Morning, everyone. I’m
dreamsofspike and today's theme is "the end of the world as we know it". Prompts can be anything involving the apocalypse or post-apocalypse settings. Any type of apocalypse you want - worldwide disease epidemic, zombie outbreak, nuclear war - whatever you choose. Just put your favorite characters in the middle of it and show us how you think they'd react.
Just a few rules:
No more than five prompts in a row.
No more than three prompts in the same fandom.
Use the character's full names and fandom's full name for ease adding to the Lonely Prompts spreadsheet.
If your prompt or fill contains anything that can be a trigger for the reader, please add a warning for that to give the reader the chance to decide if they want to read or not.
No spoilers in prompts for a month after airing. Use the spoiler cut option found here.
If your fill contains spoilers, warn and leave plenty of space, or use the above mentioned spoiler cut.
Prompts should be formatted as follows: [Use the character's full names and fandom's full name]
Fandom, Character +/ Character, Prompt
Some examples to get the ball rolling...
+ Supernatural, Dean Winchester/Castiel - Cas gives Dean a reason to keep going when everything else is gone
+ Grimm, Nick Burkhardt/Monroe - Nick is still just about the scariest guy around, even in a world filled with zombies.
+ The Voice RPF, Blake Shelton/Adam Levine - no one could have predicted that the zombie outbreak would start during the live season finale
We are now using AO3 to bookmark filled prompts. If you fill a prompt and post it to AO3 please add it to the Bite Sized Bits of Fic from 2015 collection. See further notes on this new option here.
Not feeling any of today’s prompts? Check out the just created Lonely Prompts Spreadsheet. For more recent prompts to write, you can also use LJ’s advanced search options to limit keyword results to only comments in this community.
While the Lonely Prompts Spreadsheet and LJ's advanced search options are available, bookmarking the links of prompts you like might work better for searching for in the future.

Date: 2015-11-23 03:30 am (UTC)He puts the key in the ignition and he could stop there, stop moving, no more running looking for shelter, let whatever is out there taking lives have a go at him. Why not?
Castiel.
Cas who's in the passenger seat asleep- pretending to more like - giving him time to breathe and ruminate, who listens to his stupid rants about the possible threats of the dying world and throws his two cents in. Cas who also, stupidly, stubbornly tries to look for more survivors, and place any sign of life.
Cas who doesn't give up.
He starts up his baby, and drives down the road, for Cas.

Date: 2015-11-12 02:08 pm (UTC)Every morning, she wakes and the sun is still shining. She feeds the cat, showers, cooks and (mostly) eats breakfast, dresses, trudges to her car, drives to work, clocks in, works eight hours (somehow), and then goes home.
Home, where everything is quiet. The cat makes noise sometimes. She turns on the TV just to hear people talking while she cooks dinner and eats. Feeds the cat. Crawls into her lonely bed. Sleeps.
Every morning, she does it all over again.
Time's supposed to make things hurt less, but it hasn't yet.
Mom told her, and Becca, too, It's not the end of the world, you know. There's more fish in the sea. You'll find someone else.
But she spent half her life in love, wrapped up on someone else -- and someone else just... walked away. Like it was easy.
She's living now for the day she wakes and the world is in color again.
So she wakes. Takes care of the cat. Goes to her pointless job and does well. Eats. And again, and again, and again.
Because the world didn't end. And while half of her life so far has been wasted -- well, that's not quite true. Not if she learns something from it.
So she wakes, checks that the sun is still shining, and decides, You've taken enough of me, deleting the pictures of that face from her phone.

Date: 2015-11-12 11:12 am (UTC)Some say the world will end in fire,
Some say in ice.
From what I’ve tasted of desire
I hold with those who favor fire.
But if it had to perish twice,
I think I know enough of hate
To say that for destruction ice
Is also great
And would suffice. - Robert Frost

He closes his eyes, but there is no hiding because it's there with him. Soon it says. Soon.
The darkness that is rising.

