Tuesday is Pets day!
Mar. 28th, 2016 11:12 pmHello, everyone. I’m
truthwritaslies and today's theme is Pets. Prompts can be anything involving pets.
Just a few rules:
No more than five prompts in a row.
No more than three prompts in the same fandom.
Use the character's full names and fandom's full name for ease adding to the Lonely Prompts spreadsheet.
No spoilers in prompts for a month after airing, or use the spoiler cut option found here.
If your fill contains spoilers, warn and leave plenty of space, or use the above mentioned spoiler cut.
Prompts should be formatted as follows: [Use the character's full names and fandom's full name]
Fandom, Character +/ Character, Prompt
Some examples to get the ball rolling...
+ Due South, Ray Kowalski/ Benton Fraser + Diefenbaker, There is some debate as to whether Diefenbaker actually counts as a pet.
+ DCU, Selina Kyle (+/Any), You're not a crazy cat lady until the number of cats you have is greater than your bra size.
+ Any Science Fiction, Any +/Any, "You can't just bring back stray fauna from alien worlds and claim it as a pet."
We are now using AO3 to bookmark filled prompts. If you fill a prompt and post it to AO3 please add it to the Bite Sized Bits of Fic from 2016 collection. See further notes on this new option here.
Not feeling any of today’s prompts? Check out the just created Lonely Prompts Spreadsheet. For more recent prompts to write, you can also use LJ’s advanced search options to limit keyword results to only comments in this community.
While the Lonely Prompts Spreadsheet and LJ's advanced search options are available, bookmarking the links of prompts you like might work better for searching for in the future.

"You say that now," Vala starts, petting the squirmy little thing on her lap that looks like a Shih Tzu mated with a Bichon Frise and shrank itself to a quarter of its size. "But Mr. Squiggles--"
"I do say that now," Cam says in a rush, because if she's already named it, it's worse than he thought. All right. "Jackson. Back me up here. You can't honestly tell me you want that thing living in your apartment."
Daniel squints at him. His look is half Brokering deals between warring alien planets is one thing, but on this matter I have accepted my fate, half Do you honestly think I've survived twelve years working at the SGC by being an idiot?
Cameron understands a lot more about General O'neil now than when he first joined SG-1.
"Carter," he tries, turning to Sam, who's bent over a tablet with the schematics to her shiny new tech on it. "Help a guy out. We'd never be able to clear it with Landry, for starters, and-"
"Hmm," she says without looking up. "Actually, he still feels bad enough about the stabbing thing he probably would. Might have to keep it in quarantine for a month or two."
"I'll visit you every day, darling," Vala croons. She scratches it on the chin, and it flops over onto its back and bats at her fingers with a teeny, tiny paw. "You really do look like a Mr. Squiggles."
"Teal'c," Cameron says in desperation. "What do you think?"
Teal'c leans back in his chair for a moment and thinks.
"Mr. Squiggles," he says, "Is indeed a most appropriate name."
Jackson doesn't quite manage to turn his laugh into a cough, but Cameron gives him props for trying.

Date: 2016-03-30 02:15 am (UTC)Phil closed the office door and unsnapped the leash attached to Lucky’s collar telling him to sit and stay. Clint left a week ago Friday on an Op. The first week he’d left Lucky at the apartment but his neighbors complained the dog was howling so this week he didn’t have much of a choice but to bring Lucky to the office with him. Thankfully Clint had trained his scruffy mutt to be a therapy dog so his manners were impeccable, except where pizza was involved, then all bets were off. Lucky loved his pizza.
Opening the big duffle he was carrying that contained the dog bed, blankets, toys and dishes, he set them out around his office, including the couch, because he knew the dog would curl up in Clint’s spot at first opportunity.
Phil didn’t want to think about the amount of flack he’d get by having the dog in his office. He’d never admit it out loud, but he was glad for the company. He was missing Clint already and it had only been a week since he left. He didn’t want to think about what the next five weeks were going to be like if it was this bad already. Nor did he want to think about how much even in his thoughts, he sounded like a teenaged girl.

Date: 2016-03-29 07:59 pm (UTC)Bear stood up and looked reluctantly at Reese and Finch.
“Go on,” Reese answered the look, “it’s sunny out. Go and play!”
Joss Carter clipped the leash onto Bear’s collar and she and Shaw set off. Initially Bear dragged, but as soon as they reached the park he rushed ahead, pulling hard on the leash.
“Slow down,” Carter ordered, “otherwise I can’t let you off.”
Bear’s expression implied she should catch up with him, rather than the other way round. But once free, he bounced around, chasing his toy while Shaw threw it for him.
Suddenly he stopped, sat down and pricked his ears forward.
“What’s up, boy?” Shaw asked.
Hurriedly Carter clipped the leash back on and instantly Bear practically towed her back towards the library. They arrived just in time to spot Finch and Reese being assisted into a van.
Two minutes later the thugs were the ones tied up in the back of the van. And Bear was sporting a silly doggy grin.
