Wednesday: Non-Linear
Oct. 14th, 2015 12:01 amWell, wouldn't you know, it's Wednesday. I hope you do because I might not be too clear on that. Today's theme is 'non-linear.' You can interpret this scientifically, digitally, psychologically, or whatever other -ally plucks your strings.
No more than five prompts in a row.
No more than three prompts in the same fandom.
Use the character's full names and fandom's full name for ease adding to the Lonely Prompts spreadsheet.
If your prompt or fill contains anything that can be a trigger for the reader, please add a warning for that to give the reader the chance to decide if they want to read or not.
No spoilers in prompts for a month after airing. Use the spoiler cut option found .
If your fill contains spoilers, warn and leave plenty of space, or use the above mentioned spoiler cut.
Prompts should be formatted as follows: [Use the character's full names and fandom's full name]
Fandom, Character +/ Character, Prompt
Examples:
iCarly, Freddie Benson, he loved non-lin because it made it easier to edit out the stupid
Star Trek (TOS or the reboots, your choice,) Spock, Dr McCoy was a challenging opponent because he steadfastly refused to follow the simple flow of logic
Numb3rs, Larry Fleinhardt, love--any kind of love--was a nonlinear system of the highest order
Sherlock, John Watson+Sherlock Holmes, while Sherlock hadn't been watching, John had gone and gotten... fun
We are now using AO3 to bookmark filled prompts. If you fill a prompt and post it to AO3 please add it to the Bite Sized Bits of Fic from 2015 collection. See further notes on this new option http://comment-fic.livejournal.com/576887.html.
Not feeling any of today’s prompts? Check out the just created Lonely Prompts Spreadsheet. For more recent prompts to write, you can also use LJ’s advanced search options to limit keyword results to only comments in this community.
While the Lonely Prompts Spreadsheet and LJ's advanced search options are available, bookmarking the links of prompts you like might work better for searching for in the future.

Date: 2015-10-14 12:21 pm (UTC)Once, after a really bad one, Bruce held her in his arms for over an hour, calming her, kissing her. "It's okay, Harley," he whispered in her ear. "You'll always be safe with me." And softly, quietly, the memories of the nightmare left her mind.

Jennifer looks at Cole intently.
Jennifer: "There's only one who truly knows. Sees. Did see. Will see. The witness."
Coles shifts forward in his seat, eyes wide and lips pursed in frustration
Cole: "You said that last time. But who is the witness, I need the truth this time."
Jennifer : "It's happened before. Yes. Yes. Wait! There's something you need to know. Today something happens that will change things for you. Not everything is preordained, no matter how it may seem.
Cole: "The witness Jennifer..."
Jennifer: "That's how it works. No straight lines."
Cole sighs. Jennifer is so annoying.
Jennifer : "You're ready, it's time to go."
There's a noise behind her. Someone is coming down the corridor towards the room. She turns to see who it is. In walks Cole.
She glances behind her to the empty seat where Cole had been sitting.
Cole: "Hi Jennifer. Listen. You don't think anyone would try and steal this thing?
Jennifer giggles. It's happening again.
It's happened before.
Time travel is just so annoying.

"I don't wanna hear about your girlfriends!" shouted Zenigata. "The diamonds! Tell me where you hid the diamonds!"
"Baseball diamond?" Lupin asked, innocent smile on his face. "Yes, I remember now. My pappy used to take me there every Saturday, and we would--"
"Goddammit, Lupin!" Zenigata choked back a sob.
