Good Morrow my darlings! It is I,
classics_lover in full, flying, Stephen Fry-esque form :D Today is the beginning of my week of guest hosting duties, and I am seriously looking forward to seeing what everybody comes up with in terms of prompts and fills :D
Today's theme is Book Titles. Go find the title of a book, pick a fandom and characters and see how they fit together.
As a reminder, the rules are as follows:
No more than five prompts in a row
If your prompt is filled you may prompt again
No more than Three prompts in the same fandom
No spoilers in prompts
If your fill contains spoilers please Warn and leave plenty of space
Prompts should be formatted as follows:
Fandom, Character/character, prompt
Some examples to get the ball rolling:
Torchwood, any, A Natural History of Dragons
Assassin's Creed, Ezio/Leonardo, Leonardo's Shadow: Or, My Astonishing Life as Leonardo Da Vinci's Servant
Doctor Who, any Doctor + any Companion + any, I, Mona Lisa
Theme tag= Book Titles

Date: 2014-06-03 04:07 pm (UTC)Between one bite of cereal and the next the curiosity is gone and he stops caring about the when or the why. Somewhere between falling into bed together drunk, semi-regular not entirely sober conversations and patching each other up after missions that always go at least a little bad he had come to care for the man currently threatening the toaster with a screwdriver. Around half-meant insults and half-hearted pranks, complaining about each others taste in movies and too much take out, that care had turned into something warm and not entirely welcome that had settled in his chest and made him seek Tony out more often than not. And somewhere around all of that, around the absolutely crazy-amazing mess his life had become since a keycard and an address had shown up in his mailbox one day out of the blue, he had let that warm feeling solidify into something he could call love.
Tony it seemed, while he was taking another bite of cereal and starting to warm up to the idea, had finally won his fight with the appliance and walked over to him if the warm hand on his shoulder was any indication. The half-eaten, mostly-burnt pastry that was shoved in his direction snapped him out of it and he tilted his head back to look up at the man he loved, and when that man just rolled his eyes and stole what was left of Clint's coffee... well... Clint realized that maybe worse things had happened at three AM.

Date: 2014-11-07 01:50 pm (UTC)Utterly baffled, Hiram and Leroy watched as Rachel led her boyfriend into their living room to join their weekly family movie night. "Finn," Hiram ventured, "do you enjoy obscure musicals? It's Rachel's pick tonight, you know."
"Ah..." The boy blinked. "Yes?"
Hiram and Leroy exchanged glances, which led to Leroy asking for Rachel's help in the kitchen.
"How'd you get him to come, sweetheart?"
"I explained it was important that he bonded with the heretofore prominent male figures in my life." At her father's skeptical look, Rachel gave a huge sigh and confessed, "And I told him there'd be cake."

Veronica frowned at him. "And... you want my advice."
Wallace nodded eagerly.
"Seriously?" She tilted her head toward her boyfriend. "Because that's the expert on how to dump girlfriends...."
"Wait there, Mars," said expert protested. "What Wallace needs is the total destruction of any previous affection - right? Because it sounds like he's tried everything else."
"Everything," Wallace agreed. "And she won't go."
"See? And when it comes to alienating people permanently, " -Logan glanced at her fondly- "Veronica Mars, you're it."

Date: 2014-06-02 01:02 pm (UTC)Fill: Keladry of Mindelan
Date: 2014-06-02 06:20 pm (UTC)The unhorsed conservative snarled as he gracelessly regained his feet. Across the partition, Kel raised her visor and remained silent - the man had begun a tirade of spleen and umbrage, and it would be rude of her to interrupt.
Once he began repeating himself, Kel drew her sword and pointed it at him.
"Would you care to try your luck with a blade, My Lord, since your horse, or perhaps your lance or shield have failed you?" Kel asked sweetly. "I won't be so rude as to call the judgment of the gods into question, nor will I imply that you were sabotaged, as you have implied just now. I will, however, insist that this match was fairly won."
The irate Lord glared mutely at her and turned on his heel, striding off the field in high dudgeon, beckoning to his man of business and a squire or page as he went. The latter gathered up the man's horse and shield, leaving the shattered lance for the monitors to dispose of, while the man of business hailed Kel and offered the mighty purse of coins that the Lord had recklessly offered.
Thanking him, Kel turned Peachblossom to leave the field, when Neal and Raoul joined her.
"Was he saying what I think he was?" Raoul asked, grinning wickedly.
"That depends, my Lord, did you think he was casting aspersions on my skills, his equipment, the gods, my reputation, or all of those things? Because I'll give you a hint," Kel said with a wry smile.
Neal and Kel chorused, "it was all of those."
Raoul laughed aloud. "You would think that they would have learned by now that you've as much granite in your seat as Wyldon."
"What I don't understand, Kel, is why you let them say such things," Neal said, scowling mightily.
"Because it would be impolite to interrupt such magnificent rhetoric. And my mother raised me to be polite."
Raoul laughed again. "You and Alanna really need to spend more time together, Kel. She'd tell you well-behaved women seldom make history."
"I don't intend to make history, just to make people listen when women say they can take up arms," Kel protested.
"Kel, Kel, Kel, when will you learn that doing that is precisely how you're going to make history," Neal told her, smiling fondly.
"I'm not making history, precisely," Kel demurred. "I'm just reminding people that women were warriors until they were told not to. Women were warriors, knights, long ago."
"And because of you, now they can again," Raoul said, grinning, "which means you have made history. Whether you wanted to or not."
"And I did so while behaving myself," Kel added, slyly. Peachblossom snorted and shook his head in agreement. "Because I have you to misbehave for me," she assured the horse.

Date: 2014-06-02 06:57 pm (UTC)Reid pulls out his copy of Paradiso in Italian and begins reading aloud. She lies down and closes her eyes and listens. His voice is soft, quiet, and her smattering of Italian only allows her to understand the occasional word - Beatrice, celestial, eternal. She is comforted by the fullness of the sounds, the lush poetry from a time when evil was comprehensible.
She gradually lets herself drift into sleep, knowing that he will continue reading when she is well and out. She knows: after days like this, he needs the words as much as she does.

[fill] [Shin Megami Tensei IV | Flynn | PG]
Date: 2014-11-11 02:38 pm (UTC)Most angels didn't bleed like the same way demons did. They cracked and crumbled and left nothing behind to tell they were there at all, like dull statues reduced to dust. Once dead, the gentle winds of Purgatorium were enough to wash them away.
But the ones that did spill blood... Flynn realized the stench was the same as that of any other demon he had killed before. He almost laughed at the thought of Jonathan, who was probably somewhere kneeling in front of those disgusting archangels, but thinking of Jonathan made him think of Walter, and that killed any bitter amusement he might have felt.
Glancing at his side, Flynn felt a pang of sadness seeing Lucifer instead of Walter standing there. He believed in what he was fighting for, but he had never felt this lonely in his life before.

Date: 2014-11-08 04:18 am (UTC)On his first ride from Los Angeles to Sunnydale, Giles tried not to get too attached to the nice weather or the vintage car he'd gotten for a song. His stay in this country didn't promise to be long, unless the Council let him keep the next Slayer if he proved that this hellmouth was a true threat.
In the meanwhile he'd make do with Miss Summers. He'd do his best, of course, but his hopes weren't high. The girl would already be dead if not by Merrick's intervention, after all.
The trick, he thought, was not to get attached.
