Wednesday: Famous Words
May. 6th, 2015 08:28 amHello, everyone. I’m
pr3tz3ls and today's theme is Famous Words aka Quotes. Prompts can be about anything as long as a quote (from a person, book, movie, etc.) is used.
Just a few rules:
No more than five prompts in a row.
No more than three prompts in the same fandom.
Use the character's full names and fandom's full name for ease adding to the Lonely Prompts spreadsheet.
If your prompt or fill contains anything that can be a trigger for the reader, please add a warning for that to give the reader the chance to decide if they want to read or not.
No spoilers in prompts for a month after airing. Use the spoiler cut option found here.
If your fill contains spoilers, warn and leave plenty of space, or use the above mentioned spoiler cut.
Prompts should be formatted as follows: [Use the character's full names and fandom's full name]
Fandom, Character +/ Character, Prompt
Some examples to get the ball rolling...
+ Agents of Shield, any, curse your sudden but inevitable betrayal (Firefly}
+ Any, any, Courage is the art of being the only one who knows you're scared to death. (Harold Wilson)
+ MCU, Bucky +/ any, In the depth of winter, I finally learned that within me there lay an invincible summer.(Albert Camus)
We are now using AO3 to bookmark filled prompts. If you fill a prompt and post it to AO3 please add it to the Bite Sized Bits of Fic from 2015 collection. See further notes on this new option here.
Not feeling any of today’s prompts? Check out the just created Lonely Prompts Spreadsheet. For more recent prompts to write, you can also use LJ’s advanced search options to limit keyword results to only comments in this community.
While the Lonely Prompts Spreadsheet and LJ's advanced search options are available, bookmarking the links of prompts you like might work better for searching for in the future.

Date: 2015-05-06 12:30 pm (UTC)Fill, OITNB Maria/Yadriel + baby
Date: 2015-05-08 04:32 pm (UTC)Generally, Yadriel only speaks up when it's important but this time every word he could possibly say is important. It's so important that it sometimes catches the words in his throat, chokes him with the love of his precious baby girl and the fear of messing her up.
Maria was right, of course. He'd been looking at baby books in the library before she even said anything but her saying it to him straight out made it real. Maybe his baby girl would be quiet like him when she grew up, but right now she needed all the words she could get.
So Yadriel swallows the fear as best he can and starts talking. Anything and everything he can think of. Stories about his past, the plot of tv shows and books, running commentary on people they pass on the street. He sings to her.
It's still hard to talk to anyone but her, even Maria who has always understood him even when Yadriel can't verbalize. The words still crowd each other in his mouth and throat until he thinks he'll suffocate before he can spit them out in the right order but he's trying.
He's so scared but for his daughter he'll always try.

Date: 2015-05-06 01:17 pm (UTC)Avengers movieverse, Steve Rogers + ex-Winter Soldier, You're not friends. You'll never be friends. You'll be in love till it kills you both. You'll fight, and you'll shag, and you'll hate each other till it makes you quiver, but you'll never be friends. Love isn't brains, children, it's blood... blood screaming inside you to work its will.

Date: 2015-05-06 01:20 pm (UTC)Leverage, Hardison/Parker/Eliot,
“Happy birthday!”
“That’s my watch.”
“That way I knew you’d like it.”

Date: 2015-06-24 11:02 pm (UTC)“That’s ... my watch,” Hardison said.
“That way I knew you’d like it.”
"Thanks," Hardison said with a smile. "I love it."
"Happy birthday, nerd," Eliot said, carrying in a punching bag and tossing it on the floor. "Go hang that up in the training room."
"Why would I want a punching bag for my birthday?"
"Your skills are lacking. We're going to start training regularly. For your own safety," Eliot said calmly, as if it were a very logical gift.
Parker asked, "How come they don't make punching bags that can punch people? Otherwise, why call them punching bags? I call false advertising."
"Hey, Parker, you want to train with Eliot instead of me?" Hardison asked. "That can be, like, your bonus birthday present to me."
"Sure!" Parker said, then tried to kick Eliot in the shins. Her thief speed barely allowed for Eliot to dodge, at which point he stormed out, yelling "Dammit, Hardison!"
"I'll get him later," Parker promised Hardison.
"You know I love you, right?" he said.
She smiled. "I know!"

Date: 2015-06-24 10:56 pm (UTC)Cisco hesitated, looking at Barry carefully. "You were scared. That I would choose Wells over you."
"It's not -- I mean, a little. It would be understandable that you might not believe me, if it hadn't been for..."
"For my super freaky explosion-induced abilities? That I am still very bitter about getting instead of something awesome like superspeed or controlling the weather?"
"Yeah," Barry said with a small smile.
Cisco looked down. "Wells did a lot for me. Eobard, I mean. Which is still ... weird. But, he was just helping himself. I like to think that I would figure that out with or without powers."
"You did figure it out. In that other timeline."
Cisco smiled, held Barry's hand. "One more reason why it would be the worst decision ever to choose anyone over you. I was about to expose Eobard and he put a fist through my chest. I exposed your identity to Snart and you apologized to me."
"You should never have been in that position," Barry said.
"And I wish you never had to be in the position of worrying if I would have your back. But I understand why you were scared."
"I don't think I could have survived if you and Caitlin weren't with me. And I don't just mean literal survival, you know?" He spoke softly, grimacing.
"...I think learning about Eobard almost broke us both," Cisco said, moving a comforting hand to Barry's waist. "But it didn't."
Barry leaned in, kissed him softly, then leaned against Cisco's shoulder.
"Guess we don't break that easy."
"Guess not."
