Simpsons Thursday
Jun. 1st, 2017 11:03 amAhoy-hoy, lowly mortals, and behold your new god Mr. Burns
classics_lover. Today's theme is The Simpsons. Prompts can be anything to do with the Simpsons, be it quotes, couch gags or anything else you like. Have fun.
Just a few rules:
No more than five prompts in a row.
No more than three prompts in the same fandom.
Use the character's full names and fandom's full name for ease adding to the Lonely Prompts spreadsheet.
No spoilers in prompts for a month after airing, or use the spoiler cut option found here.
If your fill contains spoilers, warn and leave plenty of space, or use the spoiler cut.
If there are possible triggers in your story, please warn for them in the subject line!
Prompts should be formatted as follows: [Use the character's full names and fandom's full name]
Fandom, Character +/ Character, Prompt
Some examples to get the ball rolling...
+ Hawaii Five-O, ensemble, someone finds a Which-Simpsons-Character-Are-You quiz online and nobody thinks theirs is right
+ Tortall, author's choice, You go through life, you try to be nice to people, you resist the urge to punch em in the face, and for what?
+ Leverage, ensemble, using Simpsons quotes as code on a job
We use AO3 to bookmark filled prompts. If you fill a prompt and post it to AO3 please add it to the Bite Sized Bits of Fic from 2017 collection. See further notes on this new option here.
Not feeling any of today’s prompts? Check out Lonely Prompts Spreadsheet 1 (not very current), Lonely Prompts Spreadsheet 2, or the Calendar Archives, or for more recent prompts, you can use LJ's advanced search options to find prompts to request and/or fill.
While the Lonely Prompts Spreadsheets and LJ's advanced search options are available, bookmarking the links of prompts you like might work better for searching for in the future.

Date: 2017-06-01 10:33 am (UTC)FILL: 9-1-1, Buck/Eddie, fluff
Date: 2022-08-12 02:44 pm (UTC)He fondly smiles, squeezing Eddie tenderly to give him a hug. “Babe, you saw me this morning.”
Yes, that was seven hours ago, which was far too long if you ask him. “Don't care, I miss you when you are not around.” Buck hugs Eddie fondly as he nearly stumbles over his feet to get to the bed.
Buck was so sleepy he could hardly keep his eyes open. After a long shift, all he planned to use the bed for was eating, sleeping, and...oh! Buck was caught off guard by the pillow fort that decorated Eddie's bed. Normally, the bed was neat and well-made, but now it was a puffy mess of pillows and snugly blankets.
“Chris made it a few nights ago,” Eddie explained, catching Buck eyeing the mound of pillows and the soft sheet draped over the bed by two chairs pushed on each side. “It was during that thunderstorm, it frightened him, and he crawled into bed with me. Thought it would take his mind off the fear, and sure enough, he slept like a baby.”
He pauses, debating about taking it down, but it looks cozy, and he is just as exhausted as Buck, but they are adult and a pillow fort is such a childish thing. “We can take it down...”
Buck is already wiggling under the blankets, snuggling inside the cozy fort. “Its kinda perfect.”
Eddie quickly ducks inside, and pulls Buck into his arms. They snuggle so close he can feel Eddie’s body heat against his skin, Buck feels like he is wrapped in a fluffy blanket. Eddie presses soft, sweet kisses to Buck’s lips, and Buck’s lips curve into a beaming smile as his heart tap dances in his chest.
Eddie grins, he cannot even keep his happiness hidden as he cuddled up beside Buck. Eddie almost purrs like a kitten as Buck gently brushes his fingernails down his back, Buck leans into softly whisper “Love you.”
Buck keeps Eddie warm with his snuggling cuddles, and Eddie melts as the constant buzzing of a long, exhausting day fades away until pure joy fills him then he's peacefully blissful and his head feels heavier and his eyes close, leans his against Buck's chest to lay his head as he smiles fondly. Buck knew Eddie would always be near, he was his home sweet home.
He doesn’t want to leave the cozy bed; he could spend all day snuggling with Eddie and lying safe in his arms, the bed was warm and soft, and for a moment, Buck just sort of stares fondly at Eddie, he looks so blissful. Life could not get sweeter.
