Friday: Episode Titles
Mar. 11th, 2016 12:15 amGooooood morning/afternoon/evening/whenever you're reading this, ladies and germs. I’m your host for this week
writinchica2k and today's theme is based on episode titles.
Just a few rules:
No more than five prompts in a row.
No more than three prompts in the same fandom.
Use the character's full names and fandom's full name for ease adding to the Lonely Prompts spreadsheet.
If your prompt or fill contains anything that can be a trigger for the reader, please add a warning for that to give the reader the chance to decide if they want to read or not.
No spoilers in prompts for a month after airing. Use the spoiler cut option found here.
If your fill contains spoilers, warn and leave plenty of space, or use the above mentioned spoiler cut.
Prompts should be formatted as follows: [Use the character's full names and fandom's full name]
Fandom, Character +/ Character, Prompt
Some examples to get the ball rolling...
+ Marvel Universe, any, 4 A.M. Miracle (Studio 60 On The Sunset Strip)
+ any spy-based fandom, any, A Flight To Remember (Futurama)
+ Buffy the Vampire Slayer/Angel, any, Blood Lust (Supernatural)
+ any sci-fi fandom, any, Tampering With Time Tickles (Danger Mouse)
+ Supernatural, any, Through A Dark Circle (The Crow: Stairway To Heaven)
We are now using AO3 to bookmark filled prompts. If you fill a prompt and post it to AO3 please add it to the Bite Sized Bits of Fic from 2016 collection. See further notes on this new option here.
Not feeling any of today’s prompts? Check out the just created Lonely Prompts Spreadsheet. For more recent prompts to write, you can also use LJ’s advanced search options to limit keyword results to only comments in this community.
While the Lonely Prompts Spreadsheet and LJ's advanced search options are available, bookmarking the links of prompts you like might work better for searching for in the future.

Buffy comes back from LA just a little... off. She's quieter. She sometimes hangs with Xander and Willow like normal, and sometimes she pushes them away. She spends hours with Giles in the library, studying lore she'd always complained about before. She makes time to eat dinner with her mom every night.
At some point, without telling anyone until Giles hears it from a contact, she destroys the Master's bones. She stakes the Anointed One and all of his followers. She's stronger and faster, a far better fighter than can possibly be explained by keeping up with her training while with her dad.
But none of them mention it to her. Because she's also happier. She laughs at the silliest things, and she talks to people in the halls, and even when they're scrambling to stop Frankenstein wannabes or ancient mummies, it's like Buffy is just so happy to be alive, and none of them can blame her for that.
After the ill-fated Parent-Teacher Night, Buffy drags Giles to her house and they tell her mother everything. It doesn't go as terribly as it could have, and while her mother doesn't really understand, she knows she can't stop it.
Xander is happy when Buffy doesn't resume her relationship with Angel (and so is Giles), and while Spike takes over the Master's position, Giles tries to convince Buffy to stake him. Angel argues for and against it, depending on the day.
Not even Willow gets why Buffy will stake any of Spike's minions she finds, but won't go after him or Drusilla.
So little about Buffy makes sense these days; she just stares at Snyder when he's his usual horrible self with a tiny smile, and she fights her way through so many demons and vampires while leaving other demons alone (sometimes she explains that they're not the kind that hurt people, but what other kind of demon is there?), and she has a notebook she fills with some kind of shorthand no one else knows, and any time she leaves her mom or Willow or Xander or Giles, she'll say, "I love you."
("You don't belong here," Drusilla tells her, when Drusilla follows her on patrol one night. "I tried tellin' Spike we shouldn't come here."
"He just wants to get you well again," Buffy says. "He loves you."
"Like he'll one day love you?" Drusilla asks. She knows without trying that her usual tricks won't work on thisSlayer.
"Probably not now," Buffy says. "I've changed too much."
They stare at each other, and Drusilla reads so much in her eyes. "Will you still know what to do, with so much changed?" she muses, tilting her head to better hear the stars.
Buffy shrugs, laughing slightly. "I should be able to figure it out."
So much went wrong, for both the people she loves and the world - and she hears the First Slayer in her dreams, and this is her chance to change it all.
"If you don't ignore Spike in favor of Angel," Buffy says as she turns to continue her patrol, "he probably won't become fixated on me."
Drusilla watches her go, swaying in the moonlight, until Spike comes for her. "What are you doin' at here, pet?" he asks softly, gentle as he only ever is for her.
She wonders how he became the wretched creature in the Slayer's mind, who found the courage somehow to sacrifice himself. Did he love the Slayer more than he loved her?
It matters not, she decides, nibbling at Spike's neck as he guides her back to their home. Some of what came to pass will not now, and some will. She gleaned much, and she'll have to follow the threads.)

