Date: 2017-07-02 12:23 am (UTC)Chloe looked down at Trixie, a smile spreading across her face. Pride filling her heart as innocent eyes stared up at her. Trixie bounced from foot to foot in excitement.
"Of course munchkin. Now, where's this paper? I can't wait to read it. I'm sorry I wasn't able to help you with it." She reached out and ruffled Trixie's hair.
Trixie bounded to her room to grab the paper out of her backpack. She skidded to a stop, handing the paper to her mom. "It's ok, I know you've been busy."
Chloe read over Trixie's paper, wishing she'd had time to see it before it had been turned in. Dan's gonna flip when he sees this. Lucifer, uh he's going to be smiling like the proverbial cat who ate the canary. She'd like to rip the paper up until it was just confetti, but that wouldn't be fair to Trixie, her hard work or the grade she got, an B. She groans as she rereads her daughter's paper.
"The Most Influential Person I Know" by Beatrice Decker-Espinoza
The most influential person I know isn't my mom or dad, who are both police detectives. They help solve crimes and arrest the bad guy, which is good. It's not my friend Maze who lives with us. She's a bounty hunter and finds the bad people who try to hide from the police. The most influential person I know is Lucifer Morningstar. He owns Lux, a nightclub. A lot of people who are important go there. So he knows a lot of people. He also helps my mom and dad solve crimes. He's been a big help to them. They may not have solved some of the murders without his help.
But that's not why he's so influential. He an angel. Well, a fallen angel since he lives on earth and doesn't have wings anymore. His dad is God. You know, the God. That's pretty cool. Lucifer had a fight with God and his dad made him the ruler Hell. That's where the bad people go when they die. But, he decided he didn't want that job anymore. So, he's here now.
He wants to do good. Maze used to work for him at his club. They had a fight, but they made up. They help each out. Lucifer has put himself last when it comes to his friends. He's tried to help as many people as he can. He's protected my mom and dad from killers. He's helped his brother out of trouble a couple of times. But not like police trouble. He's really not that great with kids, but he likes me. I like him, even though he said my nickname, Trixie is a hooker's name. It's not. It's a good nickname.
Chloe cupped her hands over her mouth. Dear God, this was bad. Dan wasn't going to just flip, he was going to shoot Lucifer. She heard little feet approaching and smiled.
"Did you like it, mom?"
Turning to meet her daughter's smiling face, she handed the paper back.
"It was fantastic. Very creative and I'm very proud of you." Inwardly she groaned. Trixie was so proud of this paper. She was going to have to break this carefully to Dan. While he was her dad, she clearly was infatuated with Lucifer.

Date: 2017-07-01 10:04 pm (UTC)Doctor Who, Fourth Doctor+Romana II "Like Sands in the Bottle"
Date: 2017-07-02 01:46 am (UTC)The Doctor, Romana thought, was very good at pouting. "What is it?" she asked out loud. Because, sometimes, he actually bothered to explain rather than sauntering off, scarf flailing behind him, the whatever-it-might-be cradled in his hands or stuffed into a pocket or deposited somewhere else.
His lower lip pooched out more. "You don't recognize it?" Holding up the bottle, he squinted through the murk at what she guessed might be the interior, and whatever it contained.
"No." Romana expelled the syllable flatly and, to prove her own annoyance with his arbitrary snatching of this particular bottle out of her hands, she folded her arms.
The Doctor failed to notice. Of course. Too busy studying his jar. "Wa-al," he drawled. And then a mischievous smile flitted across his face, charming her. Again. "It's a rather delicate blend." With a flourish of one hand, he held the bottle aloft with the other, turning it slightly so the overhead diffuse lighting from the TARDIS's halls caught it and made whatever might be inside the bottle gleam. "Romana, this very special bottle is filled with moon dust."
When her eyebrow rose, the Doctor hurried added, "And star dust!"
Romana snatched the bottle out of his hand. "Looks like it's full of plain old dust to me, or at least covered in it." She blew across the bottle's surface for emphasis and the cloud of dust furled itself into the Doctor's face.
His nose twitched. His eyes blinked rapidly. And the Doctor sneezed. Prodigiously. Multiple times. And pointed at her and sneezed again and whatever he might've been trying to say was caught up in the allergic reaction overwhelming his system.
As he scuttled away, fishing desperately in his pockets for a handkerchief, Romana tilted the bottle this way and that, finally saying, "This might do as a nightlight in my loo." Tucking the dusty bottle under her arm, she carried it off for a bit of a clean up. "Star dust and moon dust." She scoffed. "As if I wouldn't recognize sand from the Glowing Desert of Rassilon..."
