LONELY PROMPTS WEEK::21 MARCH § DAY 1
Mar. 21st, 2016 02:12 amMarch 21-25 is Lonely Prompts Week and it will be a challenge week! Each day will have a different theme for you to base the prompts you fill on.
REWARDS
Everyone who participates, will get either a participation icon or participation banner at the end of the week (depending on graphics makers schedules, this may take some time).
The person who fills the most prompts each day gets to pick that day's theme for the next lonely Prompts Week (June 20-24).
The top 3 people who fill the most lonely prompts for the week will get either 10, 20, or 30 LJ Tokens (in addition to the icon or banner).
Monday, March 21: POV Remix. Rewrite previously written fills from a different character's perspective. Include a link to the original fill. If the remix you wish to do is of another author's work, please get their permission beforehand.
More Info: The only real rule is strict canon-compliance, with the original fill serving as canon. A different character may experience an event the original character missed out on and brings an added bit of context. Nothing in the remix can contradict the events of the original fill (e.g., if Character A dies in the fill, they stay dead in the remix; if B and C are a monogamous couple in the fill, the remix can't have C/D; etc.).
If you leave a request, please make sure it follows the theme for the day.
Please number your fills when leaving more than one in a comment. This helps me when I'm ready to count them up.
To find those elusive Lonely Prompts, you can rummage around at the Lonely Prompts Spreadsheet, or go into the Calendar Archives, or for more recent prompts, you can use LJ's advanced search options to find prompts to request and/or fill.
To get things going, a few rules that I ask you all to follow.
1. You can only request five prompts to be filled.
2. You can request no more than three prompts from the same fandom.
3. You can, however, fill as many prompts as you'd like!
4. In the subject line, be sure to say whether this is a request or a fill!
5. You must link back to whatever the prompt is in the community logs (whether filling or requesting it be filled), and, if you're filling the prompt, please complete the fill as a response to the original prompt.
6. If you are filling an "any/any" prompt, please let us know what fandom (or, if original, say so!) you're using for the response.
7. If you filled any lonely prompts earlier this week, this is the place to share them!
8. Finally, we now have a community at AO3. If you have an AO3 account, please post your fills there. More information on how to do this is located at this link.

Date: 2016-03-21 07:05 pm (UTC)I hope I'm not stepping on any toes, but (for me) a remix is reinterpretation, so it should only be as long as it needs to be. It can be retelling the whole thing or just part of it. *shrugs*

The remix was longer than would properly fit, so I filled it here: http://ficsco-and-nagi.livejournal.com/37746.html (but I put the link for the remix back at the original prompt as well just in case).

Date: 2016-03-21 02:57 pm (UTC)The next time he wakes, it's the absence of warmth that rouses him. He glances up as Monroe slips from beneath the sheets, mumbling, "M'nroe?" through a jaw-cracking yawn.
"I'll be downstairs, okay?" Monroe whispers in the still morning air.
"'kay," Nick manages. He pulls Monroe's pillow to him, and burrows deeper under the blankets.
A buzzing noise wakes Nick the third time, and he looks around, wiping sleep from his eyes as he glances at the clock. It's closer to 9am, though it's a Saturday morning, so he doesn't feel the need to be rushed. So he lounges in bed, coming fully awake before getting up from the bed. He heads to the bathroom, and while he's there decides to take a quick shower; their coupling had been new and frantic the night before, so he knew he needed to wash away the worst of it.
Stepping out of the shower, Nick towels himself off and then quickly realizes he doesn't have any fresh clothes. He figures he'll have to go to his old place, the one that Juliette had moved out weeks beforehand, to get something. But in the meantime, he figures Monroe wouldn't mind lending him something to wear. Opening the door, he has the towel wrapped around his midsection, but almost drops it when he sees Monroe standing on the other side, glowing red eyes taking in Nick's still-glistening torso.
"That for me?" he asks, reaching for the cup of coffee, taking it and offering a kiss in return. He moves the cup to the counter, then uses one free hand to pull Monroe down closer, the other hand cupping Monroe's cock through his sweats.
Monroe gives Nick something between a whimper and a growl, then drags him into the bedroom for another round.
An hour later, as they both doze, Nick lets his fingers glide over Monroe's naked torso, landing on his hip. When Monroe's eyes flutter open, Nick can't resist, so he leans up, claiming a quick kiss. "I'm gonna need to go get some clothes from my house," he says.
Glancing at the window, Monroe protests, "But it's raining out..."
"Umm, this is Portland. It's always raining out," Nick replies with a smile.
"I've got some stuff you can wear," Monroe says. "Besides... It kinda feels like a day we should just stay in."
When Monroe leans over, draping his body across Nick's, Nick has to wonder if Monroe means to stay in, or stay in bed.
Either way, he's okay with that.