“You’re welcome Hawkeye.”
Despite her own bandaged wounds, she smiles bright and sweet, punches his arm as if to tell him congratulations on being alive. He pulls her close, and she tucks herself against his side, sighing as she closes her eyes ready to leave their very busy day behind.Clint kisses her head, takes in the scent if her hair, and goes to sleep too. He’s glad Kate is still by his side.

Date: 2016-03-11 05:55 pm (UTC)“A bottle of red wine,” Abe replied. Far too cheerfully (and too loudly).
“Did I say anything I shouldn’t have?” The hamster was on the move again.
“Depends on your viewpoint.” Abe paused. “Jo seemed surprised, but quite happy.”
Henry groaned. But very quietly.
Abe grinned. “You know, you really are old enough to know better.”
Henry glared at him, then shut his eyes.

Date: 2016-03-11 01:08 pm (UTC)Fill: Dollhouse/SGA
Date: 2016-03-20 06:14 am (UTC)None of them answered him.
He stared at the tops of their heads where they were bent over their puzzles, scribbling away furiously.
"I rest my case."
Joe put down his pencil first, stretched, and smiled when he saw Evan. "Oh, hey. Welcome home. What's up?"
Evan said, "We're boring old men. We need to do something fun."
"We're all on the wrong side of forty," John said. "We're supposed to be boring old men. We've earned it." He put down his pencil with a flourish, and Rodney groaned.
"Why do you always win? Although technically Joe won. He always really wins."
"I'm better at math," John said, and it was true, but Rodney hated to admit it.
Rodney finished his puzzle as quickly as he could, then immediately reached for Joe's to compare them. "Who's been giving you crazy ideas, Evan?"
"The airmen on the base. I asked them what fun things they were doing this weekend, and they're all going snowboarding and skiing and four-wheeling and – and doing fun things. And when they asked me what I was doing, I told them I'd be watching a BBC Merlin marathon with my roommates."
"Don't deny the power of Colin Morgan," Joe said wisely. He stood up and went to kiss Evan hello.
"What fun things could we possibly do?" Rodney asked.
"We're not boring men," Evan insisted. "We're interesting men. We're all talented and – and worldly and experienced. We are capable doing lots of fun things. So we should do them."
"So you want us to, what, get out there and have the greatest adventure in the history of basic cable?" John asked.
"We don't have basic cable," Joe said, confused.
"We don't need basic cable," Evan said. "We should get out more. We busted our asses to rescue Earth. We should enjoy it."
Rodney glanced at John, and something unspoken passed between them. It was Rodney who said, "All right. What should we do?"
There was a pause, and then Evan recognized Julian's imperious tilt of his head in the way John sat up a little straighter. "I think," he said, "it's only fair that each of us picks an endeavor."
"Like the time you all went on dates with Rodney?" Joe asked.
Evan blinked. "It certainly would provide us with a wide variety of experiences," he said.
John reasserted himself. "Within reason, obviously. We can't do everything the imprints like." He blushed a little. Evan suspected he was thinking of the professional Dom he had kicking around in his head, whose sole interest was in sex and whose date with Rodney had been...awkward, to say the least.
"It's a start," Evan said. He handed over to his desk and grabbed the paper calendar he kept – because he still kept one, no matter how much the others made fun of him - and flipped it open. "All right. We should set aside at least one night a month. Joe, go get your laptop, so we can see if there are any pertinent cultural events for us to try."
Rodney cleared his throat. "Um, Evan –"
"Obviously each of us gets to pick something too," Evan said.
And Rodney perked up. "Right! Joe, do you still have the flyer about that robotics competition?"
That was how it began. Once every other Friday night (because there was date night to consider, and also the occasional base lockdown scenario to factor in), they had a team night, and they'd go out and try something new. Evan was pleased to prove to the new, young, green SGC recruits that the McShep-Florne household was not comprised of boring old men, the imprints were all overjoyed at having some special time just for them, Joe was excited to try all the things he'd never had a chance to try while John was an active Doll, Rodney was glad to have fun things to report to Jeannie in his regular phone calls to her, and John...John was glad they weren't stuck watching Merlin for weeks on end.

