Changes are coming!

First let me introduce myself. I am simplyn2deep but feel free to call me Liz. I'm the new owner of the community and for the time being, will remain the Calendar Keeper.

Second, like the subject says, changes are coming! but I hope they are for the better and will get things more active here. But this will also be a time a seeing if these new changes are working or if they need to be tweaked.

I will be looking over the suggestions left here and here, as well as incorporating some ideas that I've had in mind for the last week or so and speaking with the other mods.

Scheduling: I've been Calendar Keeper for about 2 years and will remain so until things are smoothed out. I will be speaking with the mods for how we should go about scheduling members to host daily themes and if the weekends should remain as they are. I'd like to cut down on the number of times we have to have a pinch hitter fill in a the absolute last minute due to a scheduled guest host not covering their week or not letting anyone know they wouldn't be available. The way I think this can be done is by not assigning guest hosting dates more than 2 months in advance. Any further and we run the risk of people becoming inactive and their reminder message going unnoticed.

Be a Guest Host: I'd like for members to take the time to head over to the guest host entry and sign up. Four weeks in November are open as December will be devoted to filling Lonely Prompts. Something to think about: For the coming year, there will be an option to cover a Lonely Prompts Week. This won't happen every month. See next point.

Lonely Prompts: While this year, December will be devoted to Lonely Prompts, I feel that in the coming year, a week should be given to filling these prompts so they don't built up and become forgotten. 3 times a year (April, August and December) or 4 times a year (March, June, September and December) will have the last week of the month for filling Lonely Prompts.

Tags: About 6 or 7 people expressed interest in helping with indexing/tagging entries: lanalucy, zippitgood, gehayi, lynne_monstr, zelda_addict, and raktajinos. If you are still interested in doing that, please let me know by leaving a comment with your email address or you can PM it to me. I'd like to start working on that now.

Other Mods: As far as I can tell, evil_little_dog, classics_lover, synnerxx and angelus2hot offered to be mods. If this is incorrect or there are others, please comment here and let me know.

Those were the main things I had in mind to focus on. If you have any other comments or suggestions, please feel free to leave them in the comments.

Just wanted to say that the ideas you've listed here look great! I'm glad that this comm is still going strong. ♥ It's pretty much my main reason to check LJ these days. (Plus, almost all of my posted fics atm are fills of c-f prompts!)

I might have offered to mod or help out earlier... maybe? (I don't remember. XD;;) I just started a new job and I'm still figuring out when I'll have time for fannish things, so could I get back you on that later? I'd like to help in some way, but I don't think I can definitively offer anything yet.
