Tuesday: Myths and Legends
Feb. 14th, 2017 12:04 amHello, everyone. I’m
gehayi and today's theme is myths and legends. Prompts can be reinterpretations of myths and legends from anywhere in the world, myths and legends that have arisen in alternate histories or alien cultures, urban legends, and so on.
Just a few rules:
No more than five prompts in a row.
No more than three prompts in the same fandom.
Use the character's full names and fandom's full name for ease adding to the Lonely Prompts spreadsheet.
No spoilers in prompts for a month after airing, or use the spoiler cut option found here.
If your fill contains spoilers, warn and leave plenty of space, or use the spoiler cut.
If there are possible triggers in your story, please warn for them in the subject line!
Prompts should be formatted as follows: [Use the character's full names and fandom's full name]
Fandom, Character +/ Character, Prompt
Some examples to get the ball rolling...
Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell (book or TV), any +/ any, legends about the Raven King
Candle Cove, the Skin-Taker, Candle Cove is just a creepypasta about a kid's puppet show...isn't it?
Supergirl, Kara Danvers + Alex Danvers, myths and legends of Krypton
We use AO3 to bookmark filled prompts. If you fill a prompt and post it to AO3 please add it to the Bite Sized Bits of Fic from 2017 collection. See further notes on this new option here.
Not feeling any of today’s prompts? Check out Lonely Prompts Spreadsheet 1 (not very current), Lonely Prompts Spreadsheet 2, or the Calendar Archives, or for more recent prompts, you can use LJ's advanced search options to find prompts to request and/or fill.
While the Lonely Prompts Spreadsheets and LJ's advanced search options are available, bookmarking the links of prompts you like might work better for searching for in the future.

Date: 2017-02-15 01:18 am (UTC)He cannot let Peter watch him, of course. Peter knows that he is a good forger - Peter's turned on by it, despite his moral objections, Neal can tell - but this painting, Peter can never see.
This secret, Peter can never know.
Neal has had many lives, has been many things: lovers, thieves, troubadours, inventors, confidantes of royals and adventurers in far-off lands. But his favorite kind of self has always been an artist.
He's been several.
Thomas Gainsborough was one of his more famous ones. There was another in Rome, of course, but his 'name' was no longer spoken after he was caught having an affair with the emperor's niece. But Thomas' name has lived on, at least for these last short centuries. Neal enjoyed being him, enjoyed painting in his style.
He still does.
It would be suspicious of course - to produce a forgery that is so perfectly Gainsborough, even for the greatest forger of the day. So this landscape could never see the light of day.
Not for many centuries, until Thomas' name is forgotten again. Until Peter and Mozzie and El and Diana and Jones are long gone. Until 'Neal' has disappeared into the dust of history.
But it pleases him, to paint these dark trees, to be Thomas for one evening, to let 'Neal' delight in being Thomas (for surely Neal would be a fan).
Neal has many secrets - many he keeps from Peter and many from everyone. One more will not hurt.