more that was meaningful and real,
than the years that led to this crossroads.
I heard the door close -
not slamming, but slinking shut
in an unfortunate and unhappy desire to be undetected,
as if secrecy could lessen the pain.

Date: 2016-03-21 03:19 pm (UTC)Fill: Don Strachey Mysteries (movie 'verse), Donald/Timothy, "A vacation adventure"
Date: 2016-03-21 03:20 pm (UTC)Which is what he keeps telling himself when Timothy wakes him up at sunrise while they're on a well deserved vacation.
Timothy, chipper as ever, gets Donald up and about, and makes sure Donald dresses in hiking-appropriate clothing. Smiling, Timothy hands him a travel mug filled with coffee as he manhandles him into the rental car. The sharp Hawaiian morning is almost as bright as Timothy's mood, so Donald is glad he's managed to remember his sunglasses.
It's only a quick thirty minute ride to wherever they're going (Timothy's never said). Timothy manhandles Donald out of the car, and points him at a nearby trailhead. The backpack flung over one shoulder, Donald grabs his husband's hand, and the pair take off across the deserted parking lot, the only sound being the crunching of rocks under their shoes.
It takes a few minutes, but Donald finally hears the rush of water coming from somewhere nearby. As they round a corner, they come upon a deserted lagoon, water cascading down in a gentle rush. "This is beautiful, honey," Donald confesses.
Giving Donald a brief smile, Timothy presses them on, and they're soon next to the shore. They stand there, admiring the view, when Timothy lets go of Donald's hand and starts taking off his shoes.
Suddenly lost, Donald closes his eyes. "Dammit," he mutters.
"What's wrong darling?" Timothy asks, his other shoe and sock coming off, placed neatly on a nearby bench.
"I didn't think to pack my swimsuit," Donald says. He watches as Timothy pulls his shirt over his head.
"Really?" Timothy asks, an impish grin on his face. He suddenly pulls at the buttons of his khaki shorts, and lets them puddle at his feet, and Donald can't help as a deep feeling of lust overtakes him. "Maybe we don't need swimsuits," Timothy confesses, stealing a quick kiss.
Donald stands there, watching as Timothy escapes into the warm pool of water and makes his way over to the waterfall, watching as the creamy flesh of Timothy's muscular backside slowly disappears under the water. He comes out of his stupor, and is naked a second later, running into the lagoon and pulling his husband close when they finally meet.
Even on vacation, Timothy has the absolute best ideas.

