If this is your first time at comment_fic on Sunday, you can either post a previous prompt, or fill one. Or both!

How to do this:

Looking for prompts? You can find them in various ways! You can rummage around at the Lonely Prompts Spreadsheet, or go into the Calendar Archives, or for more recent prompts, you can use LJ's advanced search options to find prompts to request and/or fill.

Whichever you decide to do, prompt or fill (or both!), please remember:

1. You can only request five prompts to be filled.
2. You can request no more than three prompts from a particular fandom.
3. You can, however, fill as many prompts as you'd like!
4. In the subject line, be sure to say whether this is a request or a fill!
5. You must link back to whatever the prompt is in the community logs (whether filling or requesting it be filled), and, if you're filling the prompt, please complete the fill as a response to the original prompt.
6. If you are filling an "any/any" prompt, please let us know what fandom (or, if original, say so!) you're using for the response.

No problem! I realize these are all over the map with no attempt at any order. On my birthday last week I decided that I need to write more. Just write something once a day. Even if no one reads it, no one cares, it doesn't matter because I like doing it. I've been here on and off since pretty sure the beginning and I realized the lonely prompts would be perfect to help with the daily goal. So I used the post schweinsty made a few months ago with a gathering of lonely any/any prompts (removed ones that didn't grab my attention) and a little bit each day I select a month and go through all the comments (well some themes I skip lol) pulling out ones that I think I can do something with. I've got Jan 2015-2009 and Feb 2016-2012 (part) done and of course the ones I had from her collection. I numbered the document, go to a random number site, and whatever number comes up that's what I do. I also realize that some of these fills are super old and the those who left them may not longer be around or care but I am happy for them because its a giant help and making me productive. Now I just hope this mojo will actually stick and my self doubt doesn't butt its way in. Well I wasn't planning on this being so long!

I just want to say it's great that you decided to do this and are making it happen!

I don't think more than one or two people read my fills, either, but it is writing for the enjoyment of writing that makes it worthwhile. Every piece you write is an opportunity to improve your craft, too.

Don't let self-doubt stop you!

Like I said I was getting tired of wanting to write more and never doing it. Or rather not doing it enough.

The whole it's for me concept is the hardest part but I'm getting better at not caring. Of course when I do get feedback or some type of reaction I eat it up LOL.

I agree - it's great you're doing this. And a lot of my writing I do for myself. I tend to write for fandoms that may not get as much love any more and when someone does respond to them, it's always a delight - but so is a finished work I can look at and say, "Yeah, I finished that one."
