FILL: The Light Fantastic [Vicious - VE Schwab, PG]

(For a bit of background: Vicious takes place in a universe where people who die and come back do so with superpowers based on their last thoughts. Angie dies permanently in the book, but comes back with electricity powers in this AU.)

She jerks back to life with a gasp, her exposed skin strangely cool against the floor. Her lungs bruised as they gasp air, such sweet air, back in.

"Angie?" A strangely muffled voice asks from above, and when she looks up she sees Victor - peering down at her with a curious sheen to his eyes, "you're... Alive."

She remembers dying. Remembers the sudden stab of agony through her limbs, remembers falling to the ground, remembers gasping for air and wishing - begging, really - for just a little more power.

"Victor," she says slowly, her tongue foreign in her mouth, and instinctively rubs her fingers together - the flash of electricity between them, sudden and sweet, is almost enough to get her brain working again "...Yes, yes I am."
