Our Rules:
♥ No more than 5 prompts at a time.
♥ Only 3 prompts per fandom.
♥ No spoilers in the prompt. If there are spoilers in your fill, warn and leave space.
Some examples of today's theme:
+ Burn Notice, Michael, No More Mr. Nice Spy (Chuck Season 3 Tagline)
+ Chuck, Bryce(/Chuck), There was never just one. (The Bourne Identity tagline)
+ Any, any, "I been waitin' to smile / been holding it in for a while / I'll take you with me if I can / been dreamin' of this since a child..." (Partners theme song)
Not feeling today's theme? Check out our Lonely Prompts Archive and fill an old prompt. For more recent prompts, you can also use LJ's advanced search options to limit keyword results to only comments in this community.

Date: 2014-07-06 03:16 pm (UTC)MCU Fill: If I Can
Date: 2014-07-11 08:33 pm (UTC)The Winter Soldier looked up from cleaning his weapons against their return to the Red Room. Natalia was looking at him with that serious-faced mask she always wore when she was real, nothing but flickers of expression about the edges.
They both had times and seasons, days and hours when they became someone else and smiled or laughed as needed. It was part of being a spy. But Natalia did it better than he did. He only needed brute strength and skill. She needed to slip between personas as though they were her very self. When she took them off, there were no smiles underneath.
"Natalia." He set aside his gun and held out his arms so she could slide into them and settle on his lap. Her fingers wound tight into his hair; her forehead leaned against his.
"I'm leaving," she said.
He froze. She should not have told him this, his Natalia, his little flame. If they asked him, he would have to answer.
"They won't ask you," she whispered, her gaze steady and strong. She had read his worry in his eyes and the fractional tightening of his metal grip. "I want... James. I'll take you with me if I can."
The Winter Soldier looked at this woman who had once been a little girl dropped into the Red Room's arms from out the window of a burning building. He looked at what had grown from the girl he had trained and guarded among the other Black Widow candidates and their handlers. He looked at the light burning in his darkness between the freezings.
"You can't," he said flatly, certainly.
Under her soft trembling, there was steel that told him Natalia would do what needed to be done. She would leave without him.
He let her go, pushed her arms gently from him, and stood. She would go and she would smile and become the woman that little girl should have had not Ivan caught her and brought her to the Red Room and the KGB. She would go and leave the Winter Soldier in his dark prison because not even his Natalia was skilled enough to break him free.
"If they send me after you, I will kill you," he told her honestly, desolation in his heart if not his tone.
He saw the trembling leave her. She breathed in the Russian air. "You will try," she said.
She breathed out.

Date: 2014-07-07 06:04 pm (UTC)(Post Winter Soldier; spoilers for it. Also, talk of death/violence/torture)
He remembers falling. He remembers cold and dark and pain that faded too quickly to be good. He remembers shouting and sharp cuts and a pain that encompassed the world.
He remembers forgetting. It was a slow process, his breaking and reforming into their weapon. It took years. He remembers them all, now, and the decades of his slavery, the bloody fist of Hydra.
He remembers how long it took Bucky Barnes to die, and how hard a death it was.
He remembers faces. He remembers names. He remembers locations. The asset saw it all and never forgot. Their machine didn't burn it out of him; it blanketed the knowledge in snow and froze it to walls of ice, but they are shattered, now, fractals melting on the ground of his mind, and Bucky Barnes wields a fire that will raze them all.
He remembers. He knows secrets Hydra has long buried, and he knows the weaknesses, and he knows their procedures. He knows where all those in authority will run, will hide, will wait for the storm to pass.
The storm will not pass. He owes them 70 years of pain and blood and the cold of not-quite-death, and he remembers that Bucky Barnes always paid his debts.