Date: 2016-03-11 01:08 pm (UTC)FIll 1/2: SGA, Evan Lorne
Date: 2016-03-11 03:06 pm (UTC)He was thinner than she remembered, cheekbones more pronounced. And when she peeked into his sketchbook, it was full of people she didn't recognize, in uniforms she didn't recognize, with no name patches and the occasional flag patches from foreign countries. When she did get emails from him, they were always brief and full of good cheer, with nothing in them to indicate location ("nice day") or who he was stationed with. He commented on the food, how the goals of the "mission" was progressing. Paintings he was working on. Movies he watched at movie night. But nothing substantive. She couldn't tell if it was him being deliberately obtuse or the military censoring what he sent.
But he was sitting on the couch and playing video games with Mikey, and he was smiling and subtly letting Mikey win, and maybe he was just tired. Long commute, he'd joked. Jet-lag. Gabby was curled up on the other side of Evan, scribbling away in a little notebook of her own. Neither she nor her brother had inherited the Lorne gene for art, but if Gabby practiced enough, she could gain the necessary skills over time. Natalia and Evan knew, more than anyone, that art was a skill that required endless hours of practice. Natalia thought of Evan's sketchbook, which was the closest thing to a journal he'd ever have, and was glad he still had time to draw, wherever he was stationed.
Mom would be coming over tomorrow night to make a huge dinner to celebrate her baby boy coming home. They'd take a drive out to the commune, where the others would be painfully polite to him until he rolled up his sleeves and buckled down to help paint and plant and weed, and as long as he said nothing about where he'd been or what he'd done or showed even a hint of his dog tags, it would be all right.
Tonight was for Evan to relax. He had no children of his own, and even before his posting to who-knew-where he'd had an awful track record with girlfriends. He occasionally had unexpected but unreasonably long delays on base, getting stuck in one lock-down procedure or another, and none of the women he'd dated had tolerated it. Despite his one steady relationship through college (that ended when he shipped out after graduating ROTC), Natalia suspected his relationship failures had less to do with his job and more to do with the fact that he was dating women, but she wasn't sure. She'd caught him kissing Chad McDonald once, when he was sixteen, and he knew she knew, but they'd never said anything about it. He adored Mikey and Gabby like they were his own, and they missed him fiercely when he was gone, sent him endless numbers of emails with their awkward little drawings attached, and he wrote back with praise for each one.
When the timer went off – Natalia had strict rules about how much video game time the kids were allowed – Evan made sure he and Mikey were at a decent save point before letting Mikey shut off the gaming console.
"Time for bed," Evan said. Natalia, who'd had to deal with the kids' excitement of their beloved uncle's return all day, was more than glad to let him handle the majority of getting the kids to bed. Gabby put away her art supplies after a gentle reminder, but needed no prompting to brush her teeth. Mikey needed a bit of a firmer nudge, but seemed content to brush his teeth if Evan was doing it at the same time. Natalia came and stood in the doorway while Evan tucked Gabby and Mikey into their beds.
