Hello, everyone. I’m
johnboy91719 and today's theme is titles of movies or books or TV shows. Prompts can be, unsurprisingly, the title of a book or movie or TV show. Episode titles count as well, but please also list the TV show the episode came from, just for anyone that is curious. You can also include the author of the book, if you'd like. Your fic can use the prompt in whatever fashion you'd like (a character is reading the book in question, your characters end up in the world of the prompt, etc.).
Just a few rules:
No more than five prompts in a row.
No more than three prompts in the same fandom.
Use the character's full names and fandom's full name for ease adding to the Lonely Prompts spreadsheet.
If your prompt or fill contains anything that can be a trigger for the reader, please add a warning for that to give the reader the chance to decide if they want to read or not.
No spoilers in prompts for a month after airing. Use the spoiler cut option found here.
If your fill contains spoilers, warn and leave plenty of space, or use the above mentioned spoiler cut.
Prompts should be formatted as follows: [Use the character's full names and fandom's full name]
Fandom, Character +/ Character, Prompt
Some examples to get the ball rolling...
+ Once Upon a Time, Elsa and Anna, Cold, Cold Heart by Tami Hoag
+ Gotham, anyone, Murder by Death
+ Avengers movieverse, anyone, Brothers & Sisters
We are now using AO3 to bookmark filled prompts. If you fill a prompt and post it to AO3 please add it to the Bite Sized Bits of Fic from 2015 collection. See further notes on this new option here.
Not feeling any of today’s prompts? Check out the just created Lonely Prompts Spreadsheet. For more recent prompts to write, you can also use LJ’s advanced search options to limit keyword results to only comments in this community.
While the Lonely Prompts Spreadsheet and LJ's advanced search options are available, bookmarking the links of prompts you like might work better for searching for in the future.

Date: 2015-02-12 01:55 am (UTC)No one ever thought she'd talk. But she does; she gets herself off the hook and tells all of Luthor's secrets, and when Lois asks her for an interview, she doesn't say no.
Well, all right. At first she says hell no, but Lois didn’t get where she is as a reporter without learning some persuasion. She offers to buy her dinner, offers her a night on the town, and Mercy says the last time she had one of those was before she started working for Luthor. So Lois grabs her recorder and they head to the fanciest restaurant around, get drunk on expensive wine, and by the morning Lois has a front page story.
That's supposed to be it. It's just. She wasn't expecting Mercy Graves to charm the pants off her, first metaphorically and then, another dinner and two lunches later, literally. There are lines you're supposed to draw as a reporter – and yeah, so she doesn't always stay behind them, Bruce Wayne being a major case in point, but. She does have ethics, whatever Clark Kent might say.
Maybe said ethics fly out the window where Mercy Graves' mouth is involved, but. Lois is just going to try not to think about it too much.