Fill: Jeremiah (TV) - Mr. Smith, Kurdy Malloy
Date: 2016-03-21 07:28 pm (UTC)Smith's POV this time:
Today we did celebrate Kurdy's birthday. Usually, I try to avoid crowded places like the cafeteria. And I try to avoid to think about my past. Because I don't have one. Days like these remind me of this fact all too clearly.
I'm the outsider, the guy no one wants to hang around with. Because I'm God's messenger. Sometimes I wish I could just lay down and die, this would be so much easier. But He is not willing to let me go. He has told me that the future of the world is lying in my hands. What kind of future can this be?
I took another sip of my coffee when Kurdy tore me out of my thoughts. He dropped down onto the chair beside me, a forced smile on his face. Kurdy is a nice guy, I know, he doesn't want to hang around with me, but he feels pity.
"Do you have fun," he did ask me.
Fun? I don't know anymore what this word is supposed to mean, I can't remember if I ever had fun in my life.
"Birthday parties are supposed to be fun."
Are they? Well, I guess, Kurdy is right, before the Big Death people did enjoy birthdays and parties and fun. Michelle told me once that it is important to keep the old ceremonies alive. But Michelle can remember, like everyone else. Memories can hurt but they also keep you alive.
"I can't remember my birthdays," I told Kurdy.
"I don't have a history. Everything is wiped out, everything what happened before the I died."
He stared at me, I could read the shock in his eyes.
"You ... what?"
His voice was slightly shaking. He wasn't ready to hear the truth. It would have been so more human to lie, but I couldn't. Because God has told me that is needs to know all.
"I died. But God wasn't willing to let me go. He brought me back to life."
It was hard to smile but I did it anyway.
"I'm glad that you still can enjoy your birthday. But for me the day of the anniversery of my death is the only birthday I can remember. And, believe me, there is no reason to celebrate that."

Date: 2016-03-22 12:36 am (UTC)Fill: A morning remembrance, Oliver/Barry, PG
Date: 2016-03-22 12:37 am (UTC)It took Oliver a while to get used to Barry, but once he did, he craved his partner's attention. And the little gestures always made him feel warm inside, not hollow like he had when sneaking out of someone's apartment at 3am. The first time he awoke, it was to the aroma of coffee, which Barry had picked up for him from his favorite brewhouse in Central City, still piping hot even hundreds of miles away from Oliver's bedroom. Then there was the tie that Barry left one morning, when Oliver texted he was having a rough start to his morning; it was the same tie they used later that night, silk against Barry's delicate wrists.
As he wakes up, Oliver knows he's alone in bed. Barry had a case, and had only come by for a short while the night before, though they made the most of it.
Oliver stretches, finally noticing a pieces of paper in his hand. He sits up in bed, leaning against the headboard, and opens the note. He can't help but smile as he reads the words, "I miss you already" written in delicate blue ink against the cream-colored parchment.
Putting the note on the bedside table, Oliver grabs his phone and texts back, "Miss you, too."

Date: 2016-03-22 09:20 am (UTC)It's still there inside his chest like an illness with no cure and breathing gets harder by the minute.
But he puts on a smile, hoping the cracks aren't visible and begins to tell Ryan of his new novel and the the fact he's dragging him to see every superhero movie coming out this year because he needs to give them his seal of approval. And wow, Ryan is a far cry from the kid with a talent for getting into fights and a fondness for white tank tops, but his smile and laughter are exactly how he remembered, what he needed. His chest untightens, gives way to something clearer, lighter. And he appreciates the fact Ryan hasn't mentioned the D word and lets him prattle on about everything and nothing.
Back in highschool Seth was awkward and he had no friends, comic books, indie music an arsenal of pop culture references and sarcasm got him through. Until the boy from Chino became a permanent addition to the Cohen family he didn't know what real friendship was. Ryan was and still is one of the most important people in his life and by the looks of it he knows him best. He laughs, a real sound erupting from within. Calling Ryan is one of the best ideas he's had lately.
After many years Ryan Atwood hasn't lost the power to make him feel better in his own skin, like he belongs.
Ryan's absence always fucked him up, he's willing to admit as much, if his best friend suddenly was out of the picture he would run and hide. At some point life without Ryan became an impossible thought. Seth had chalked it up to his insecurities and the times when Death Cab was the soundtrack of his angst ridden nights. But Ryan was more, is more than just a blanket of security. He makes him want to be a better man. One who can remember his first love without bitterness.
He looks out of the window of the restaurant, the ocean is the backdrop of his life and his choices, the only witness who'll remain silent. They're not teenagers anymore, they've grown and if Seth asks Ryan to get out of there and catch up somewhere else is because Ryan's snort and the small smile that follows is the answer he needs, his cue to be better.
