Þūnresdæg - Seven Deadly Sins
Nov. 26th, 2015 09:00 amMorning! I remain
doreyg and today's theme is the Seven Deadly Sins. Prompts today must focus around the sins - be it one of the seven deadly sins, something inspired by the seven deadly sins or sinful behavior in general.
(PS: matters such as abortion, women's rights and homosexuality do not count as particularly sinful. Preaching to the choir here, I know, and I don't want to limit you in any way - but, seriously, if you do regard any of those things as sinful you are a grade A jerk and probably shouldn't be on the internet.)
Just a few rules:
No more than five prompts in a row.
No more than three prompts in the same fandom.
Use the character's full names and fandom's full name for ease adding to the Lonely Prompts spreadsheet.
If your prompt or fill contains anything that can be a trigger for the reader, please add a warning for that to give the reader the chance to decide if they want to read or not.
No spoilers in prompts for a month after airing. Use the spoiler cut option found here.
If your fill contains spoilers, warn and leave plenty of space, or use the above mentioned spoiler cut.
Prompts should be formatted as follows: [Use the character's full names and fandom's full name]
Fandom, Character +/ Character, Prompt
Some sinful examples...
+ Superman: TAS, Clark Kent/Lex Luthor, the sin of pride
+ Quantum and Woody (comics), Woody/Eric, wrath
+ DCU, Hal Jordan/Bruce Wayne,
I crave your mouth, your voice, your hair.
Silent and starving, I prowl through the streets.
We are now using AO3 to bookmark filled prompts. If you fill a prompt and post it to AO3 please add it to the Bite Sized Bits of Fic from 2015 collection. See further notes on this new option here.
Not feeling any of today’s prompts? Check out the just created Lonely Prompts Spreadsheet. For more recent prompts to write, you can also use LJ’s advanced search options to limit keyword results to only comments in this community.
While the Lonely Prompts Spreadsheet and LJ's advanced search options are available, bookmarking the links of prompts you like might work better for searching for in the future.
Have fun!

Walking over to them, he lifted one of the lids. "All the expiration dates are today. They must not be able to sell them. They all still look perfectly good."
Dean did his best touchdown dance. "SCORE!"

Date: 2015-11-26 05:57 pm (UTC)Disagree with me if you please, but I will not give an inch, and what about this possition makes me a "grade A jerk" anyways? Do us both a favor: make it make sense and base your view on logic and common sense- not what those crowds make out to be common sense, but actual common sense.
If I have to I'll prove you wrong on those points: abortion is the deliberate taking of an innocent human being's life, and since the fetus is merely a baby at one stage of development, and that procedure is the destruction of an unborn baby, it is murder- the worst of those evils.
As for homosexual acts: those are not merely morally wrong, but also distinctly unsafe for the participants- STDs tend to occur amongst them to a frighteningly high frequency!
The desire is not morally wrong, but the actions are... there will never be yealding on this point.
However: I want to personally thank you for this opprotunity to address these things.
Thanks again:
Vantiri.
RE: Not a Fill, but will fill.
Date: 2015-11-26 06:28 pm (UTC)You are wrong.
You are, presumably, speaking from a position of incredible privilige and that is clouding your views. You seemingly think these are issues that can airily be discussed and decided, with no idea of the reality behind them. They cannot. They can frequently not be settled in such a way even by the people experiencing them, and they can certainly not be settled by a person outside the situation entirely. People do not choose to be female. People do not choose to be gay. People, quite frequently, don't choose to have abortions unless there is no other option for them. To judge them for these things they cannot help is misguided at best, and heinous at worst.
And, beyond that, they do not need judging. I am proud to be a woman. I know many people who are proud to be gay. Abortions are not a matter of pride, but they do generally come from the best possible place - a place that wants to bring a child into love, as opposed to an unsuitable situation. None of that is deserving of judgement, none of that is a sin.
I don't know if I'm making much sense, but I hope I have at least caused you to reconsider your position. The world is a big and wonderful place, and life is far too short to be spent in judgement.
