Quarterly Contest Announcement
Jun. 24th, 2009 06:27 amIt's that time again, time for our quarterly contest.
The contest period runs from midnight last night through 11:59 on 6/30. I meant to get this post up last night, but I forgot.
This time around we're focusing on Lonely Prompts. The big prize will go to the person who answers the most lonely prompts. There will be other prizes too...but we're not telling you what they're for...muahahahahahahahaha. *ahem* Sorry about that. The evil slipped out.
For the purposes of this contest, only prompts that were left prior to this week will count. Keep track of what you write. On Friday we will make a post for you to link your completed prompts in, along with the format to leave them in.
The format for telling us what you've written will be important if you want to be considered for any of the other prizes. We won't be bugging you to fix them, you get one shot to be included in all of the prize categories.
Sound like fun?
Also, we could use one or two more helpful helpers to aid us in the counting of contest entries. Ability to copy and paste information into an Excel spreadsheet is required. Please contact myself or
havenward if you're interested in helping out.

Date: 2009-06-24 05:25 pm (UTC)As to the format? I haven't decided yet myself, so I would make note of the date the prompt was left, who left it, pairing, prompt & random at a minimum.

Time source for synchronization is the LJ time stamp on your comments.
Please use the URL of the original prompt.
List the characters as per the prompt. If the prompt is author's choice, please list them as you'd see in a prompt. The same can be said of crossovers.
Please just list the user name, as that will make it easier for those counting to copy/paste into their spreadsheets.
I'll throw your last question to Amara to verify, but each person leaving contest submissions should double check their listings. We'll have a lot that we need to count, and the reason we do submissions this way is because we have stuff we need to take care of in real life in the mean time.

Date: 2009-06-30 10:07 pm (UTC)Ie:
Bones, Booth/Brennan, having a laugh
or:
Supernatural/Leverage, Dean/Sam/Eliot, bullets and blood
So when you're listing them for the contest, that portion of the contest entry should be the same. An example of a properly formatted contest entry:
Leverage/Burn Notice, Fi/Parker, Things my Girlfriend and I Have Argued About, http://community.livejournal.com/comment_fic/55386.html?thread=13214042#t13214042, cyphersushi, June 22

Date: 2009-06-30 11:08 pm (UTC)You can put exactly what the prompter put. Prompts listed as author's choice will still be counted, but makes certain aspects of our counting more difficult.
Please include the entire prompt as listed.

Date: 2009-06-30 11:13 pm (UTC)If you write an "author's choice" prompt and leave "author's choice" in your entry as the pairing, character or fandom, they will be counted in the total tally, however they will not be counted in any other prize categories that we, the mods, decide on in which character, fandom or pairing is important.
To ensure inclusion in ALL prize categories, please change "author's choice" or "anyone" prompts to the actual names of the fandoms & characters.
Thank you!
