Hello, everyone. I’m
truthwritaslies and today's theme is Tantalus! Prompts can be "anything desired that is so close and yet just out of reach".
Just a few rules:
No more than five prompts in a row.
No more than three prompts in the same fandom.
Use the character's full names and fandom's full name for ease adding to the Lonely Prompts spreadsheet.
If your prompt or fill contains anything that can be a trigger for the reader, please add a warning for that to give the reader the chance to decide if they want to read or not.
No spoilers in prompts for a month after airing. Use the spoiler cut option found here.
If your fill contains spoilers, warn and leave plenty of space, or use the above mentioned spoiler cut.
Prompts should be formatted as follows: [Use the character's full names and fandom's full name]
Fandom, Character +/ Character, Prompt
Some examples to get the ball rolling...
Batman, Harley Quinn/ The Joker, "I want you to love me for real."
Hawkeye, Hawkeye + Pizza Dog, please drop the food on the floor, please drop the food on the floor, please drop the food on the floor
Daredevil, Wesley + Fisk, If he cannot be the tyrant, then he will be the power behind the throne
We are now using AO3 to bookmark filled prompts. If you fill a prompt and post it to AO3 please add it to the Bite Sized Bits of Fic from 2015 collection. See further notes on this new option here.
Not feeling any of today’s prompts? Check out the just created Lonely Prompts Spreadsheet. For more recent prompts to write, you can also use LJ’s advanced search options to limit keyword results to only comments in this community.
While the Lonely Prompts Spreadsheet and LJ's advanced search options are available, bookmarking the links of prompts you like might work better for searching for in the future.

Date: 2015-05-19 05:45 am (UTC)Harry Potter, anyone who died in canon, so much wasted potential
Fill
Date: 2015-05-19 08:35 am (UTC)And really, that's all Cedric had been when he'd died. Three years older than Harry at the time but a boy all the same.
Perhaps it was that Cedric was the first person he had really seen die with such stark finality. Perhaps it was the shock of Voldemorts true resurrection or the casual disrespect he and his minions showed the corpse.
But it is probably Cedric's youth that stands out so starkly. The sheer wasted potential of him. Another year or two or five might have made the difference, made him just another face accusing Harry of not doing enough, of not fighting hard enough, not taking the fight to Voldemort when he was still weak enough to need somebody's help.
On good nights, Cedric continuously turns empty eyes on Harry, impact with the ground pushing one last gasp from between barely parted lips. His hand falls limply down beside him, his wand falling to lie forgotten in the graveyard when Harry drags his corpse home.
On the bad ones Cedric is grown, with a partner that Harry can never clearly see, and he is happy. Happy until that hideous green spell hits him again and steals away all his potential years, his potential happiness. Until he's just a boy again: with graveyard dirt on his face and empty, empty eyes.
