Tuesday: Tantalus!

Hello, everyone. I’m truthwritaslies and today's theme is Tantalus! Prompts can be "anything desired that is so close and yet just out of reach".

Just a few rules:
No more than five prompts in a row.
No more than three prompts in the same fandom.
Use the character's full names and fandom's full name for ease adding to the Lonely Prompts spreadsheet.
If your prompt or fill contains anything that can be a trigger for the reader, please add a warning for that to give the reader the chance to decide if they want to read or not.
No spoilers in prompts for a month after airing. Use the spoiler cut option found here.
If your fill contains spoilers, warn and leave plenty of space, or use the above mentioned spoiler cut.

He did not ask. He never asked. Jason always knew if wanted, all he had to do was say so. One moment of weakness and he'd be Bruce's. One moment of weakness and he'd give up himself for a brief time of happiness. He can't stay Bruce's. To agree to all the demands and expectations and never be good enough was impossible for him. It was not in him to be anyone but himself anyone.

Bruce wanted Jason but he wanted what Jason was and what Jason could have been if not for death. He does not want Jason as he was now.

Jason ached and felt hollowed out with how much he wanted Bruce. To give into that want was to commit suicide and Jason already died once out of love. He did not have it in him to die for love again.

Working with Bruce, for those brief instances when Batman turned a blind eye to excessive violence and guns and Jason held himself back from killing, were the sweetest moments of torture. Everything he wanted and all the reasons he could not have it.

"Jason." I love you. Come home. Stay with me.

"Later Bruce." Love you too but, I can't.
