Wednesday: Alternate Occupations
May. 3rd, 2016 11:23 pmGreetings, Earthlings! Today is Wednesday. Hump Day. I’m
sharpiesgal and this is my third day.
My third theme will be Alternate Occupations. Prompts can be anything, so go ahead and get creative.
The rules are as follows:
1. No more than five prompts in a row.
2. No more than three prompts in a fandom.
3. Use the character's full name and fandom's full name for ease adding to the Lonely Prompts spreadsheet.
4. If your prompt or fill contains anything that can be a trigger for the reader, please add a warning for that to give the reader the chance to decide if they want to read or not.
5. No spoilers in prompts for a month after airing. Use the spoiler cut option found here.
6. If your fill contains spoilers, warn and leave plenty of space, or use the above mentioned spoiler cut.
Prompts should be formatted as follows:
Fandom, Character+/Character, Prompt
Some examples to get the juices flowing:
Iron Man movies, Tony Stark + Pepper Potts, personal chef to the stars.
Star Trek (AOS), Leonard McCoy, gambler
CSI: Miami, Horatio Caine/Tim Speedle, classical pianist and his manager
We are now using AO3 to bookmark filled prompts. If you fill a prompt and post it to AO3 please add it to the Bite Sized Bits of Fic from 2016 collection. See further notes on this new option here.
Not feeling any of today’s prompts? Check out the just created Lonely Prompts Spreadsheet. For more recent prompts to write, you can also use LJ’s advanced search options to limit keyword results to only comments in this community.
While the Lonely Prompts Spreadsheet and LJ's advanced search options are available, bookmarking the links of prompts you like might work better for searching for in the future.

Date: 2016-05-04 01:23 pm (UTC)"You looked like you were in a hurry," he answered with a smile.
Perceptive, Bruce thought. He was late for a 3-hour board meeting and didn't want to sit through it with a growling stomach, and the chicken-bacon melt sandwich at this place was his favorite.
"I am actually," Bruce said. "In fact, I hate to do this, but..."
The waiter held up a container. "You'd like it to go?"
"How did you-"
"You've checked your watch every 30 seconds since ordering," the waiter said, seeming amused.
Bruce nodded, and the waiter placed the bill on the table and then efficiently wrapped the sandwich in paper and packed it, the chips, slaw, and pickle, into the to-go container by the time Bruce had gulped down the last inch of his coffee and counted his cash and put it on the bill.
"Got you more coffee to go, to," the waiter said, plopping a to-go cup in front of Bruce.
Bruce looked up at him, impressed.
The guy shrugged. "When you got your coffee, you seemed like a man with a close personal relationship with caffeine." He gave Bruce a little wink.
Bruce smiled and let out a little breath of air. "Fair." He stood up and grabbed his coffee and food to head out. "I'm Bruce, by the way."
"I'm Wally. Hey, come back and see us again for lunch some time, maybe when you have time to sit back and enjoy."
"Sure.... What shifts do you work?"
Wally smiled, clearly pleased to be asked. "Every Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday at lunch." He gave Bruce's body a quick look up and down, fast enough that he probably assumed that Bruce wouldn't even notice. (Bruce noticed).
"See you around, Wally," Bruce said, then walked out, making a mental note to clear his Thursday lunch schedule.

“I really don't think...”
Melinda cut him off, her grip still solid around his wrist, saying, “No. No, you don't,” and then, after glancing at Natasha, added, “or you would have listened to your physical therapist.”
“I listen to her!”
“When it suits you,” Natasha muttered. Her hand was tightly wrapped over his upper arm; a bag was slung over her shoulder, black and nondescript, and likely contained at least one item of too tight clothing. (He'd seen what the duo wore to yoga and pilates; he also knew this was punishment for not pushing hard enough to get his flexibility back after New York. No doubt they would combine the two.)
While he attempted to formulate a way to get in touch with Nick—who so owed him for some of the shit that'd gone down—to save him from the quickly-approaching humiliation, the women pushed him through a door to the smaller of the gyms and all but threw him at the instructor.
Shit.
Shit, the guy was exactly his fucking type.
Suddenly his punishment came into crystal clear view: two of his three closest friends hadn't brought him to yoga just to humiliate him in front of his minions. No, they'd brought him so they could enjoy watching him fall over himself with a cute guy.
“Hi,” he managed to get out when the instructor smirked at him, “Phil Coulson. I have been unwillingly dragged down here by two agents who will be visiting a very cold base soon.”
The guy's smile grew larger. “Clint Barton,” he introduced, “And I'll see what I can do to make that unwilling into willing, hm?”
(When Phil settled onto the mat Natasha had rolled out for him, he growled, “I'm thinking the Greenland base,” and pulled at the lycra too-snug around his crotch.
Melinda only deadpanned back, “I think that'd be a lovely place to honeymoon.”)

