evil_little_dog and today's theme is World of Tomorrow! Prompts must deal with a future event in the fandom's canon.
Just a few rules:
No more than five prompts in a row.
No more than three prompts in the same fandom.
Use the character's full names and fandom's full name for ease adding to the Lonely Prompts spreadsheet.
If your prompt or fill contains anything that can be a trigger for the reader, please add a warning for that to give the reader the chance to decide if they want to read or not.
No spoilers in prompts for a month after airing. Use the spoiler cut option found here.
If your fill contains spoilers, warn and leave plenty of space, or use the above mentioned spoiler cut.

Looking at himself in the mirror, Hal turns his head first to one side and then to the other, scratches a little at his white temples and groans. He stopped dying his hair for the second time a few years back, when his visits to Earth started becoming fewer and further between, but he thinks that maybe he should do it for Kyle's wedding, to avoid unpleasant memories from resurfacing.
He's still thinking about it when he hears a soft knock and then the door opening. Soranik walks in, followed by Kyle and Sinestro, and the atmosphere seems a little too tense for Hal's comfort. He throws a look at his husband and hopes he won't have to mediate another father-daughter confrontation the night before the wedding.
Soranik walks up to Hal, Kyle following behind her, and there's a few seconds of silence before Sinestro takes place next to Hal.
“Is anybody going to say anything? I'm starting to get worried.” Hal is the one who finally speaks up.
Soranik and Kyle hold hands and he seems to relax. “Yes, apologies. Father, Hal... Kyle and I wanted you to know something. I, ah...” she falters, and it's quite the rare sight “You're going to be grandparents.”
Hal's eyes widen “You mean you...”
“Yes, I'm pregnant.”
Everybody turns to Sinestro, whose expression mutated into one of pure shock, and that is even rarer than an hesitating Soranik. For a while the room stays dead silent; Hal is unsure about saying anything because he has no idea if his husband his having a mental breakdown or a silent epiphany. They all just keep staring.
At some point Kyle lets out a whispered “I think we broke him.” and Hal can't help burst out laughing. Soranik looks incredibly smug and clearly considers it an accomplishment.
“Yeah, I think you did.” Hal grins and hugs the younger couple. “Congratulations, guys! Oh man, I'm so happy, you're going to be great parents.” he turns around and grabs Sinestro, dragging him into the hug “And he's happy, too, trust me.”

Blue knew that, everyone knew that, but in those feverish months when every second had been dedicated to Glendower is some way, what happened after, or even the idea that it could end, had seemed strangely impossible. Gansey had to die, Blue had known that before she had ever even met him, but even as the days disappeared one into the next, she had not been able to imagine a world without Gansey or their impossible quest.
Gansey was too perfect not to be there, the sun to their revolving planets, and the quest for Glendower too consuming to ever end.
But all things end; they found the tomb, and Gansey, prefect, bright Gansey, the son every parent dreamed of, died, and Noah disappeared with him, their lives perpetually connected. Where there had once been five bound by something like fate and an impossible dream, there were then three aimless teenagers with nothing else left between them. It was unsurprising then, without Gansey to bind them together, that they fell apart. Adam, even as changed by the Cabeswater as he was, still chased his age old dreams, and Ronan, abrasive as ever, meandered here and there, dreaming and occasionally appearing out of nowhere to harass her.
Blue had scrimped and saved and had landed herself at a college, not a good one, but somewhere. What once would have been an accomplish and a promise of something more than just Henrietta was meaningless now. After those months of magic and adventure and love, nothing could compare, and her age old dream to discover her own future felt hollow now because nothing ahead could compare to her past.

"But those sugar-high, circus-peanuts-for-brains terrorists—"
"Vanellope."
"—think they can just walk in here and sabotage—"
Ralph pinches the bridge of his nose with his free hand, trying to wrangle his own temper. "They're just kids, Vanellope. They're our players."
"—and that gives them the right to jam gum in my game's COIN SLOT??!?!!"
Felix could fix this. Probably. He should be here. He loves conflict resolution and peaceful solutions and junk like that. Then, maybe Ralph's headache would go away.
"It happens, Vanellope. Ok? I can't tell you how many times we had to replace parts on our game over the years." An idea spawns in Ralph's head and he smiles. "Since you won't be hosting any races for a bit, why not throw a party instead?"
Vanellope slows down, her glitches stopping altogether as she considers it. These days, she's not - quieter, no not AT ALL. But she's more confident in herself, in her decisions, in her place in life. It's satisfying to see, to know he had at least a little to with her new-found happiness.
"I do like parties..." she muses, finger tapping on her cheek in thought. Ralph sighs silently, relieved, and pushes her towards the train station.
"It'll be like a 'Good Job Lasting This Long' party or... something," he says.
Vanellope rolls her eyes, like it was her plan all along. "We have to think of a better theme than that." She shakes her head and sighs dramatically. "Peasants are so quaint."
Ralph slaps her lightly on the back of her head. Vanellope flashes him a cheeky grin, then races ahead, laughing as Ralph starts chasing after her.
