Hi! I’m
brumeier, and this week we’re going to be tackling some daily life themes! Today's theme is DOMESTIC BLISS! Let’s explore the day-to-day things that bring our characters happiness.
Just a few rules:
No more than five prompts in a row.
No more than three prompts in the same fandom.
Use the character's full names and fandom's full name for ease adding to the Lonely Prompts spreadsheet.
No spoilers in prompts for a month after airing, or use the spoiler cut option found here.
If your fill contains spoilers, warn and leave plenty of space, or use the spoiler cut.
If there are possible triggers in your story, please warn for them in the subject line!
Prompts should be formatted as follows: [Use the character's full names and fandom's full name]
Fandom, Character +/ Character, Prompt
Some examples to get the ball rolling...
+ Stargate Atlantis, John Sheppard/Rodney McKay, the best part of the day is coming back together at the end of it
+ Marvel Cinematic Universe, Any, saving the world is good, but working around their house when they have downtime is better
+ Hawaii Five-0, Steve McGarrett/Danny Williams, family game night
+ Any, Any, moving in together
We use AO3 to bookmark filled prompts. If you fill a prompt and post it to AO3 please add it to the Bite Sized Bits of Fic from 2016 collection. See further notes on this new option here.
Not feeling any of today’s prompts? Check out Lonely Prompts Spreadsheet 1 (not very current), Lonely Prompts Spreadsheet 2, or the Calendar Archives, or for more recent prompts, you can use LJ's advanced search options to find prompts to request and/or fill.
While the Lonely Prompts Spreadsheets and LJ's advanced search options are available, bookmarking the links of prompts you like might work better for searching for in the future.

FILL: Angel the series, Angel/Cordelia Chase, part 2/2
Date: 2017-11-28 07:19 pm (UTC)Angel nervously fiddled with his mug. She had caught him, but she didn’t seem to understand the full implications of what his fascination with her meant.
“Yeah, I guess so,” he admitted. “I’m sorry if I creeped you out.”
Cordy shook her head. “No need to apologize. I said I would have been creeped out a long time ago. But now, I’ve gotten used to it.” She punctuated her teasing comment by sticking her tongue out at him.
Angel had the brief impulse to kiss her, to nip at the tongue she had playfully flashed at him. He had a lot of practice suppressing his impulses, so he was able to restrain himself to simply grinning in response to her joke.
Several minutes of easy conversation later, Cordy and Angel had both finished their meals. Cordy carried her plate and glass to the sink, insisting that she would help Angel wash the dishes.
“After all, you made me dinner,” she said. “The least I can do is help you clean up.”
Angel followed her with his empty mug, and they settled into a practiced routine. Cordy washed the dishes, and Angel dried them. Angel once again found himself captivated by Cordelia, by the way the moonlight from the window above the sink made her dark hair sparkle, the way a furrow appeared between her eyebrows as she scrubbed the dishes clean, the way they worked in sync, as if they had been doing this together for twenty years. He was struck by the soft, domestic intimacy of the moment, but he was too busy drying dishes to stare continuously at her, so Angel thought he would be safe.
He was safe, until the moment Cordy passed her cleaned plate to him. Their fingertips touched for several seconds, and Angel felt electricity pass between them. It was almost like they were holding hands.
Cordy pulled her hand away so quickly that Angel was barely able to hold onto the plate. She bent her head down, but it didn’t conceal the rosy blush that appeared on her cheeks or the sudden increase in the speed and volume of her heartbeat. Angel didn’t dry the plate, instead setting it down on the counter and focusing on the way Cordy furiously scrubbed at the sauce pan and avoided his eyes.
“Cordy—” he started.
“Don’t,” she said.
“I think we’ve got to talk about this. It’s pretty clear that you felt it too.”
Cordy angrily tossed the sponge in the sink. “Damn it, Angel!” Her eyes widened and she slowly pivoted to face him. “Wait a minute, did you just say too?”
Angel nodded and stepped even closer. “I did.” He tucked a wayward strand of hair behind her ear and let his hand rest delicately on her shoulder. “My world kind of stopped.”
Amusement lit up her eyes. “That was really cheesy, Angel.”
“It’s true, though,” he confessed. “My world revolves around you lately, if you hadn’t noticed.”
“I hadn’t. Otherwise, I would have done this a while ago.” And then Cordy tilted her face up to kiss him.
Angel’s eyes fluttered closed at the unexpected contact. The kiss was soft, almost tentative, and Cordelia’s lips tasted vaguely like tomatoes. And hope. Definitely hope.
After a few seconds, Cordy pulled away with an awkward little cough and turned her attention back to the sink. “Dishes,” she explained.
“Right,” he agreed. He focused on the plate he had abandoned earlier and had forgotten completely during that kiss.
The next time their hands met, over the sauce pan, Cordy giggled and patted Angel’s hand before slowly withdrawing it. Angel didn’t stop smiling for the next ten minutes.