Date: 2014-07-07 10:43 am (UTC)Oz blinked. "Does anyone actually say that?"
Xander's mouth dropped open, and he focused on Willow's new boyfriend. "Well. No. No one actually says that. That I'm aware of."
"So, you're just spouting nonsense?" Cordelia wanted to know. She clicked her tongue in disappointment. "I don't know what I see in you."
"If we can get back to the subject on hand," Giles said, tapping the old, smelly book in front of him.
"Ooh, right," Willow said, wriggling in her hard library chair, "with the evil, and the big celebration."
"Celebration of evil?" Buffy asked as she pushed through the library doorway, Angel following in her wake like a big, grumpy, far-too-attractive shadow, and Xander really wished he hadn't thought that. "What celebration of evil?"
"Ah, Buffy, Angel." Giles smiled briefly, taking off his glasses and polishing the lenses. "So good of you to drop by."
Buffy narrowed her eyes, perching on the end of the table. "So, what's going on? Some really big bad? It's about the time for another apocalypse, isn't it?"
Slipping his glasses back on, Giles sighed. "It's a - a celebration, of sorts, to bring about power when the Hastalath appears."
Angel finally spoke. "Hastalath?"
"Figures he's heard of it," Xander muttered, grunting when Cordelia thumped his stomach with the back of her hand.
"So, you are aware of it?"
"Only from Dru." Angel rubbed his chin, his decidedly masculine chin, and said, "I'll do some poking around and get back with you." Without waiting for anyone's response, he spun around and stalked off with his coat sailing behind him.
"That's how you make an exit," Cordelia said, nodding her appreciation.
"If we could focus on the Rastafarians?" Xander asked, a little desperate. Bad enough Buffy was with Angel, he really hated it when his girlfriend eyed up the vampire like he was a piece of meat.
"Yes, the Hastalath," Giles said, picking up his book, and starting to read. And if that wasn't a mood killer, Xander didn't know what was. If he could, he'd buy the Watcher-Dude a beer.

Date: 2014-07-07 12:07 am (UTC)Clint ( + Natasha) post-Winter Soldier
Date: 2014-07-07 06:21 pm (UTC)(post-Winter Soldier; spoilers for it.)
Clint knows that he shouldn't be on this team -- the smartest men in the world, Captain America, an alien warrior prince, and Tasha, the most dangerous of them all. He's a nobody, just an orphan raised as a carnie, just a mercenary who managed to snake a target right under SHIELD's nose, and instead of taking him out, Coulson brought him in and offered him a spot. But snipers are replaceable, and Clint always knew one day someone would get the best of him.
For a few weeks, as he hunted the Black Widow, he assumed it would be her. But instead of taking her out from a distance, he went in to talk to her, and he brought her home.
And then Loki. The wave of blue, the smoking helicarrier, the destruction in New York – Clint kept waiting for someone to arrest him, to lock him away, but after the dust settled, Hill told him to clear out and keep to the ground, so he did. While Tony dealt with terrorists and Thor did whatever the fuck in London and then Tasha and Captain America tore down SHIELD to show off its’ Hydra innards, Clint kept to back roads and wandered.
He waits for Tasha’s message (Safe :) stay lost) and keeps to his meandering course. He’s just another nobody.
Her next message is two weeks later and it makes him sit up straight from his sprawl on the ground. It’s in a code they haven’t used since Budapest and his eyes widen as he decodes it: Remember that time you hunted down a spider? Now you need to hunt down a ghost. Attached are the pertinent files, encrypted; it takes him all night to decrypt ‘em. After he does, he just shakes his head.
The Winter Soldier. Once, Captain America’s best friend, from back before he was Captain America. The only of her teachers that Tasha remembers fondly, not that he remembers her. Tasha is off being busy somewhere, and Captain America is tracking the Winter Soldier while also burning Hydra to the ground.
Clint hasn’t done anything since Hill told him to get lost, so of course Tasha sent him the (second?) most dangerous mission of his life.
He spends two days on the files: facts on the Soldier’s breaking/remaking, training, programming, past missions, and then the mission that broke it all into pieces. The last file is only what Tasha thinks the Soldier might do, where he might go. She’s thinking like an operative who just broke free, but she admits to him, in cold text, that she was never a person, before. The Soldier was.
“Well,” Clint says, stretching and packing up his kit. “Time to go ghost hunting.”

FILL: And the Butterflies and Bees [Disney Princesses, Aurora + Belle + Ariel]

As it turns out, the adventure finds her a lot quicker than she was expecting.
“So you’re an earthbender?” She asks Aurora, who only gives a sleepy nod in reply, “and you’re a non-bender? And yet you both fight crime together?”
“That…” Belle screws up her face for a moment, shrugs and sighs like it’s an easy enough boon to give, “is the simplified version of it, yes. Though I’d hardly term it fighting crime, and I do usually end up doing most of the work, and-“
An arrow flies past her ear and sticks, shuddering, in the wall. A second arrow quickly follows it, only to slam into a casually erected wall of rock that Aurora… Just stamped into being with nothing more than a little yawn and a dreamy smile. Whoa.
“-Okay, we really don’t have the time to talk about this now.”
“Awesome,” she can only breathe happily, and follow them into adventure with a headlong dash of her own. Who needs the Avatar, anyhow? She’s totally cool with this.
