Thursday: Power Play

dreamsofspike and today's theme is Power Play. Prompts can be anything related to power. Maybe someone has full control of someone else, someone is power hungry, someone suddenly gets magical powers. Maybe two characters have a powerful connection. Any way you want to interpret the idea of "power", go for it. :)
Just a few rules:
No more than five prompts in a row.
No more than three prompts in the same fandom.
Use the character's full names and fandom's full name for ease adding to the Lonely Prompts spreadsheet.
No spoilers in prompts for a month after airing, or use the spoiler cut option found here.
If your fill contains spoilers, warn and leave plenty of space, or use the spoiler cut.
If there are possible triggers in your story, please warn for them in the subject line!

But he also feels more alive than he has since he turned over his entire life for Kurt... and then made that horrible mistake in the chaos that came next.
It's innocent enough - at first. Lingering just a little, in the hall, so that if Sam's in a hurry, or isn't paying attention, he has to move Blaine aside so he doesn't run right into him... Pretending to stumble, so that Sam has to catch him -
Blaine doesn't even know why, in the beginning, that it feels good to have Sam manhandle him - despite the obvious. Blaine truly doesn't think of it as having a strong man's hands on him; he knows Sam is strong, that his dedication to the gym isn't just for nothing, and he finds Sam's strength attractive.
But he isn't thinking about what Sam could do with that strength when Sam more or less picks him up and sets him aside in the hallway. He's thinking how nice it is to have someone care enough about him to not just bump into him, yell at him to get out of the way or swerve around him like something untouchable. Blaine likes that Sam is comfortable enough touching him to just do it, casually and without comment or question.
In the beginning, Blaine is just happy to have someone willing to move him and to catch him - literally and figuratively. It's nothing more than a nice bonus that Sam is a good looking guy who Blaine could see himself falling for if Sam were even the least bit interested...
Then Blaine does fall for Sam, whether it's futile or not. And once he starts thinking about Sam and his looks, and his strength, and his taking it for granted that if he touches Blaine - however he touches him - Blaine will just let him and-
Well. After that, Blaine simply can't stop .

Date: 2017-06-16 04:18 am (UTC)Steve and Danny are all alone in the hospital room, and the whirring of machines, the beeping of the heart monitor, and Danny's footsteps are the only sounds in the quiet room.
Moments ago, the team was told that Steve had been put under a powerful mystical enchantment. So powerful, in fact, that scientific medical techniques could only do so much. The best solution, the doctor said, would be for Steve to receive 'true love's kiss,' the strongest healing magic known to humankind. With that, he would probably wake up and begin to heal from the torture the terrorists had inflicted on him. Without it, Steve might not make it through the night.
Danny had still been in a daze after hearing that Steve might die, so he was barely aware that Chin, Kono, and Lou were directing him towards Steve's hospital room. They left a few seconds after leading Danny inside, telling Danny that they would give him "some time."
It was pretty damn clear what they thought Danny should do with that time. So far, he's been circling the hospital room and darting his gaze towards Steve every five seconds, wondering what he should do.
Because it's not as simple as the others on the team think it is. This isn't just about how Danny feels. If it were Danny on that hospital bed, Steve deciding to give him a kiss would actually work. But Danny isn't sure if kissing Steve will work, because he doesn't even know if his partner thinks of him as anything but a friend. And even if he did, that's no guarantee that he's Steve's "true love." Most of the time it goes both ways, but some extremely unlucky people have a true love who can't return the sentiment. Danny has never been lucky in love, and deep down, he's always wondered if he's one of the "cursed ones," as they are called.
It's not like Danny has a ton of other options. Steve needs his true love to kiss him, and the only other plausible candidate, Catherine, is off God knows where doing God knows what for the CIA. Steve can't afford the days it would take to locate Catherine and bring her back to Hawaii. He's got hours at the most. Danny isn't sure exactly who holds that special place in Steve's heart, but he's fairly certain Lynn isn't his true love either. He broke up with her a few weeks ago without seeming particularly torn up about it. According to the lore, a person is incapable of voluntarily leaving their true love and would fight against a forced separation until their last breath.
The way Danny would fight for Steve, which is why he was shoved into this hospital room.
Danny stops in his tracks. There's really no other choice, is there? But he should at least give Steve the courtesy of talking to him first, even if he can't respond right now. Since he's under a spell, there's a chance that he can hear Danny.
Danny walks over to the hospital bed and sits down in the chair set up next to it. For the first time, he takes a good, long look at Steve.
God, he's so pale. What if this doesn't work?
Danny swallows heavily and forces back the frightening what-if scenarios from his mind. He clasps Steve's hand in his and bites his lip to avoid crying at how cold and limp it is. It's not exactly like a cadaver, but it's way, way too close for Danny's comfort.
"Well, babe, I don't really know where to start. If you're awake in there, then I'm sure you know things aren't looking too good for you right now, and there's only one real option for your recovery."
He pauses for a few seconds and looks over at Steve. But his face remains unresponsive and unchanged.
Danny sighs. "Look, I think it's pretty obvious why I'm the one in here right now. I'm pretty sure everyone on this island knows that I'd do anything for you, and it's not like kissing you is some kind of burden or something." Danny laughs weakly at that idea.

