Thursday: Happily Ever After
May. 7th, 2015 06:57 amHello, everyone. I’m
pr3tz3ls and today's theme is Happily Ever After. Prompts can be fairy tale themed or be about characters getting a happy ending.
Just a few rules:
No more than five prompts in a row.
No more than three prompts in the same fandom.
Use the character's full names and fandom's full name for ease adding to the Lonely Prompts spreadsheet.
If your prompt or fill contains anything that can be a trigger for the reader, please add a warning for that to give the reader the chance to decide if they want to read or not.
No spoilers in prompts for a month after airing. Use the spoiler cut option found here.
If your fill contains spoilers, warn and leave plenty of space, or use the above mentioned spoiler cut.
Prompts should be formatted as follows: [Use the character's full names and fandom's full name]
Fandom, Character +/ Character, Prompt
Some examples to get the ball rolling...
+ Leverage, Parker +/ any, Goldilocks and the three bears
+ Any, any/any, m/m, f/f, or reverse role!m/f Cinderella
+ MCU, Steve Roger +/ Bucky Barnes, The Snow Queen
We are now using AO3 to bookmark filled prompts. If you fill a prompt and post it to AO3 please add it to the Bite Sized Bits of Fic from 2015 collection. See further notes on this new option here.
Not feeling any of today’s prompts? Check out the just created Lonely Prompts Spreadsheet. For more recent prompts to write, you can also use LJ’s advanced search options to limit keyword results to only comments in this community.
While the Lonely Prompts Spreadsheet and LJ's advanced search options are available, bookmarking the links of prompts you like might work better for searching for in the future.

Date: 2015-05-08 08:06 pm (UTC)Ever since she ran away from home at the age of fourteen with nothing but the nightdress she stood in, Debra always thought she'd be alone. Myriad trust issues, several failed relationships, to say nothing of years of seeing the worst of humanity when working with the FBI, did nothing to change her mind and when she lay buried alive in a coffin in the Maryland woods, at least part of her tears were over the fact that, for an all too brief recent while, something had.
Someone had.
Someone had changed her mind and then, in an unexpected turn of events, the woman who had always had to save herself got saved, by the very man she'd just been thinking about.
"My knight in shining armour," she quipped later in the hospital and Mike actually blushed.
Not that it was quite the happy ending, not then. They'd both been through too much for that, enough to keep the Bureau therapists in business for months. It had been a rough couple of years and there were times when each of them thought that they wouldn't make it, most notably on the anniversary of Joe Carroll's death, when the New York subway got attacked and the FBI came calling and Debra flat out told Mike that if he went with them, she wouldn't be there when he came back.
He'd considered it, but he'd closed the door on that part of his life, held her instead.
It was, Debra knew, a good start.
And a year later, when he held her hand as a sonographer moved a wand over her stomach and the sound of a rapid heartbeat filled the room, she knew it was so much more than that.

Date: 2015-06-24 10:41 pm (UTC)John wonders if it's because they need the rest.
He watches Oliver smile for the public, for his family, eyes glassy and blank. He watches Oliver kill evil men, stare just as empty. He watches especially closely as he is with Oliver, as Oliver's eyelashes flutter, as pleasure, rough hands and mouths, overtake them.
Even then, Oliver's eyes look hollow.
He is still on that island.
Sometimes, when Oliver sleeps -- and wasn't it a miracle, the night that Oliver decided that John was safe enough to sleep in front of -- he wants to kiss Oliver, hard and deep, to suck the poison of that island from his lips, until it's no longer running through his veins, no longer seeping into every smile, every moan. But he knows there will never be anything he can do to make Oliver wake up before he's ready.
He hopes that day will come.
Until then, he watches closely. He waits.

Date: 2015-05-08 08:10 pm (UTC)Sighing, he hung up his coat, toed off his shoes and made his way up the stairs. A glass of bourbon was tempting, sure, but not as tempting as his bed.
He smiled as he closed the bedroom door behind him, moving closer on tiptoe towards the bed and the woman who awaited him there. Caitlin had fallen asleep facing the door as she waited for him, curled up on her side. She had the blankets tightly wrapped around her, so tightly that he could just about see the collar of her cosiest and warmest pyjamas peeking out. Her cheeks were flushed with sleep, her breathing deep and even and the sight of her was enough to take his breath away.
There were a million reasons why he'd thought they would never work out - meta humans, the age difference, Ronnie, to name but three - but every time he saw her like this, he thanked his lucky stars they'd taken the chance.
"Stop standing there and get over here and warm me up."
Caitlin hadn't opened her eyes but her voice brooked no argument and he did what, a few minutes ago, he felt like he'd never be able to do again.
He laughed.
Then he did as he was told.

Date: 2015-05-07 11:57 pm (UTC)Fill: Parker’s take on five fairy tales
Date: 2015-05-08 01:29 am (UTC)"Boring!" Parker said.
"Boring?" Eliot repeated, but he was smirking and getting comfortable. He and Hardison were going to wind their girl up like they had with the conversation on conspiracies.
"If Jack was a good thief, he'd be in and out and the giant wouldn't know until he was long gone. If Jack was a bad thief than it'd be a bad story."
"Red Riding Hood?"
"The wolf pick-pocketed the goodies early on and no one had to die."
"Cinderella?"
"Pft. Nate's really the fairy godmother and cons the step mother and sisters out of her house."
"Princess and the Frog?"
"The frog is the ultimate grifter. That's an interesting story."
Eliot wanted to hear her version, but Hardison tossed out. "The Little Mermaid?"
"She steals her voice back from the witch." Parker's eyes glowed. "I have ideas on how to get it done."
This time both men leaned forward. "How would you have done it?" they asked.

Date: 2015-05-08 03:26 am (UTC)It had been a mistake to let Clint meet America, she sees that now. To let him meet any of her friends, really, but America in particular. But there's no a lot to be done about it while she's surrounded by AIM goons with yellow buckets on their heads.
"I told you to stop calling me that," Kate shouts back, then lets a pair of arrows fly. They both hit their mark, flipping a bucket-man flat on his back.
"Okay, Katie." Clint is quiet for a moment, holding his breath while he takes a shot. "Check your six."
Kate spins around and doesn't bother nocking another arrow, just stabs the point into the arm of the nearest henchman. "Not that one, either," she hisses into her comm.
"Fine, fine," Clint says. She can't see him anymore, but she can hear his arrows whistling with both her free ear and the comms. She thinks that's the end of it, but then her earpiece crackles. "Hey, Katherine, where'd you go?"
Kate channels her urge to scream into shooting AIM agents. Knee, thigh, heart. All the places she'd like to shoot Clint. It's like one of those dolls with the pins, but so much more satisfying. (Thigh again, verging on the groin.)
"Kate?" her earpiece says. "Kate, no really. I could use some backup over here."
Kate sighs exaggeratedly in a way she knows from experience will cause painfully loud static, and hopes Clint has his hearing aids turned all the way up. Then it's an arrow to the nearest visor and she's on her way. Annoying or not, she just can't let him down.
