Monday: genre AU
Mar. 9th, 2015 12:02 am‘sup, y’all, today’s theme is Genre AUs. Take your favorites and plop them into a different genre entirely – like Harry Potter and his friends in space or the Stargate crew in another time.
The rules, as ever, are:
1. No more than five prompts in a row.
2. No more than three prompts in a fandom.
3. Use the character's full name and fandom's full name for ease adding to the Lonely Prompts spreadsheet.
4. If your prompt or fill contains anything that can be a trigger for the reader, please add a warning for that to give the reader the chance to decide if they want to read or not.
5. No spoilers in prompts for a month after airing. Use the spoiler cut option found here.
6. If your fill contains spoilers, warn and leave plenty of space, or use the above mentioned spoiler cut.
Prompts should be formatted as follows:
Fandom, Character+/Character, Prompt
For example:
Avengers movieverse , Steve Rogers/Bucky Barnes, Mine with Bucky as the narrator
The Hobbit (Jackson films), Fili/Kili, Fáelán is an agent of any alphabet agency; Cillian is either a grifter or hitter (and neither of them realizes that, once upon a time, he had a brother)
We are now using AO3 to bookmark filled prompts. If you fill a prompt and post it to AO3 please add it to the Bite Sized Bits of Fic from 2015 collection.

"And I see you have yet another invention!" Amanda said, noticing the alterations to Rebecca's parasol.
"Indeed! When open it releases a targeted ray of light that can slice through metal. How very perceptive of you."
"Oh, a thief always notices pretty things," Amanda said with a wink.
"You know, if you put that cleverness toward something other than larceny...."
"I would have so much less fun," Amanda said, with a cheeky grin, and Rebecca couldn't help but laugh.

Date: 2015-03-10 06:45 pm (UTC)Barry knows this.
"I know, I know," he tells his sister, after she's harassed him about it for maybe the thousandth time. "Len isn't really the romantic type, but-"
"I was going to say you two aren't really a secret," says Iris, still staring him down.
Barry's face burns red. Suddenly Mr. Grovesnor, their somewhat inept Social Sciences teacher, seems so much more interesting.
"Barry-"
Barry can only make one excuse for actually inviting that drama into his life. It's not like he needs the excitement - with friends like his and a surrogate dad who's a cop... and his history.
"He's worth it, Iris," he says, as quietly as he can. He can't really afford to get caught talking in class. Principal Singh is already on his ass for all of the tardies that have landed him in lunch detention.
"Oh, Barry..." Iris sighs.
Barry doesn't look in her direction for the rest of the period. He knows she means well... but they're not going to agree on this, and Barry doesn't really see the point in trying.
It's not like Len wants anything to do with Barry's family.
When the bell rings, Barry has a hard lump stuck at the base of his throat, but a buzz under his skin. The end of fifth period means lunchtime for Barry - which means, in the fifteen minutes before he has to show up to detention, Barry can see his not-so-secret boyfriend without the whole school watching his every move.
If he can reach the bleachers across campus fast enough...
Luckily, Barry is on the track team.

Date: 2015-03-15 01:04 am (UTC)"Oh, no," Bruce groans. "You take care of him. I have to go count the safe."
"You just counted the safe five minutes ago," Tim says.
"Then I need to bus some tables."
"Already did that."
"Wash the dishes?"
"Barbara's taking care of that, and she said if anyone tried to take over while she's jamming to her music back there, there'd be a riot."
"Then –" Bruce starts, but then he stops chatting with the ladies outside – Bruce is not jealous – and enters the shop.
"Oh hey, I'm gonna take my lunch," Tim says, looking at a watch he doesn't even have. "Red's all yours." If he weren't Bruce's best employee, Bruce would fire him.
"Wait five minutes and I'll give you a four dollar raise," Bruce says.
"Sorry, man," Tim grins, untying his apron. Wally approaches the register, grinning wide and bright and making Bruce want to hide under the counter. "See ya in a bit," Tim says.
Bruce glares after him, but he can't manage it for very long because then Wally's right there. "Hi," Wally says.
Bruce sighs. "What can I get you?" He already knows. He starts keying in the buttons before Wally even starts on his order – coffee, cream and thirty-seven sugars, a double espresso, three blueberry muffins –
"And do you still have those little chocolate covered espresso bean thingies?"
Bruce makes a face before he can help it. "Those things stain your teeth."
"Worried about my teeth, are ya?" Wally asks, and Bruce does not blush.
He also doesn't answer, just asks, "Can I get you anything else?"
"Well," Wally says, dragging the word out until Bruce is sure Wally's going to be here until closing time. It's eight in the damn morning, and there's not enough coffee in the world -
"I was thinking you could get me a date," Wally says.
Bruce sets the muffins down, doesn't stare when Wally immediately starts in on one. "A date," he says, thinking of the girls Wally was talking to outside, thinking of Barbara, thinking –
"Yeah," Wally says. "See, there's this guy I keep coming in here to oogle at. Kinda grouchy, like maybe he's not sampling enough of his own product, but super handsome. Like, movie star good looks underneath the perpetual scowl."
"It's not a scowl -" Bruce starts, then stops, feels himself blushing like a teenager.
Wally beams, and Bruce does not notice the way the morning light coming in through the windows highlights his freckles and the bits of gold in his red hair. "So you do know him," Wally says. "Do you think he'd say yes?"
"If he doesn't," Tim calls out from four tables away, "I'm quitting."
Bruce sighs again. It's so hard to find good help. "Fine," Bruce says.
"Wow," Wally says. "I think that was almost enthusiasm there." He pays for his things, downs his espresso in one go as usual. "You just wait. I'll get you to smile yet."
"Just get out of here," Bruce says. "There are other customers."
"But not ones as cute as me, right?" Bruce says nothing. He might be difficult, but he's not a liar. "That's what I thought," Wally says. "I'll see you later tonight."
Wally saunters out of the shop, but Bruce has to turn away for a moment before helping the next customer, because he can't stop grinning.