He smiles when Eddie pressed a kiss to his forehead. It was a long day, but it was all worth it when his sweetheart hugs him and tenderly kissed him, it was a blissful heaven for Buck. Soon both of them are peacefully asleep, dreaming in the realm of joyful dreams inside their cozy pillow fort.

Date: 2017-06-01 11:33 pm (UTC)FILL: Implied Angel/Cordelia and Unabashed Crack, Part 1/2
Date: 2018-04-11 08:17 am (UTC)“Ugh, what the hell is with this traffic today?” Cordelia whined. “Angel, drive faster!”
Angel looked up into the rearview mirror to glare at Cordelia. Whatever was causing this traffic was not Angel’s fault, nor was it his fault that the Powers had decided to send Cordy a vision that required everyone, including her, to come along this time. He was already pretty irritated at having to drive through this traffic, and her complaining wasn’t exactly helpful.
Cordy rubbed her temple and made a small, sad noise. “My head hurts.”
Angel’s glare softened into a sympathetic expression. “I’m sorry. I'm driving as fast as I can.” He narrowed his eyes at the car in front of him, which was crawling forward at a snail’s pace. “It would be a lot easier if there wasn’t bumper to bumper traffic today,” he muttered, annoyed at the fact he had barely managed to get anywhere in the past forty minutes.
Gunn scoffed. “Is there ever a day in L.A. without bumper to bumper traffic? The Powers should send Cordy these visions a lot sooner if they expect us to get across town and they definitely should if they plan to make us get on the 405.”
Wesley, who was riding shotgun this time, craned his neck to look at the passengers in the back row. “Yes, they really should. But the traffic is particularly terrible today. Perhaps it has something to do with Cordelia’s vision?
Cordelia shook her head. “It was a demon that wanted children’s blood, Wes, not a traffic demon.” She moaned in sudden agony. “Oh God, no.”
Angel shot a panicked look to his rearview mirror. “What’s happening?”
Fred seemed just as panicked as he did. “I don’t know! Cordy, what’s wrong?”
“The… the demon,” she panted out. “It’s there already.” She burst into tears. “By the time we get there, all those kids are gonna be dead.” Cordy turned her head into Gunn’s shoulder and began to sob while Fred patted her shoulder and made soft noises in an attempt to soothe the distraught seer. Unfortunately, it didn’t seem to be working.
Angel’s hands tightened on the wheel. Technically, he worked for them, but sometimes he hated the Powers for what they did to Cordelia. Now was definitely one of those times.
Angel forced his face to relax out of it’s pained grimace. “How about this, Cordy? If I can’t get us there on time, I’ll stop on the way back and make sure you get anything you want.”
Cordy’s sobbing turned into quieter sniffling. “Anything?” she asked.
“Anything,” Angel confirmed.
“Well, I’d like a beach house in Malibu, a billion dollars, and international superstardom,” she answered sarcastically. “But I guess, since it’s you, I’ll just settle for a giant Coke and some aspirin.”
Angel chuckled lightly. “Nice to know you’ll let me get away with something easier, Cor.”
“Hey, if we’re stopping on the way back, can we get some tacos?” Fred asked. “I’m feeling kind of hungry again.”
Wesley turned to Angel with a puzzled frown. “Didn’t she eat right before we left?” he whispered.
Angel shrugged. “I think so,” he told Wesley at the same volume. Louder, he told Fred that he would remember to pick up some tacos for her on the way back.
Eventually, they got past the accident on the 405 and Angel was able to drive at a normal speed. But by the time they got there, it turned out that Cordelia had been right anyway. The mass of children’s bodies the demon had left behind after raiding the school soccer game was a gruesome sight that made even Angel, after all he had seen and experienced, feel disgusted. They stopped for a few minutes to take pictures of the bodies while Wesley made notes in a slim spiral notebook. Angel used his sensitive nose to pick up the scents in the area in case it could be useful for the future, and then they were ready to go.