The lengths they've gone to, the obsession with saving each other over the world, what they've done... it's terrifying.
And Sam knows that with a word, he could destroy the man who means everything. He's come close before, accidentally or not. Wanted to, once or twice.
But it goes both ways, doesn't it? Yeah, he could shatter Dean to pieces where the archangels and Fate and even Death couldn’t—but Dean could shatter him, too.
He’s picked Dean over the world before, more than once. He always will. He’s the one thing that could destroy Dean utterly—
But he won’t. Not ever, no matter the cost. After everything they’ve done, every law (manmade, natural, divine) they’ve ignored, everything they’ve let die or killed, it always comes back to one thing in the end:
Come what may, to whatever end, Sam will choose his brother, and Dean will choose Sam. Nothing else matters, because everything else is… well, everything else. An afterthought. Unimportant, when it all comes down to it.
Sam always chooses Dean and Dean always chooses Sam, and the rest of existence better catch on because it doesn’t matter what else they have to kill to keep each other safe and alive. That’s always been true, and it always will be.

Lucifer stopped, turning to him, the bottle he was about to pour a drink from in his hand. For a moment, it looked like he was going to hurl the bottle in his direction. His eyes flashed the familiar red in anger. "The power of God. Are we really going to debate this?" He spat out the words like they were acid on his tongue. "If you believe that, then you're more deluded than I thought. Brother, he's had you under his thumb too long."
Amenadiel shook his head. He knew this was a fight he wasn't going to win. Not against this petulant Angel. This man, this child. Well, man-child really. He dragged a hand across his face trying to decide if it was worth it to continue. With a sigh, he dropped his chin to his chest. "Lucifer, are you really this bitter towards our father?" He raised his head, meeting the other man's fierce gaze. His cheeks flush with anger.
"Do you mean to tell me that you don't have any anger towards father? You have been loosing your Angelic powers since deciding on an extended stay on earth. You've weakened, your wings have withered." Lucifer's eyes bore into him, searching for a true answer.
Amenadiel stood, walking over to the balcony doors, looking out at the clear blue sky before him. "He's trying to teach me a lesson. I defied him by staying. It's normal for a father to punish his disobedient child."
Lucifer grunted at that response. "I questioned him and he tossed me into hell. Left me there to rot, for centuries. That's one hell of a time out, brother."
Amenadiel turned to Lucifer, his eyes pleading with him for some type of understanding. "You don't understand, it was for your own good." He took a step towards Lucifer, hands reaching out to embrace him. Lucifer took a step back, hands up in defense, despite the glass in his left hand.
"No, I fully understand. We're all pawns in some sick twisted game he's playing. Pitting us against one another. Sending Uriel to kill me if I didn't return to watch over hell." He closed his eyes as he felt the ache from that memory, of killing his own brother.
"You forget he can be wrathful when angered. But, he can be benevolent. He only wants what's best for all his children. His creations. Why can't you see that, Lucifer?"
"Is that what the power of God is? Please brother, come to your senses. Do you really think he will forgive and forget, Amenadiel?" Shaking his head, he chuckled at his words. "Because, knowing father, I don't think he will. Mark my words, there will be hell to pay in the end."
Amenadiel stared at Lucifer, not believing the words or more precisely the hurt and anger coming from his brother. Without a word, he walked to the elevator. Casting a glance at Lucifer over his shoulder before getting in to leave.
Lucifer waited for the elevator door to shut. He stood in the center of the room, hand on his hip, looking at his nearly empty glass in his hand,. He downed the last of the drink, wiping his lips on the back of his hand. "The power of God. Oh, please."
