TGIF, prompters!
nevcolleil here, on my last day as your guest host for this week. Today's theme is Ages. Any age-related prompts are welcome.
The rules:
♥ No more than five prompts in a row.
♥ No more than three prompts in the same fandom.
♥ No spoilers in prompts.
If your fill contains spoilers, warn and leave plenty of space.
Prompts should be formatted as follows:
Fandom, Character+/Character, Prompt
A few examples...
+ any, any/any, their relationship in his/her 20's, 30's, etc.
+ Once Upon a Time, any, aging again after being frozen in time for so long
+ X-Men: DOFP, Logan + Charles, Logan ends up in the past playing bodyguard to a young Charles
Not feeling any of today’s prompts? Visit the lonely prompt archive and brighten someone’s day. For more recent prompts to write, you can also use LJ’s advanced search options to limit keyword results to only comments in this community.

Date: 2014-09-26 11:55 pm (UTC)Sometimes, he wishes he could tell them, prove it to them, and watch every one of their heads explode.
He couldn't do that to her, though - not to mention what he'd have to reveal about himself in the process. Then, there's the suspicion that would instantly fall on the female Immortals, especially the far fewer older ones, like Amanda. She'd certainly be among the first hunted, if the information were to get out.
If he's being honest, he has to admit he's been tempted to go for his teacher's head, just as he's absolutely sure Duncan has been tempted by him. He thinks it's a good thing she never met him as Death, though he's not always sure if it's a good thing for her or for him. After all, she'd already been impossibly old at that point. He gets a funny feeling in his chest thinking about it sometimes, how she's probably forgotten more history than he's lived through.
He'd lied when he told Duncan it was all a blur before 5,000. It's true that he doesn't remember his childhood, doesn't know who took him in and raised him, if anyone. He doesn't remember his death, or how long he may or may not have wandered afterwards.
One of the first things he does remember, with startling clarity, is her - that first burst of presence across his senses, sitting with her as she gave meaning and purpose to his new life. It's a memory he revisits regularly, especially when he becomes someone else.
It's one of her many gifts to him, the unmatched feeling of being brand-new, and having everything in the world left to learn.

Date: 2014-09-26 03:50 pm (UTC)(Highlander, gen, Methos + a child.)
He finds the child three months after he leaves the Highlander and all his judgments behind. The child has yet to learn to walk or speak, and he knows that he should leave it at a hospital – but he needs something to do.
The child is female. He names her Salvation, only so that he can call her Sal.
.
Sal grows quickly, as mortals do. He reads to her in every language he has written in (which is, of course, every language on the planet and many that are no longer spoken) and she learns to speak most of them, to read, to write. She is a clever child.
They move constantly, to stay ahead of the Watchers and Hunters; it is an adventure. She does not attend school, the way most mortal children do – what could they teach her that he cannot?
.
Sal is ten when she asks why he looks so young.
He tells her the truth.
She asks, “Am I like you?”
He says, “No, my dear.”
She nods, considering. Then she asks, “Can you teach me like I am, anyway?”
He laughs. “I’m already doing that.”
.
Sal is fifteen the first time her heart is broken. She is eighteen when she thrashes a boy who tries to take what she does not want to give. She is twenty when Hunters catch up and she shoots them so that he can take their heads.
.
Sal is twenty-one when she asks, “Do you want me to leave?”
He looks at her. “Why would I want that?”
She shrugs. “I’m not a kid anymore. Maybe you’re tired of me.”
He tells her honestly, “Your entire lifespan is a blink. I’d like to spend every moment I possibly can with you.”
“Okay.” She nods. “Then I vote we go to Machu Picchu next.”
So they do.

and Mama's always right
and I'll always be bigger
than my baby sister
and my big sister will always
be able to help me
and my brother's the best
and the dog lives forever
and one day
one day
I'll know what to do no matter what
one day when I'm grown up like you

Fill, ASOIAF, Margaery Tyrell
Date: 2014-12-27 03:32 pm (UTC)But a crown has never just been her dream. Her father dreams of little grandchildren sitting on the Iron Throne with gold circlets gracing their foreheads, and he will stop at nothing to achieve it. Three marriages or twenty, Margaery is her father's tool for achieving his dream and the glory that comes with it. Whenever she sees her father or her newest little child husband, bitterness seeps into her mouth, but all she can do is smile as she has been taught and as a queen should do.
And she wears her golden crown. For it may weigh heavily, but at least it is a burden to be envious of.