Date: 2015-02-15 12:25 am (UTC)Anna raised an eyebrow, patting her husband’s hand. “My, my. I don’t think you’ve had a relaxing moment in your life, Mr. Jarvis,” she teased, giving him that sly grin that always made him acquiesce to whatever whim she should have. “Tell me, my love, has your week been stressful for you?”
Jarvis sighed, eyes downcast on the breakfast dishes, but he couldn’t help but smile when Anna squeezed his fingers. “I’ve devoted my life to dangerous women, and though I know you’ll be the death of me, I would not have it any other way.”
Anna laughed, the gorgeous sound broad enough to shake the china in the cabinets and bring a flush to Jarvis’ face. “Oh, my darling man, you have had a long week.” She stood, unfolding her napkin from her dress, and slid into Jarvis’ lap. “The world is too much for you. Where shall we go this weekend? The ocean, the gardens? Tell me and it shall be ours.”
Jarvis ran his fingers through Anna’s hair, looking up at her with utter devotion in his eyes, gaze soft. “I think we should—” he was interrupted by a brisk knocking on the front door. He held Anna tighter to him, not wanting to let her go. “Speak of the danger.”
Anna laughed and closed her eyes, pressing her forehead to Jarvis’ for a moment before standing. “Perhaps our Margaret will have some ideas about our weekend plans. I’ll let her in, you gather the dishes, love.”
She strode to the clean, bright foyer and opened the door to bring in the scent of Peggy’s perfume—cognac, bergamot, a hint of rose. It was a scent she was becoming fast accustomed to, and she especially enjoyed it mixed with the spicy, masculine scent of her husband’s cologne. “Good morning, dear! What a sorry sight, you look like you haven’t slept a wink.”
Peggy smiled, face a bit drawn and tired, but looking pleased to see the Jarvis family as usual. “You know me, Anna. I’ll be just fine.” She peered into the house, following the sound of tinkling dishes. “I’ve interrupted your breakfast, I’m sorry. I seem to make a habit of that.”
“Nonsense,” Anna said, extending an arm to pull Peggy inside. “Between you and me, our man needs a bit of your love today. He’s worn down but not yet defeated.”
“Sounds about right,” Peggy said with a frown, looping her arm through Anna’s as they made their way back to the breakfast nook. “I told him he needs to snatch you and get away this weekend. I can handle Stark and whatever else comes my way.”
Anna looked at her, surprised. “That was your idea, Margaret? What a doll, you’re always looking after him so well.” She brought Peggy’s hand up for a kiss, pressing her lips to her palm. “Now I only wish you could join us.” She knew it was a fruitless desire, but she always made it known that Peggy was welcome in all aspects of their lives. It was tricky but not complicated, their love, and Anna wanted to make it work.
Jarvis appeared with the tea tray, cups enough for three. His face softened as he saw his wife and Peggy together, arm in arm, and leaned in to press a kiss to Peggy’s cheek. “Good morning, Miss Carter. Please sit before we take our leave, I’ll not have you hungry all through the day again.”
Anna and Peggy both stifled a laugh. “Who’s taking care of whom?” Peggy murmured, leaning in so her brunette curls mixed with Anna’s dark hair.
“I knew it would be frightening,” Jarvis said, half a smile hidden as he ducked down to serve tea. “Having you two together. What a lethal combination.”
“My dear, you have no idea,” Anna said, winking at Peggy as they sat down at the table. “Now, let us plan for the weekend. Margaret, tell us, what’s there to do in this city?” They spoke like they’d always been together, like there was nothing as comfortable for them as their time at that table together. If anyone would have walked by the picture window, they would have seen three people having tea, eyes wandering and hands linked, a mysterious image but undeniably filled with love and warmth.

Date: 2015-12-15 11:17 pm (UTC)He tells her, "That's not how it's supposed to be, Judy." But Carl knows even more people than she does -- names he whispers to her when she can't sleep, telling her stories of Dale with the giant car that ran for weeks and Beth who sang the prettiest lullabies and Tyreese who carried her all winter back to her daddy. He just doesn't like to hear them all piled on top of each other. They all have a story, he tells her, and they respect their memories by taking the time to tell it.
There was Abraham who chewed on cigars as big as Carl's thumb, Hershel that knew the secrets to fixing up humans from sickness and injury, T-Dog who sacrificed his life to prevent walkers overrunning the rest of the group, Aaron who took a chance on half-feral strangers.
Lori has whole days of stories, some of them even from Before when Carl was only as big as Judith is now. Judith can't imagine Carl being her size, but he puts his hat on her head and nods and says it fell down to his eyes just as far. Then he gets serious and grabs both of her hands in his, pulling her close to listen. "It's time for you to start remembering too, Judy. We forget the people we love and we forget who we are."
So sometimes when Judith can't sleep she's the one telling stories to Carl about Glenn whose speed and lightning quick strategy squeezed them through impossible situations more than once, about Jessie who could offer comfort with nothing more than a dull pair of barber's scissors and gentle hands carding through her hair, about Daryl who called her Li'l Asskicker and carried her on his back when her feet hurt from so much walking.
They whisper their stories to each other through the moonlit gloom, and if their dad is on watch he'll smile the one corner of his mouth that ever smiles and rest his hands on their shoulders. Sometimes Maggie overhears them and she'll bring fussy Paul over, who quiets as they whisper his heritage to him. Sometimes Sasha sits behind them and listens like she's trying not to forget herself.
The number of dead people Judith knows never stops growing, but she learns to stop rattling them off like it's only the quantity that matters. She remembers the unique details of all their lives, begins to understand how each person in her family has shaped who she is today and who she wants to be tomorrow. When she hears Paul walking behind her, chanting under his voice to the rhythm of his footsteps, she reaches back and grasps both of his hands in hers. "No, Paul," she tells him. "That's not how it's supposed to be."
