Deftéra: Rose Red
May. 25th, 2015 09:00 amGood morning time! (For me, possibly not for you) I’m
doreyg and today's theme is Red. Prompts can be anything relating to the colour red: be it a character wearing red, red as a rose or even blood red. As long as the prompts have some link to the colour red, you're good!
Rules:
No more than five prompts in a row.
No more than three prompts in the same fandom.
Use the character's full names and fandom's full name for ease adding to the Lonely Prompts spreadsheet.
If your prompt or fill contains anything that can be a trigger for the reader, please add a warning for that to give the reader the chance to decide if they want to read or not. This basically follows the AO3 warning system (graphic violence, character death non-con, underage), with any extra warnings left to the discretion of the author.
No spoilers in prompts for a month after airing. Use the spoiler cut option found here.
If your fill contains spoilers, warn and leave plenty of space, or use the above mentioned spoiler cut.
Prompts should be formatted as follows: [Use the character's full names and fandom's full name]
Fandom, Character +/ Character, Prompt
Time for some examples!:
+ The Mistborn Trilogy - Brandon Sanderson, Vin/Elend/Kelsier, they both delight in making him go red
+ Justice League Cartoon, Superman/Martian Manhunter, Roses are red...
+ The Flash (TV), Lisa Snart/Barry Allen, blood red
We are now using AO3 to bookmark filled prompts. If you fill a prompt and post it to AO3 please add it to the Bite Sized Bits of Fic from 2015 collection. See further notes on this new option here.
Not feeling any of today’s prompts? Check out the just created Lonely Prompts Spreadsheet. For more recent prompts to write, you can also use LJ’s advanced search options to limit keyword results to only comments in this community. Another option is the new LJ archive of prompts that we've been working on, which can be found here.

"Sorry, I..."
"So you aren't interested?" she followed the question with a fake pout, her eyes sparkling with amusement, then placed her hand on his thigh. "Because I definitely am."
Barry really hoped it wasn't another trap, and ordered drinks.

Date: 2016-10-16 04:32 pm (UTC)He's not in great shape; the thing he focuses on, that keeps his mind from spiralling into an endless and incoherent scream, is the memory of Alastair's voice, his cold fingers. "This is how to cut without damaging the liver. Feel the pressure on the blade, how it catches; that's the stomach. Quickly now, flick up, just so, and the acid will take care of things."
Those times, death wasn't permanent either, but the knowledge remained long after his toys were sewn together and handed back. Their cuts, the ones that aren't shallow, that he couldn't dodge or mitigate, are not fatal; he doesn't feel them, not more than an awkward sliding when he turns and part of his skin moves faster than the piece next to it, a faint echo of pain.
And still, they come; and still, he puts them down, trapping the demons in their hosts with a touch and then killing them, leaving them powerless in a motionless host, there until the bodies rot enough that the mark won't hold them. The horde is thick until it isn't, and there's nothing left but space and fire and a cross.
He doesn't look back at the trail he left, wide and clear enough for anyone who survived to follow him. He stumbles forward, holding his skin together, wishing it would knit together under his hand, that he could run to the cross and let its prisoner down.
"Sammy," he says as he gets there, the sound falling flat amid the thunder and roar of fire and anger. He kneels, not entirely by his choice, and touches Sam's face, unfamiliar in its haggard, bearded guise. Sam's hair brushes his knees, hanging matted and knotted from his scalp, not entirely attached. "Sammy," he says, touching the swollen cheek, the bruised eye, the collar of thorns. "We're getting out of here, Sammy," he says, even as the last warm sliver of borrowed grace fades, bleeds out of him to mingle with Sam's blood, pooling on the ground and staining Dean's jeans.
Sam's good eye opens, and it's black. "You came," he says, and he laughs. The sound is thick and twisted, like Sam is speaking through a throat filled with liquid, and it's the last thing Dean hears before his body, finally, falls apart.