Date: 2015-11-12 10:37 pm (UTC)Reid never liked change, but this was almost too much. Gazing around the now empty conference room, he fought the sadness of knowing this was their last case as a team. Rossi had retired three years ago, and he was still getting used to that. But this year, both Hotch and Morgan had decided to leave as well. Hotch to early retirement to be with his son; Morgan to head the Chicago Violent Crimes Division to be closer to his family. Garcia was going with him. Even JJ had somewhat left, albeit in the form of a position that didn't require so many hours. It didn't take long for her to discover two kids plus the BAU just didn't match.
Sighing, he walked over to the door and turned off the lights. Some people just have to carry on.

Fill. OC. Warning: dark
Date: 2015-11-12 05:42 pm (UTC)Was it that first touch? The first ache of desire sparked small, oh so small, as his fingers trailed along her throat? Barely touching. Finding her pulse.
No, because before that there was teasing. Drawing her in with a web of lies so fragile, oh so fragile, that a spider could have weaved them in place. Finding her oblivious.
Yet before that there was waiting. For a chance, an opportunity, a tiny opening, oh so tiny. Yet big enough for him to slip in. Finding her alone.
And before that there was watching. Cautious and hesitant. Selecting so carefully, oh so carefully, from the myriad of choice on display. Finding the one.
Still before that, there was craving. As the hunger returns and the need to feed so strong, oh so strong. Finding himself wanting more.
But what of the last touch? The sated ache of hunger stuffed to burst, full, oh so full, as his fingers trailed along her throat? Barely touching. Finding her pulse. Gone.
You all know where the story ends. What you do not know is where it begins.

Date: 2015-11-30 07:39 am (UTC)When Mina disappears, her world is broken, flowers die, the sun stops to shine and Vanessa loses every bit of strength she had left. She meets her demise for a first time.
The world is ending with a bang, everything fading away with fire. The world ends with her dying in a pyre. The voices inside her head forever mute. She's gone forever, there's nothing left. For a second time the end comes with heat and smoke.
Life withers, becomes pale, colorless. Vanessa is left in a world of black and white, she can feel her soul leaving her body, little by little life drains from her. Her strength diminished and she's gone for a third time.
She's the mother of evil, she dwells in darkness and in the shadows she dies, defeated by a touch of light. The world is coming to an end one more time. The earth is full of discord as she rises and falls again, the fight of good versus evil never ending, and Vanessa refuses to break, but some are more powerful than her.
For a last time she opens her eyes, the world born anew. For a last time she lets herself hope and feel. The hands of fate playing with her. This is the last stage and whoever wins, reigns the earth.

Date: 2015-11-13 02:17 am (UTC)Lupin frowned. "You are enjoying this way too much, man."
"How so?" asked Jigen. He threw a grenade out the broken window and ducked.
"Well, I would think the world's gone to shit overnight would kill your buzz, Jigen." Lupin shuddered as the grenade went off. "Not to mention the fact that all those 'monsters' used to be regular folks like you and me. What if Fujiko got bit and turned into a zombie?"
"Well, better start saving my bullets then."
Lupin groaned.

Date: 2015-11-12 02:46 pm (UTC)Fill: Gravity falls, Bill Cipher
Date: 2015-11-13 05:08 am (UTC)Warnings: Gravity falls spoilers & death
Kicking back to look across the horizon, Bill sighed at peacefulness of the barren ruins of buildings and long dead cars wrecked in the streets.
It was several centuries after that silly little girl had given him the key to getting into the dimension and his friends had long since gone home and the humans had long since stopped screaming. Bill flew over, surveying the skeletons littering the streets, reminiscing.
Oh, Gravity falls, he could never forget his humble beginnings. Really, the start had been the most fun out of the whole escapade. The fear and surprise on their faces was always the best part of apocalypses. That and he'd destroyed the Pines family, there were pesky little humans like them all across the globe but none had ever come so close to besting him.
None of that matters now, though, the whole shebang was done, he needed to move on. He took one more look at the red sky of the setting sun, before heading towards the rift.
Maybe he could visit here on his off days, it was very enjoyable quiet.
