Wednesday: Wizards & Witches
Oct. 26th, 2016 01:30 amHi! I’m
brumeier, and I’m putting a spell on you! Today's theme is WIZARDS & WITCHES! Bring me Wiccans, love potions, magic tricks, black magic, and more. Prompts can be anything so long as it involves magic, however you want to interpret that.
Just a few rules:
No more than five prompts in a row.
No more than three prompts in the same fandom.
Use the character's full names and fandom's full name for ease adding to the Lonely Prompts spreadsheet.
No spoilers in prompts for a month after airing, or use the spoiler cut option found here.
If your fill contains spoilers, warn and leave plenty of space, or use the spoiler cut.
If there are possible triggers in your story, please warn for them in the subject line!
Prompts should be formatted as follows: [Use the character's full names and fandom's full name]
Fandom, Character +/ Character, Prompt
Some examples to get the ball rolling...
+ Marvel Cinematic Universe, Scarlet Witch, finding a way to contact her brother
+ Stargate Atlantis, Rodney McKay, he’s a technopagan
+ Hawaii Five-0, Steve McGarrett/Danny Williams, cursed tiki statue
+ Any, Any, The Craft AU
+ Any, Any, puberty comes with unexpected magical abilities
We use AO3 to bookmark filled prompts. If you fill a prompt and post it to AO3 please add it to the Bite Sized Bits of Fic from 2016 collection. See further notes on this new option here.
Not feeling any of today’s prompts? Check out Lonely Prompts Spreadsheet 1 (not very current), Lonely Prompts Spreadsheet 2, or the Calendar Archives, or for more recent prompts, you can use LJ's advanced search options to find prompts to request and/or fill.
While the Lonely Prompts Spreadsheets and LJ's advanced search options are available, bookmarking the links of prompts you like might work better for searching for in the future.

Date: 2016-10-26 08:07 pm (UTC)Joe chuckled, tightened his arms around her. "Little bit," was all he would admit. "I remember Iris looking at it when she was a kid... I've just never sat down to watch it with her, that's all."
"Well, that's just a crime." Caitlin did her best to keep a straight face, even if she could feel her lips twitching ever so slightly.
"And me a detective." Joe's voice was dry and he actually rolled his eyes. "Should I be buying you the DVD for Christmas?"
"Please." Caitlin gave him her best withering look, even if her lips were still twitching wildly. "Like I don't already own it." Which happened to be true - Hocus Pocus was one of her go to rainy day movies, especially at this time of year. Finding it on one of the local television channels tonight, even though they'd missed the first five minutes, had brightened her spirits to no end after what had been the latest in a succession of trying days.
"You know," Joe said, his eyes far away suddenly, "Iris used to pretend to be a witch after watching this... she'd be going around, pretending to cast spells... she tried to turn me into a frog once..."
Caitlin giggled, both at the image and the knowledge that she'd done much the same thing. "I really wanted to believe in magic and witches after seeing it," she murmured. "Part of me still does."
"I believe in magic." Joe's words had her looking up at him, blinking in surprise, and he continued, with a perfectly straight face, "Hey, you've definitely cast a spell on me."
It took a second for his meaning to hit home and when it did, her jaw dropped and she laughed out loud. "Oh, very good." She nuzzled her face against his chest. "Very smooth."
"I thought so." He looked immensely pleased with himself. His hand came up, cupped her cheek. "But it's true, you know."
Suddenly, the urge to laugh disappeared. "Yeah," she whispered as he lowered his lips to hers. "I do."

