Thursday: Drabbles
Oct. 12th, 2017 07:00 amGreetings, Earthlings! Today is Thursday. I’m
sharpiesgal. Yesterday we had a out of this world turn out, so let’s see what we can come up with for today.
Today's theme will be Drabbles. Prompts can be anything, so go ahead and get creative. The tricky part is that the fill can only be a hundred words or a multiple of a hundred words; i.e. 100, 200, 500, etc...
The rules are as follows:
1. No more than five prompts in a row.
2. No more than three prompts in a fandom.
3. Use the character's full name and fandom's full name for ease adding to the Lonely Prompts spreadsheet.
4. If your prompt or fill contains anything that can be a trigger for the reader, please add a warning for that to give the reader the chance to decide if they want to read or not.
5. No spoilers in prompts for a month after airing. Use the spoiler cut option found here.
6. If your fill contains spoilers, warn and leave plenty of space, or use the above mentioned spoiler cut.
Prompts should be formatted as follows:
Fandom, Character+/Character, Prompt
Some examples to get the juices flowing:
CSI: Miami/Enterprise, Horatio Caine/Charles “Trip” Tucker, sunset at the bungalow
MCU, Phil Coulson/Clint Barton, visiting The Wall (Vietnam Memorial)
Iron Man 2, Tony Stark/Natasha Romanov, cooking lessons
We are now using AO3 to bookmark filled prompts. If you fill a prompt and post it to AO3 please add it to the Bite Sized Bits of Fic from 2017 collection. See further notes on this new option here.
Not feeling any of today’s prompts? Check out the just created Lonely Prompts Spreadsheet. For more recent prompts to write, you can also use LJ’s advanced search options to limit keyword results to only comments in this community.
While the Lonely Prompts Spreadsheet and LJ's advanced search options are available, bookmarking the links of prompts you like might work better for searching for in the future.

Date: 2017-10-13 12:22 am (UTC)Alec decided that before he went crazy, he'd go outside to stretch his wings. He quietly made his way outside. He felt the sun against his face. Shedding his shirt, he let his wings unfurl. He groaned as he shook them out. He delighted in the wind rustling against his wings. He finally felt like himself.

Date: 2017-10-12 02:31 pm (UTC)Fill - Playing With Fire
Date: 2017-10-13 02:18 pm (UTC)“Can you guess it now?”
Ed let out a moan as the fire lit up, the sudden heat sending shivers in all the right places. It made it hard to concentrate; certainly with Roy’s cock teasing him. “Shit,” he breathed. The fire went out. Too quickly, but leaving it any longer would scar him. He didn’t need any more scars.
“Well? You know you won’t get more unless you guess – “
“Fucking bastard,” Ed glared at his lover. Roy was looking back at him, sly smirk adorning his lips. He concentrated. “Sublimation Array.”
“Very good.” Roy snapped his fingers again.

Date: 2017-11-07 02:01 am (UTC)"What?" Jonathan hisses, jumping back when Steve pulls on his arm again and gestures towards the moving black thing the size of his hand with long legs to boot. He hasn't wanted to gag this badly since the demogorgon, "No fucking way I'm touching that thing! Kill it yourself! Where's your bat?"
Steve points and Jonathan turns his head to see a well-known baseball bat with nails poking through, sitting nearly beside the crawling creature.
Footsteps start, and the house freezes.
Nancy walks in the room, catches sight of them, stops and laughs.
"What are you-" she starts and then they are both pointing at the thing before she even finishes.
She raises an eyebrow and turns back to both of them, "Really?" she asks, walking over and stepping directly on the creature and crushing it with her boot.
Steve and Jonathan topple over each other as they let themselves slide down from the couch with matching sighs of relief.
"I love you," Jonathan starts, and Steve nods, says, "Love you, Nance. You're the best of us," and both of their smiles grow as one begins to spread across her face.
Nancy walks over to them and plants a light kiss on both of their mouths, leaning away just long enough to utter a smug, "I know," before she's pulled down onto the couch and laughing along with them.

Date: 2017-10-13 12:02 am (UTC)Fill -- They Know
Date: 2017-10-18 08:40 pm (UTC)“The two biggest criminals Gotham’s ever seen actually managed to have a quiet wedding. They didn’t need us.”
“Don’t sound so glum now!”
“It’s just . . . kind of surprising, is all. You reckon we’ll ever -- “
“Don’t go there either!” Harvey growls. “You know damn well I’m not the marrying type!”
“No,” Jim agrees in a hushed whisper. Reaching over, he takes Harvey’s hand in his. It’s enough today that they leave the reception together, hand in hand. It doesn’t matter if he never wears Harvey’s ring. Their whole world -- all of Gotham -- knows they’re together.
The End

Date: 2017-10-14 01:24 am (UTC)"You want to go there?" John asked the dog, as if the dog could answer.
The dog chuffed, tail wagging harder. Its ears raised and fell, a rapid movement.
John turned his attention to the fenced-in area. Studying it for all the places a sniper could hide. Checking the humans within the grounds for anyone who might be carrying a concealed weapon. He took a breath, let it out.
"All right. I think it's safe. Let's go."
The dog surged ahead, dragging John along behind.

Date: 2017-10-13 12:03 am (UTC)FILL: Kirk/Bones - Barfight
Date: 2017-10-15 08:52 pm (UTC)“Another bar fight?” Jim nodded but didn’t say anything. Bones stopped and looked up at him. “Want to talk about it?” Jim shook his head and Bones didn’t push any further, instead focusing on making sure Jim was cleaned up and nothing was broken. If Jim wanted to talk, then he would.

Date: 2017-11-14 04:48 pm (UTC)A slightly older boy steps out of the shadows. Raphael opens his mouth and pulls back his arm, but before he can let his sai go, Mikey takes the box the boy’s offering and passes him some cash. Raph barely has time to wonder where Mikey got the cash from before the younger turtle turns to him. “Hey, Raph,” he calls, grinning and holding up the box. “Want some pizza?”
Raphael stares at him before finally managing, “You came way out here . . . this late at night . . . for pizza?!”
“‘Course!” Mikey grins and takes a huge bite out of a heavy slice practically oozing meat and cheese. “I do everything for pizza! Doesn’t everybody?”
Raphael groans but reaches for a slice.
The End
