Date: 2017-04-16 01:45 am (UTC)Quatre sighed, tilting his head down so that he was no longer studying the heavens, but looking out over the town below. The rhyme was one he had been taught in his nursery and like so many things from his early childhood, had stuck with him as he gotten older. He could never figure out what to wish for though, even then. The one thing he wanted more than anything was beyond the power of a simple star to grant. He’d learned that after years of first stars, falling stars, and birthday candles no matter how many times he asked or how true his belief was his mother was never coming back.
Nor was his father ever going to be less busy. He’d resigned himself to that. To so many things. All of which were unfixable despite his position from atop the social and financial food chain. There were days he hated it, the endless responsibilities and obligations that took up his time and leached away at his soul. Was it too much to ask to have just one day to sleep and play his violin? Not lessons, just playing whatever he wanted no matter how silly or uncomplicated the piece might be.
One day. Just one single, solitary, day to run barefoot in the grass and laugh.
To be someone other than Quatre Winner heir to WEI and all that came with it.
