Apocalypse Soonish Wednesday
Oct. 7th, 2015 05:30 amHi everyone!
evil_little_dog with Wednesday's post. Today's theme is Apocalypse Soonish. Each prompt should deal with survival of or after the impending apocalypse*!
*Apocalypses may vary. Only one apocalypse per prompt. No returns nor refunds.
Just a few rules:
No more than five prompts in a row.
No more than three prompts in the same fandom.
Use the character's full names and fandom's full name for ease adding to the Lonely Prompts spreadsheet.
If your prompt or fill contains anything that can be a trigger for the reader, please add a warning for that to give the reader the chance to decide if they want to read or not.
No spoilers in prompts for a month after airing. Use the spoiler cut option found here.
If your fill contains spoilers, warn and leave plenty of space, or use the above mentioned spoiler cut.
Prompts should be formatted as follows: [Use the character's full names and fandom's full name]
Fandom, Character +/ Character, Prompt
Some examples to get the ball rolling...
* Harry Potter, Harry Potter+/Hermione Granger, She managed to save Harry from Voldemort but no one else
* Fullmetal Alchemist, Any alchemist, Zombies
* Burn Notice, Michael Westin+/Fiona Glenanne+any, Surviving Miami was easy, surviving the apocalypse is difficult
We are now using AO3 to bookmark filled prompts. If you fill a prompt and post it to AO3 please add it to the Bite Sized Bits of Fic from 2015 collection. See further notes on this new option here.
Not feeling any of today’s prompts? Check out the just created Lonely Prompts Spreadsheet. For more recent prompts to write, you can also use LJ’s advanced search options to limit keyword results to only comments in this community.
While the Lonely Prompts Spreadsheet and LJ's advanced search options are available, bookmarking the links of prompts you like might work better for searching for in the future.

Date: 2015-10-07 11:12 am (UTC)"We have to live." Tony grimaced as the zombie crawled toward them. "Shoot that thing will you?"
Rhodey obliged, obliterating the head of the shambling creature. "We'll make them pay," he said.
"They? Who they? 'They' is a horde of brainless brain-eating monsters." Tony popped off a few wild shots. His aim had never gotten better with guns. His bullets barely caused a hesitation in the advancing zombies, the creatures surrounding them and drawing ever closer. "I don't want to die alone!"
"You're not alone, I'm here!" Rhodey fired his gun again, knocking some back.
"I don't want you to die with me! I want to go out in a blaze of glory! Not eaten by a zombie for my brain." He cocked his head minutely. "Albeit, I do have an amazing brain."
Rhodey shot again, his trigger clicking at the lack of bullets. "So this is it," he said, "we're going to die."
"No. No, we're not." Tony leaped up, grabbing the handset, and pressing the 'reset' button. The zombies vanished in a flicker of light. "Well." He clapped his hands together. "What do you think?"
Rhodey rolled his eyes. "I think you need to work on your 'how to finish a game properly' skills. But it's a great game. Especially the holograms. Very realistic."
Tony beamed for a split second. "It is a good game, isn't it? I think I'll send it in to marketing. Oo, better yet, send it to Barton and Natasha. Seems like it'd be right up their alleys. Collectively." He waved a hand. "Jarvis, do we have addresses for them?"
"Yes, sir. Shall I request a delivery?"
"Do that." Tony clapped his hands together. "So, Rhodey, wanna go again?"
"Maybe after pizza." Rhodey lifted the plastic gun, blowing across the muzzle as if smoke drifted out of it. "Killing dead things works up an appetite."

Min-Fill - Lupin III, Jigen + Lupin
Date: 2015-10-08 06:06 pm (UTC)"So you're not leaving?" Jigen asked him. He threw another grenade and ducked behind what was left of the wall. "I mean, Fujiko said she'd commission a helicopter..."
"Nope," said Lupin. "That type of ride just wouldn't be my style. Besides, we always said we'd go out together, right?"
"Damn right." Beneath the ruins of the broken city, they both laughed.
Edit: Figured I'd add some more to this.