Date: 2016-10-26 10:44 pm (UTC)Rodney rolled his eyes. “A containment circle.”
“That some kind of magnetic thing?” Ford asked.
“A magic thing,” Rodney said. “If I coordinate the computers, I can make a - like a Key of Solomon, but for the darkness instead of for a demon or a fallen angel.”
Teyla nodded earnestly, then noticed John and Ford’s baffled expressions.
“McKay,” John said, “did you hit your head? Did the darkness get to you?”
Rodney pinched the bridge of his nose, looking exasperated. “I’m a technopagan, which is neither here nor there. What that means is that I use magic alongside science and right now magic is our best option.”
Ford looked at John. “Sir -”
John took a deep breath. “Wormholes. Floating cities. Magic. Sure. You think you can contain this thing?”
Rodney nodded. “Yes.”
“Okay,” John said, “what can I do to help?”
“...Do you happen to know any virgins? I need virgin blood.”
John blinked.
“Don’t look at me,” Ford protested.
Teyla said, “What constitutes virginity for your magical purposes?”
“You?” Rodney asked.
“No,” Teyla said, “but I know some children.”
“And now we’re exploiting children.” Ford threw his hands up.
“I didn’t say I needed a lot of blood,” Rodney said. “Most of it’s done on computer anyway. I just need a bit of blood to lock the circle once it’s in place. So, children?”

Date: 2016-10-26 11:05 pm (UTC)Kono squinted at the new kid, with his fluffy frosted hair and his very obvious mainland vibe. “I don’t know.”
“Steve says the kid gives off a vibe,” Chin said. “Like he might have the gift.”
“Has Steve talked to him yet, asked him to come join a circle?” Kono asked.
“Speak of the devil,” Chin murmured.
Steve appeared in the doorway of the cafeteria, scanned the crowd, then made a beeline for the new kid.
“For the last time,” the new kid said, “whatever it is you’re selling, I’m not interested. You do not respect the sanctity of a man’s personal space, and you’re incredibly socially awkward, and your presence is not decreasing my dislike of this godforsaken rock.”
“Steve’s talked to him,” Kono said. She stood up, shook her hair out. “I got this.” And she crossed the cafeteria, came to stand beside the new kid. “Is this oaf bothering you?”
“Oaf?” Steve echoed, offended.
The new kid looked Kono up and down, smiled. “Well, this is more like it.”
“Having a bonfire down on the beach tonight,” Kono said. “Want to come?”
“Sure,” the new kid said. “I’m Danny, by the way. Danny Williams.”
“Kono Kalakaua.” She offered a hand, and Danny actually kissed it. He looked pleased.
He looked less pleased when he showed up at the beach and it was just Kono, Chin, and Steve. But then Kono showed him how to light the bonfire with a few well-placed words, and Danny showed her how he could bend the flames into various shapes, and maybe high school wasn’t going to be so bad after all.

Date: 2016-10-26 01:57 pm (UTC)Marionette (PG-13, Wanda/Vision)
Date: 2016-12-06 02:03 am (UTC)Her fingers crooked and beckoned, her hands made whorls in the air, twisting and clenching. Palms crashed together, bringing objects colliding against each other. She reminded Vision of a puppet master manipulating the strings of his marionette, bringing it to life. Wanda had clapped her hands in joyful delight that day in the park as the man had coaxed the marionette to dance just for her.
Her sparks and tendrils danced for her now, moving at her beck and call. She was destruction and chaos performing an elegant dance, and Vision felt something in him stir.
Later, after the battle from which they emerged victorious, Vision coaxed her away from the others to the privacy of their rooms, where he might better show her exactly what watching her weave her spells did to him.
As her fingers flexed and curled over his back, he was filled with wonder anew that she could be so gentle with him, stroking his skin so carefully. He shifted and caught her wrist as her fingers slid up into his hair, and he brought her hand down. He kissed each finger and sucked them one by one with reverence. Sparks crackled from her fingertips, and they tasted warm and spicy sweet on his tongue.
She trailed sparks down his spine with her other hand, and he shuddered as he came apart. She shook apart beneath him moments later, and they lay entangled in each other.
"You're fascinated by my fingers," she said with a giggle.
He hummed in agreement. "All of you. You are extraordinary, and even that fails to encompass all the awe I feel for you."
Her cheeks turned crimson, and she cupped his cheek as she delicately kissed him.
Captivating, he thought, as he kissed her back, his fingers splaying across her back. The sight of Wanda captivated him.

"Unbelievable."
