The final notes of the first dance song are fading out, muffled by the applause of their guests as Gordon kisses Noelani, surprised when he draws back to find Dennis standing beside them.

He’s even more when his son speaks, a cheeky grin on his lips as he holds his hand out to Noelani, saying, “Mind if I cut in… I’d like to dance with my new stepmom.”

Noelani’s smile is brighter than the sun as Gordon forces some sort of quip about being replaced past the lump in his throat, but as he looks at the two most important people in his life laughing and smiling, he can’t help but think how lucky he is.
