a row and more than 3 prompts per fandom. If one or more of your prompts are answered, you can prompt again later in the day.
If you don't see anything you like, you can always Adopt a Lonely Prompt.
*Edited because composing a post after being awake for 24 hours is always a bad idea. I knew what I meant to say... ;)

Date: 2009-06-08 01:02 pm (UTC)When he's thinking rationally, he knows he's being irrational. It only takes one look to know that the relationship (and it's been six months, this is definitely a Relationship) has nothing to do with anything or anyone but the three people involved.
It still takes him by surprise when he drops back to the office an hour before anyone else should be there and finds Hardison chatting to Parker about their shared past in the system, Eliot sprawled out and over them both.
Their new job is picking up speed and Nate's pushing everyone hard. He pretends not to notice the way Eliot keeps Hardison's cup full of coffee when Nate asks him for another miracle. It's harder to ignore Parker who will bodily drag Hardison out of his chair once she feels he's been working long enough.
Hardison's been buying stock in a horse ranch in Texas, using money from his and Parker's accounts. Nate almost didn't catch it. But he knows the look in Eliot's eyes every time he sees a horse and rider ambling down a country road while the team whiz past on their way to a confrontation with their client's bank manager.
Parker's getting better about people - even goes out to bars and clubs with the team to celebrate. Nate carefully doesn't notice the way her boys fuss and polish her before going out. (He especially doesn't notice the blissed out smile when she comes out of the bathroom or the way Hardison and Eliot are wearing fresh pants.)
It strikes him then, propping up the bar and looking across at where the trio are bent over the jukebox, that maybe they're waiting for him to admit he knows. They're con-artists after all and Nate leads this team because they expect him to see through any bullshit they pull.
It's been months and Nathan has steadilly been running out of objections. The team hasn't suffered: no-one's screwed up: no-one's screwed on office furniture (he hopes, he hopes): Hardison's getting better about getting things perfect: Eliot's less tense, more relaxed: Parker smiles nearly daily now and Nate has to admit that they're happy.
It seems the least he can do to be happy for them.