Angel glanced in the rearview mirror. “You still up for Mexican food, Fred?” If anything could kill her appetite, what she had just seen would.
But apparently Fred’s appetite was still alive and well, because she was tilting her head in confusion. “Yeah, why wouldn’t I be?”
Re: FILL: Implied Angel/Cordelia and Unabashed Crack, Part 2/2
Date: 2018-04-11 08:19 am (UTC)“Don’t worry, you’ll get them,” Angel promised.
A decent Mexican fast food place was just a block away from the location of Cordelia’s vision, so Fred ended up getting her tacos first. Angel went through the drive through and ordered for Fred, and then he passed the order of tacos and a Dr. Pepper back to her. She thanked him quickly before she dug in, not speaking as she eagerly devoured her meal.
Angel drove for about ten minutes on the highway until he spotted a 7-11 at the next exit. He took the exit and pulled into the parking lot of the convenience store.
Angel turned towards the back to face Cordy. “I’ll be right back, Cordy.”
She nodded. “See you.”
A few minutes later, Angel returned with a plastic bag and what he hoped was a large enough cup that was filled to the brim with Coca-Cola. It looked pretty “giant” to him.
He tapped on Cordy’s window, and she gave him a strange look before she rolled it down all the way. “Why are you being weird?” she asked.
Angel glanced down at the contents of his bag, which were actually kind of ridiculous. But he just wanted to make Cordy feel better, even if it was with stuff from 7-11. He smiled hopefully and began to tell Cordy what he had bought for her.
“I got you three different kinds of pain relief,” Angel explained. He pulled the bottles out of the bag and passed them to Cordelia one by one. “I know you said you wanted aspirin, but I think these are supposed to be stronger.”
“Ooh, Excedrin and Aleve.” Cordelia smirked. “And they say chivalry is dead.”
“And I, uh, didn’t know if you were hungry or not, but I thought I could get you a little something if you were. If you’re not hungry, you can just save it for later.” Angel pulled out a small bag of Nacho Cheese Doritos and a king-sized Snickers bar and handed them to her.
Fred peered over curiously. “Angel got you extra food without you even needing to ask?” She pouted up at him, looking slightly jealous.
“Not just extra food, but a bag of my favorite chips and a king-sized version of my favorite candy bar.” Cordy batted her eyelashes at him in an exaggerated manner. “You’re not trying to woo me, are you, Angel?”
Everyone else laughed at this comment while Angel fidgeted uncomfortably before handing Cordelia her drink. “I hope this Coke is big enough,” he said. “They had even bigger sizes, but I thought those might be kind of ridiculous.”
Cordelia could barely hold the giant cup in one hand. “You got me the Big Gulp too?” She beamed up at him with her most dazzling smile. “I could kiss you right now.”
Gunn cleared his throat and exchanged an amused glance with Fred and Wesley. “At least wait until we get home, guys.”
Angel grinned and pulled one last thing out of the bag. “I got you this keychain too.” He shrugged as he passed over the pink, fluffy accessory. “Just because.”
Cordy sighed as she twirled the keychain casually between her fingertips. “Well damn, Angel. I guess I have to marry you, don’t I?”
Wesley shook his head and tutted in fake disappointment. “And to think, he didn’t even buy her a ring.”
Fred giggled. “Or a beach house in Malibu. I guess he was spending too much money on snacks and keychains.”
Angel rolled his eyes at Fred and Wesley’s comments and walked over to the driver’s side of the car with his empty plastic bag. But even as he pulled out of the parking lot and drove back onto the street, he couldn’t keep the pleased smile off his features.
Angel knew his friends were probably going to tease him for a while at how he had gone overboard at a 7-11 of all things, but Angel decided that he didn’t care when he glanced in the rearview mirror and saw Cordy take a big bite out of her Snickers bar. His purchases, even if excessive, had clearly put Cordy in a much better mood than she had been earlier.
When Cordelia sent him a playful little wink the next time he looked at the rearview mirror, Angel felt an odd shiver race down his spine and knew he was willing to put up with any amount of teasing to get Cordy to look at him like that more often.
