Evening, folks. I’m
schweinsty and today's theme is Mothers and Fathers. Prompts can be anything related to parenthood-reminiscing about a parent, becoming a parent, etc.
Just a few rules:
No more than five prompts in a row.
No more than three prompts in the same fandom.
Use the character's full names and fandom's full name for ease adding to the Lonely Prompts spreadsheet.
If your prompt or fill contains anything that can be a trigger for the reader, please add a warning for that to give the reader the chance to decide if they want to read or not.
No spoilers in prompts for a month after airing. Use the spoiler cut option found here.
If your fill contains spoilers, warn and leave plenty of space, or use the above mentioned spoiler cut.
Prompts should be formatted as follows: [Use the character's full names and fandom's full name]
Fandom, Character +/ Character, Prompt
Some examples to get the ball rolling...
+ Stargate: Atlantis, John/Rodney + Teyla & Ronon, Torren's got one biological dad and three honorary ones
+ The Man from U.N.C.L.E. (film), gen, Napoleon hasn't spoken to his parents since the day he joined the army
+ The Man from U.N.C.L.E. (film), Gaby Teller+/Illya Kuryakin+/Napoleon Solo,Dr. Teller's death hits Gaby harder than she thought it would after the events of the movie
We are now using AO3 to bookmark filled prompts. If you fill a prompt and post it to AO3 please add it to the Bite Sized Bits of Fic from 2015 collection. See further notes on this new option here.
Not feeling any of today’s prompts? Check out the just created Lonely Prompts Spreadsheet. For more recent prompts to write, you can also use LJ’s advanced search options to limit keyword results to only comments in this community.
While the Lonely Prompts Spreadsheet and LJ's advanced search options are available, bookmarking the links of prompts you like might work better for searching for in the future.

Date: 2015-09-20 11:03 pm (UTC)... how do you feel about a future!fic that also deals with Torren's younger sisters? (I made them up for another story I'm writing, and have no idea of any canon extending past the show's finale.)

Date: 2016-07-06 02:53 am (UTC)Napoleon turned sixteen in March of 1945, and while the war still raged on in Europe and the Pacific, it looked like the fighting might be dwindling. He still had two years before he could join the Army, and while he wasn’t so keen on the fighting aspect, he longed to see the world. He wanted to travel to faraway places, and he’d grown up listening to stories of his father’s travels. His father had collected postcards from the different locations he’d been to, and Napoleon had developed wanderlust at a young age staring at the picturesque images and daydreaming.
His parents loved him and worked hard to make sure that he had everything he needed, and they were scrimping together a college fund for him. Napoleon had no interest in going to college. Oh, he was smart enough, but he wanted to travel the world. He wanted to see Paris and Casablanca and open a gin joint there just like his hero Rick in his favorite movie.
He still had two years before he’d be old enough to join the Army, so he did the only thing he could think to do — he lied about his age.
The recruitment office didn’t bat an eye when he strutted in and confidently stated that he’d just turned eighteen. He’d left the recruitment office with the 1A stamp proudly displayed on his service card. He’d gone straight home and started packing for boot camp.
He hadn’t anticipated his father coming home early from the factory that day, or his father walking in on him packing his belongings in an old duffel bag. He certainly hadn’t expected his father to notice the service card on his bed.
He definitely hadn’t expected his father, red-faced and fuming, to cuff him upside his head and forbid him to go.
Father and son had their first and only row that afternoon, and Napoleon had ended up storming out of his childhood home, vehemently vowing never to return, blood streaming from his nose.
His father hadn’t been unscathed either.
It’s 1965, and so far, he’s not stepped foot in his childhood home. His hand trembles as he reads over the telegram from his mother. It only contains five words, six if he counts the ‘Mom’ she signed off with, but that short, concise message has rocked him to his core, and for the first time in twenty years, he’s rethinking his vow.
‘Come home. Dad’s not good.’

Date: 2015-09-14 04:43 pm (UTC)Beside him, her mother was shaking her head. "Two days, Harmony! Where were you?" Disapproval briefly gave way to concern. "And you look so pale!"
Neither moved from the doorway.
Harmony tried to remember the last time they'd presented a united front. Or at least had stood in the same room with her. Years of cheerful neglect, and one little post-Graduation party with her new friends upset them.
Too little, too late.
"I'm fine, really."
Better than fine.
Now, if they'd only let her in....

Date: 2015-09-15 06:50 am (UTC)A step behind him, Vanessa had coughed and, when her father deflated, gazed at him patiently. "You'll like Ferb, Dad."
From the look Dr. Doofenshmirtz had given him over Vanessa's head, Ferb doubted that.
He'd been right.

Date: 2015-09-20 09:50 pm (UTC)"Last night?" Jason asks. "With the tequila and the --"
"Jaeger," Roy finishes for him, grimacing. "Yeah."
"Right," Jason sighs. "Let's hear it."
"Well," Roy says. "You were all grumpy like you get every time you come back from those little family reunions and I was just like, so tired of seeing you all grumpy and angsty and sad, you know?"
"I wasn't --"
"You were," Roy says. "Just like always. And it's whatever, you know? But you don't deserve that, Jaybird. You're fuckin' awesome and I just thought, haha, that I'd, you know, make sure he knew that."
"Roy," Jason says in that you've got three seconds to run before i unleash all hell upon you tone of voice. "What did you do?"
"I just shot the big guy a little text, that's all," Roy says, slowing inching away from Jason. "Only, you know, I don't have his number. And, well, Jaeger, so I kind of sent it from your phone?"
"You sent a message to Bruce," Jason says slowly, like he's trying to understand. Or trying not to kill Roy, one of those two. "Telling him how 'awesome' I am," he continues. "Only you sent it from my phone so it looks like I drunk texted him that nonsense?"
"It's not nonsense!" Roy argues, completely missing the point. "I mean. Well. Oh, hey, I haven't even gotten to the best part."
Jason groans. "Do I even wanna know?"
"Uh huh," Roy grins, scooping Jason's phone off the coffee table and handing it out to him so he can read it himself. "He apologized."
Jason makes a disgusted face and pushes his phone back at Roy. "Delete it," he says, standing up. "I've heard it before."
