Hello! It's me again. Everyone was fabulous yesterday - there were some pretty awesome prompts given and some good fics received.
Today's theme is, because I am an evil, evil person and intend on wasting your whole day, TVTropes. Yes, THAT TVTropes. Always wanted your favorite characters to enact your favorite trope? Have at it! The idea here being to give a fandom, character/pairing/leave it up to the author, and link to a specific trope to be included in the prompt.
Rules: No more than 5 prompts (3 per fandom). After that you may only put up prompts when someone answers one of your previous prompts. If none of the prompts today appeal to you, dig into the Lonely Prompts archive here! There are lots of beautiful prompts waiting for you to write them. The prompts format should be: Fandom, Character/Pairing, prompt.
Chronicles of Narnia, Peter/Susan, Battle Couple
Battlestar Galactica, Apollo/Starbuck, Kiss Kiss Slap
Supernatural, Dean & Sam, Arson Murder And Jaywalking
(Regarding formatting, hyperlinking code is <a href= "link here" >title here< /a> without the spaces.)

First Merlin fic! - Dinner, Merlin/Arthur, PG (1/2)
Date: 2009-12-10 02:48 pm (UTC)He’s afraid, though, that one of these days he’s going to say something that can actually be qualified as stupid, and though he’s also an bit excited for that day, he knows that once he’s crossed that line, there will be no recovering his poise and no going back.
***
The day comes sooner that Merlin expects. It’s a day that starts like any other, really; Arthur’s a prat in the morning which gets him into trouble by noon, so then of course there’s a fight in the afternoon which forces Merlin to step in on his behalf yet again (well, not forces, but strongly suggests, and Merlin’s gotten so that he doesn’t even like to see the Prince get hurt), and even after that, Arthur manages to pick up quite a few bruises from a “friendly duel.”
There’s also a scratch on his cheek that’s bleeding rather badly, and Merlin doesn’t even know where that one came from.
It’s late—almost dinner time—when Arthur finally comes in, all sweaty and dirty and bloody, and guess who gets the honor of cleaning that up?
Merlin draws a bath for Arthur, then removes the Prince’s armor as carefully as he can. It’s always a dilemma between doing it slowly, which makes the pain last longer, and doing it quickly, which makes the pain sharper yet shorter, either of which will earn Merlin glares from Arthur as he hits the bruises. Merlin bites his lip to keep himself from lecturing Arthur on how a bit of foresight and caution could keep this from being a problem at all, because Arthur has a tendency to be nearsighted and reckless, and Merlin’s telling him not to be is not one of those situations that will end well.
Instead, Merlin instructs Arthur to bathe—that’s about as much as he can get away with—and runs to Gaius to get the necessary salve for Arthur’s wounds.
Dinner, Merlin/Arthur, PG (2/2)
Date: 2009-12-10 02:48 pm (UTC)The bruises on Arthur’s back are not as serious as they ought to be given the way the prince gasps and winces if Merlin so much as brushes over one of them, and the part of Merlin’s mind that is not occupied with trying to be as gentle as possible is thinking that it has never seen a lovelier sight. He is conflicted between taking as long as possible so he can enjoy it and getting the job done because he shouldn’t be enjoying it, and because he can’t decide which to do, he takes what he figures is a normal amount of time.
Then, there’s the cut on Arthur’s cheek to deal with, and this is more problematic: the wound itself is nothing serious, but it’s one of those things that cannot go untreated. Merlin finds himself just a few inches from Arthur’s face; those blue eyes looking into his own and Arthur’s breath hot on his neck and oh gods this is not going to end well.
He hesitates before bringing his hand up to treat the wound and Arthur notices; asks him, “Why is it that you’re doing this for me, anyways?”
Half of Merlin’s mind, the half that is still somewhat lucid (and seems to be shrinking by the second), knows that he should say that it’s because he’s Arthur’s servant and it’s his job. But then there’s the other part, telling him to just say “Because I love you,” and then there’s the rest of Merlin’s anatomy, which happens to have about a million reasons of its own. And somehow, they all get confused and Merlin says, “Because I have to eat my dinner later,” which really makes no sense at all.
Arthur gives the sort of look Merlin expected to get, but instead of backing it with an insult like normal, he smiles and says, “Yeah, me too. So finish up, will you?”
“Sorry,” says Merlin, blushing, and he puts the salve on the scratch. “All done.”
Arthur stands up, using Merlin’s shoulder to help him, and is it just Merlin’s imagination, or does he let his hand linger there longer than normal?
“I’ll want to see you later tonight, so come back then,” says Arthur as he pulls a shirt on and exits the room.
Merlin sits there and stares after him, wondering what’s just happened.
