Greetings, everyone~! ♫ I'm creepy_shetan and it's my pleasure to be your (fourth-time) host this week. =^.^=

Today's theme: 200 words. Prompts can be whatever you like, but fills must be an even 200 words long.

A reminder of the rules:

✦ Use the full names of the fandom(s) and character(s) in your prompts
✦ No more than five prompts in a row per day
✦ No more than three prompts per fandom per day
✦ If one or more of your prompts is filled today, then you may prompt again
✦ Include a clear warning for any possible triggers in prompts and fills
✦ For prompts, no spoilers until one month after the airdate/release (use a spoiler tag to hide part or all of your prompt)
✦ For fills, warn for spoilers clearly, and either leave blank space before the text or hide the text under a spoiler tag

Agent Carter/MCU, Steve Rogers/Agent Sousa or Steve/Bucky/Sousa, that one time during the war

He’s only met Captain America once.

And, you know, that shouldn’t matter. There are people, even people at the SSR who should know better, who’ve only glimpsed him in a parade and spun an epic out of it. There was a connection, they’ll insist at the top of their lungs, they felt something pass between them. It was special.

All sane people, even Thompson - who’s a jerk and a bully and a lot of other less than complimentary things besides, look down on those sort of people. Laugh behind their backs, sneer and mock whenever they open their mouths. The lowest of the low, is the general consensus, fame whores with nothing better to do with their lives.

(Peggy doesn’t laugh, or sneer, or even mock. She only goes very quiet, and very pale, and excuses herself quickly from the room. Nobody ever follows her. Nobody, not even Thompson with his oblivious puppy crush, ever dares.)

…But, at the end of the day, that’s not why he never tells anybody. He’s already pretty much the lowest of the low, being a fame whore couldn’t make it any worse. No. He never tells anybody, not even Peggy, because he remembers that day in the middle of the war. Remembers how Captain America - the Cap – had looked at him, and shook his hand, and smiled, and made a weary comment about the weather. Remembers how he hadn’t been Captain America, saviour of the world, in that moment – but simply Steve Rogers, boy from Brooklyn with bright eyes and dirty hair and a ready smile waiting for anybody who came close.

It was actually special to him, is what he’s saying… And he has so very few special things left to him now, he thinks he’s allowed to keep this one.
