Much Pun so Wow Tuesday
Aug. 18th, 2015 02:05 pmGood afternoon my dove, it is I,
classics_lover back with you for more prompting fun. Today's theme is Much Pun, So Wow, and that means that it's jokes/puns/humour prompts. Go nuts :D
Just a few rules:
No more than five prompts in a row.
No more than three prompts in the same fandom.
Use the character's full names and fandom's full name for ease adding to the Lonely Prompts spreadsheet.
If your prompt or fill contains anything that can be a trigger for the reader, please add a warning for that to give the reader the chance to decide if they want to read or not.
No spoilers in prompts for a month after airing. Use the spoiler cut option found here.
If your fill contains spoilers, warn and leave plenty of space, or use the above mentioned spoiler cut.
Prompts should be formatted as follows: [Use the character's full names and fandom's full name]
Fandom, Character +/ Character, Prompt
Some examples to get the ball rolling...
+ Frasier, Frasier Crane or Niles Crane, "I refuse to be the butt of any more jokes!" "Heehee, you said butt!"
+ Star Trek (any series), any, Vulcan humour is very subtle
+ Author's choice, author's choice, "We should call you Malaprop."
We are now using AO3 to bookmark filled prompts. If you fill a prompt and post it to AO3 please add it to the Bite Sized Bits of Fic from 2015 collection. See further notes on this new option here.
Not feeling any of today’s prompts? Check out the just created Lonely Prompts Spreadsheet. For more recent prompts to write, you can also use LJ’s advanced search options to limit keyword results to only comments in this community.
While the Lonely Prompts Spreadsheet and LJ's advanced search options are available, bookmarking the links of prompts you like might work better for searching for in the future.

Date: 2015-08-19 08:05 pm (UTC)Tony stirrs with a slightly bemused smile.
"Did you just hit me with a shoe?"
"I thought you'd duck..."
"I wondered why the shoe was getting bigger.... then it hit me."
Pepper half-smiles, barely hiding it before she speaks again.
"Maybe next time try to remember your wife's birthday... okay, dumbass?"
"Dumbass? Who threw a shoe?"
"You deserved it..."
"Wait... so the great Tony Stark got his ass handed to him by a shoe?"
The voice comes from the doorway and Pepper turns, smirking at Natasha.
"He forgot to duck..."
"Dumbass."

Date: 2015-08-18 01:36 pm (UTC)fill: tangled - whozits and whatzits galore
Date: 2015-08-18 06:13 pm (UTC)There's a difference between watching the rain fall from her tower's window, maybe sticking her hand out to catch stray droplets, and standing outside in the middle of a storm. While Flynn (No, she thought happily, his name is Eugene) ran around the campsite, trying to save their meagre supplies and gathering up her hair, Rapunzel closed her eyes.
The rain was light, but it was there, soaking into her clothes. It left her chilled and wet and exhilarated, because she was here, outside, in the real world. Rapunzel feared and doubted it would ever happen, but she seized the opportunity when it came, and now every moment brought something new and fresh to her attention.
Like how rain was slowed by the canopy of trees, but it still trickled down through the gaps between leaves. Like the hiss hiss hiss of water hitting the dying campfire. Like Eugene muttering about umbrellas as he shoved the bundle of her hair and her frying pan into her arms.
"What's an 'um-brell-uh'?" Rapunzel asked, carefully repeating the new word.
"You don't - no, not going to ask." Eugene pulled her closer to the trunk of a large tree. Were they waiting the storm out? She didn't think anyone would light the floating lanterns until after it was done, anyway. "Umbrellas are these..." He made a few sweeping gestures with his hands, "things people use that keep the rain off."
Rapunzel looked up at the ceiling of the forest. "Like trees?"
"Kiiiind of," Eugene said. He crossed his arms and tilted his head from side to side. "Think smaller. One per customer."
She contemplated the dimensions of her pan before holding it over her head. She heard a raindrop hit it with a metallic ring.
"Like drying pans?" she asked slyly, grinning even before Eugene pinned her with the flattest, most unimpressed look he could manage.
