doreyg, and unfortunately this will be my last day hosting! It's been a really fun week, you guys, and I totally hope to do it again soon!
Today's theme, without any further ceremony, is A Softer World. Prompts can be anything from the A Softer World webcomic: be they pictures of the comic itself, taglines or the words involved. As long as your prompt has some link to A Softer World, you should be set!
Just a few rules:
No more than five prompts in a row.
No more than three prompts in the same fandom.
Use the character's full names and fandom's full name for ease adding to the Lonely Prompts spreadsheet.
If your prompt or fill contains anything that can be a trigger for the reader, please add a warning for that to give the reader the chance to decide if they want to read or not.
No spoilers in prompts for a month after airing. Use the spoiler cut option found here.
If your fill contains spoilers, warn and leave plenty of space, or use the above mentioned spoiler cut.

"You're my best friend, Max," Terry sniffs, sounding slightly wounded, "and, besides, you tell me everything about you and Dana-"
"Yes," she sniffs primly, and takes another sip of her coffee, "because that's hot, and you are privileged to hear about it."
"We're hot too..."
"Whatever you want to believe, Ter, whatever you want to believe."
"I believe you're both hot," Howard opinions quietly from the corner, but neither of them listen to him. It's for the best, really.

"Hal, I say this as your best friend," Barry says. Sounding a little relieved, a little pissed off, a little about to put his head through the table, "you have to stop staring at Batman."
"Batman isn't here," he points out, because he's made it his mission in life to be a smart arse and he's hardly going to stop now, "there's only me, and you, and Diana, and Bruce Wayne..."
"Bruce Wayne is Batman!" Barry snaps, obviously - unfortunately - used to him by now. He'd feel worse, but the man did choose to be his best friend, "Hal, you have to stop trying to get away on technicalities."
"No I don't," he sniffs, automatically.
"Yes you do, or else I'm going to kill you," Barry pauses, takes in a deep breath and pointedly ignores his raised eyebrow. Because the thought of Barry, quite probably the most adorable person in the universe, killing anybody is one to treasure, "or he's going to kill you, either way. This isn't healthy."
"Batman has a no kill policy," he says loftily, as he - for once in his life - thinks, "everybody knows that."
"Hal-"
"And since when have I ever been healthy?" He smirks a little, sits back. Barry, across from him, closes his eyes as if he's trying to keep his temper, "don't worry, Bar. I know what I'm doing."
"I've heard that before," Barry says faintly.
"And I haven't died yet," he considers, shrugs as casually as he can, "much. Look, I can't promise you that I know what I'm doing but I have a good feeling about this. I think that maybe, just maybe, this could go well. And I think that's worth at least a chance, don't you?"
Barry remains silent for a long moment. Eyes closed, lips pursed "...Idiot."
"Best in the universe," he agrees cheerfully, knowing - by the faint twitch around Barry's pursed mouth - that he's close to being forgiven, "come on, if it does work out I'll make sure to tell you all the juicy details. What could be better than that?"
"Literally everything," Barry sighs, and opens his eyes - close-lipped disapproval already fading into a smirk, "I hate you and your stupid crushes, you know that?"
"Yeah," he grins, and returns to watching Bruce Wayne - every gorgeous, angry, waiting inch of him - over Barry's shoulder, "but they keep life interesting, you gotta admit."

"Yeah, I know," Micah mutters. But he stops arguing, follows Luke to the car, and monitors every communication device in range.
Luke does mean it, when he says they'll find Micah's mom. That they'll save people. He really does. But that's not why he's doing this.
They're gonna kill so many normals on the way and Luke can barely wait.
(And if maybe it'll impress Sylar enough to let Luke come back - well. He keeps that to himself.)

Date: 2015-11-23 06:15 pm (UTC)Duncan researches the Horsemen, after. He could ask Joe but he'd prefer it be on his time, whenever he can. He often can't. He hated Melvin Koren for so long, and he'd liked Adam Pierson so much... the Methos Cassandra knew isn't the one Duncan thought he knew, and coming to terms to that - well, calling it difficult is an understatement.
But he researches. He learns. He tries to understand and finds that he simply can't.
Tracing Kronos' movements through time is relatively easy, as Kronos and Koren are the same, except for the scale of destruction. Tracing Methos is far harder, and he supposes that's why Methos is still alive and the other three aren't.
None of Kronos' quickening came to Duncan. He's relieved, as battling down Caspian's was hard enough. He has a bit of Silas, he thinks, but Silas wasn't that bad, compared to the others.
He reads a description of destruction that is older than he can fathom, and he wonders which of the riders was Methos. He wonders why Methos chose to destroy his companions of a thousand years when joining back up would surely have been easier. He wonders how the Methos that Cassandra knew became the Methos he thought he knew.
He wonders if any of that matters. However it started, he knows the ending.
The world was different, Methos said. Had he already started planning then? I was different.
Even with Caspian’s quickening, Duncan still doesn’t truly understand just how old Methos is, how old his brothers were. He’s not sure he wants to live long enough to understand it.
Maybe in time, he’ll feel comfortable asking Methos about those days. Maybe Methos will actually reply.
Or maybe, Duncan will never mention it, will pretend he doesn’t know.
