Thursday: Dark Fic

likewinning and today's theme is Dark fic. Prompts should all be on the darker side of the spectrum - murder, mayhem, etc.
Just a few rules:
No more than five prompts in a row.
No more than three prompts in the same fandom.
Use the character's full names and fandom's full name for ease adding to the Lonely Prompts spreadsheet.
If your prompt or fill contains anything that can be a trigger for the reader, please add a warning for that to give the reader the chance to decide if they want to read or not.
No spoilers in prompts for a month after airing. Use the spoiler cut option found here.
If your fill contains spoilers, warn and leave plenty of space, or use the above mentioned spoiler cut.
Prompts should be formatted as follows: [Use the character's full names and fandom's full name]

Some examples to get the ball rolling...
+ Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Buffy Summers/Faith Lehane, Buffy's the one who killed the Mayor's assistant, but she never turned herself go in.
+ Batman comics, Jason Todd/Dick Grayson + any other Batfam, AU where they're bored rich kids who kill people for fun.
+ Batman comics, Tim Drake/Roy Harper, Tim moved to Star City and took a very different path.
We are now using AO3 to bookmark filled prompts. If you fill a prompt and post it to AO3 please add it to the Bite Sized Bits of Fic from 2015 collection. See further notes on this new option here.

Date: 2015-09-11 03:52 am (UTC)Right now, he's supposed to be fighting Two-Face. Batman's all by himself; Batman needs him.
"Not possible, kid," one of the orderlies told him yesterday - maybe yesterday. "Robin's fine. Saw him in the papers with Batman earlier this week."
Jason doesn't believe him, nearly lashes out and beats the shit out of him until someone comes in with a sedative. The next day the same orderly comes in, and Jason starts to apologize for the guy's black eye, but the guy just shakes his head, gives Jason a kinder smile than he deserves and shows him the paper.
Sure enough, it's Batman and Robin. Sure enough, it's not Jason.

The kid only makes it worse. Jason's trying, trying to do anything he can about the dreams, about the muscle memory that happens if any of the other patients lash out, but then the kid comes in to see him.
He's tiny and dark-haired, huge eyes and wrists Jason could snap, whether he's really Robin or not. He's barely taller than Jason even with Jason sitting down, and his voice cracks a couple of times when he tries to talk.
"You have to get better," the kid says. "We need you. He needs you. I'm not - I'm not what you used to be."
Jason just stares at him, waiting for anything to make sense. When the kid finally leaves, Jason still shakes and cries for hours afterward, wondering why no one else has been to see him.

They tell him he's ill, and he accepts that. No one else would have dreams about their own death, no one else would think about the sound of bones breaking under fists and think that it was all real. No one else would have dreamt up such an elaborate life away from the streets.
He knows, now, that he must be crazy. But that feeling of loss still sits like a hollow space in his chest and when the doctors offer to help him, all he asks is for them to help him forget.