Date: 2016-05-04 10:00 pm (UTC)Chris Carter, her manager, sighed inwardly. She was a talented singer, maybe one of the best he had ever had under contract. But she was also one of the most stubborn ones, especially when it comes to reporters. She outright hated it to give interviews and to answer the same lame questions again and again.
"Please, baby, be nice to him. He's working for one of the most popular magazines."
She rolled her wonderful green eyes and smirked.
"Spooky Mulder? I remember him from College. He was a geek who tried to convince everyone that aliens are existing."
Chris smiled.
"Well, he might have changed. Wasn't it you who demonstrated for free love and pot for all once? No one, who sees you on stage nowadays, would consider this possible yet.
Give him at least a chance, okay?"
+++
The moment she entered the room, her heart was up in her mouth. Instead of denim and a t-shirt, he wore a suit now, together with a dark red tie. But beside of that nothing had changed. The same brown eyes, the same slightly messy hair, the same barely visible smile.
And all she wanted was to pull him into her arms and kiss him ... like she had always wanted to do.

Date: 2016-05-04 06:24 am (UTC)FILL - More Soulful, SPN, Dean/Sam
Date: 2016-05-05 10:11 pm (UTC)"Seriously? Can Sam get any more soulful?" Dean shouted from where he stood at the catering table, enjoying a few tiny hamburgers. He had just finished shooting for the day, and now they wanted Sam to do some solo shots. They were doing a spread for some outdoor adventures mag, and Sam was wearing a red flannel that was completely unbuttoned. He had a hatchet slung over his shoulder, and the fan was blowing his hair away from his face.
The whole thing was slightly ridiculous, but Dean wasn't complaining about the view.
Sam shot him a dirty look before he turned back to the camera.
"Can I get someone to fix his hair?" The photographer paused and a woman rushed forward with a comb and some hairspray. Dean tried his best not to make any indignant noises. Sam's hair looked great, those bastards did not know what they were talking about.

Date: 2016-05-04 07:04 am (UTC)FILL - Hospitals and Shotguns, Teen Wolf, Gen
Date: 2016-05-05 10:00 pm (UTC)Argent had called her to let her know that the kids were in trouble, and Melissa couldn't get to her SUV fast enough. The whole drive, she wondered why she had chosen to live so close to the preserve. That had been a strategic chose, but clearly the wrong move. The monsters in this town preferred to pray on the young and the weak, instead of hiding in the woods.
She checked her shotgun to ensure it was loaded. It was her nervous habit, even though she knew making noise would tempt death. The hospital was too quiet, as if everyone had already gotten out. Normally, she would consider that a good thing. But Argent hadn't answered his phone and neither had Scott. Or Allison. Or Stiles. They were in here somewhere, she was sure of it.
At the end of the hall, the elevator lights went off and the bell dinged. As the doors slowly slid open, Melissa readied her shotgun. Much to her surprise, Allison and Stiles jumped out. She breathed a sigh of relief, but then she caught sight of their panicked expressions. They gestured to the left and without saying a word, Melissa swung around to face what they were pointing at.
A huge grey ghost with sharp, pointed teeth greeted her with a sick smile. It flickered before it rushed forward, but Melissa was able to get off two shots before it's claws grazed her arm.
"Mom!" Scott yelled as he came charging around the corner, his claws out. But Melissa knew those would be worthless against a ghost.
"Stay there, Scott!" Melissa warned him as she dropped her shotgun to grab the silver knife stashed in her thigh holster.
She sliced through the apparition, and it screamed as it exploded. Tiny flecks of grey and black filtered through the air before all evidence of the ghost disappeared.
"Is everyone okay?" Melissa turned to Scott. His eyes were huge, but his claws where gone.
"That was badass." Scott grinned at her just as Chris rounded the corner, his scrubs dirty with what Melissa could only assume was blood.
"Thanks, McCall," Chris said with a nod.
Melissa nodded back before she pulled Scott into a hug.
